Rant
*sigh*, I'll just let this pass since I'm too lazy to argue over the conflicts in our ideology. Let's just follow the title of this song xD
- [Extra]
General
- Probably should consider reducing your HP to around HP 6 - HP 7 ish. Judging by the way you NC is pretty damn hard for players to recover from missing a bit during the gameplay with HardRock.
- Should enable your Letterbox during breaks since you did actually use it at 02:40:560 - . Not exactly sure what's the difference though from what I see here.
Mapping - 00:01:857 (2,3) - I think using two 1/2 sliders really fits the violin since they had somewhat similar rhythm at 00:01:857 - and 00:02:580 -
- 00:06:425 - The beat here is rather obvious, highly suggest to make this part clickable
- 00:10:560 (4) - The flow from (3) is rather odd here as there's an awkward "pause" in flow in the somewhat same direction
- 00:12:668 (9) - More preferably to start the NC here rather than 00:12:830 (1) -
- 00:15:749 (3,4) - Make this should have somewhat identical movement/shape like what you did in 00:13:154 (4,5) - 00:10:560 (4,5) - 00:07:965 (7,8) -
- 00:16:398 (1,2) - Don't get why these sliders didn't get the same treatment as 00:11:209 (1,2) - where you were emphasizing on the loud trombone/trumpet(?)
- 00:07:965 (7,8) - Ctrl+G should provide a lot better flow than before
- 00:27:100 (1,2,3) - 00:24:992 (6,7,8) - Rather uneven triangular pattern here. Not sure intentional or not but go ahead and use x1.1 DS with small grid if it isn't
- 00:33:749 (4,5) - Same as above. If not, as least stack it with (9) before.
- 00:37:154 - Why not increase the SV here like what you did before when comes to emphasizing on these intense part of the song? Would really fit the song imo
- 00:38:371 - Really obvious drum here. Just make it similar to 03:08:695 (4,5,6,7,8,9) - but obviously with smaller DS
- 00:43:722 (6,7) - The loud piccolo (?) here should use some bigger jump at 00:43:803 (7,8,1) - since is rather dull to leave part smaller DS after an exciting instrument being played here
- 00:46:398 (1) - Maybe remove this NC since almost throughout the entire map, the way you NC has always been the same color till the next stanza/verse. Same for this too 00:48:344 (1) - . If you say things like "for visual purposes" then I have nothing to say about this
- 00:48:344 (1) - Ctrl+G here? Flow really well from (4) towards the (6) too
- 00:57:263 (6,7) - Swap rhythm? I think the strong vocal here 00:57:587 - needs to be emphasized nicely with a circle similar to 00:56:127 (1,2,3) -
- 01:00:668 (1) - I think reverse slider is kinda weak on the soft vocal here. Rhythm like http://puu.sh/tL1qu/1b240ea2e9.jpg should do the trick
- 01:05:695 (1) - Probably a mistake but you should totally Ctrl+G here.
- 01:07:317 (2,4) - Really weak jumps on the strong vocal here. Should increase the DS here which also make a great preparation on your following ridiculously large jump (for the first time) here 01:09:749 (1,1,1) -
- 01:11:371 (1) - Maybe bring this a little closer to 01:11:695 (1) - ? This is the first time you used a 3/4 slider followed with a note 1/4 away. More of the reason to move it closer since you make this slider rather slow
- 01:11:452 - No purpose in this green point at all since your next is at 01:11:695 - anyway
- 01:12:344 (5) - tbh this is quite a odd way to start the chorus. Perhaps just remove NC here 01:12:019 (1) - the NC at the start of the kiai instead?
- 01:22:073 (1,2) - Really large jump if you ask me. If you plan to do this, should make the jump 01:22:398 (1,2) - here instead since there's an obvious increase in intensity of the song
- 01:22:722 (1) - Maybe move this a little further apart from 01:23:209 (2) - to make a nicer square-ish jump? Would be nice
- 01:24:344 (2,3) - Not sure, feels like this part can be way more interesting because of the vocal than a simple 3 consecutive sliders
- 01:27:911 - 01:28:317 - Not a big issue bit all these green lines are quite triggering when is not exactly on the point where you want to lower the volume
- 01:31:641 (1) - 01:32:290 (1) - These two sliders emphasize nicely on the cymbal (?), so obviously this 01:32:127 (2,1) - should deserve the same treatment in terms of bigger DS like 01:31:479 (5,1) -
- 01:38:452 (4) - Nitpicking here, keep DS constant which is around x1.0
- 01:39:263 (7,8) - Rather large jump for a soft vocal I would say. Should keep it consistent with what you have done before
- 01:44:776 (4,5,6) - Try this rhythm? http://puu.sh/tL2Fi/51bd870586.jpg I guess it works really well with the vocal and can make rhythm here 01:45:100 - similar to 01:44:614 (3,4) -
- 01:48:668 (2) - Redundant NC. Just remove it if possible. It doesn't emphasize on the downbeat of the song whatsoever.
- 01:58:398 (4) - Reverse slider is really weak in emphasize the really nice instrument here 01:59:046 - . Try this: http://puu.sh/tL332/fb1156fe02.jpg
- 02:11:290 (4) - Really feels forced to play this note when there's almost nothing in the music at the part
- 02:13:965 (4) - Small stuff, Ctrl+G here would be nice. Current one still works though
- 02:16:560 (5) - Would work better if you keep 02:16:236 (4,5,6) - an even spacing. http://puu.sh/tL3ix/1d55c1c42d.jpg
- 02:21:749 (4) - Ctrl+G. But it's alright I guess since is at a rather slow part of the song.
- 02:57:911 (4,5,6) - Remove 02:57:911 (4) - ? The duplets at 02:57:992 (5,6) - is really obvious like what you did at 02:56:046 (1,2) -
- 03:02:776 (2,3) - Should totally swap this following 03:01:479 (2,3) - since it really emphasize on the vocal really well.
- 03:03:587 (1) - Really weak emphasize on the obvious 1/4 beat here. Would be nice just to keep it similar to 01:12:019 (1,2,3,4,5) - which is a great way to transit to chorus time
- 03:14:938 (1,2,3,4) - Don't you think this spacing is kinda small after the tension you have built up from 03:13:560 (4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,5) - ?
- 03:27:263 (1,2,3,4) - Could be more interesting like what you did before imo.
- 03:34:398 (1,2,3,4) - Woah there. This is definitely overmapped. The piano is extremely soft here, why would you emphasize it with big 1/4 slider jump?
- 03:49:803 (2) - OCD stuff, just stack with 03:48:992 (4) - slider tail.
- 04:07:154 - Remove green line or make it to 5% volume if you want
Hitsound - 00:43:722 (6) - Remove whistle, really noisy here
- 00:59:371 (4) - Could definitely use a whistle here. Felt rather empty without one
- 01:46:073 (3) - ^
- 01:28:479 (2) - Erm, why is this soft? If you listen properly with the hitsound this part here sounds really weird when there's not sound when hitting the triples
- 02:32:776 (1) - Drum sampleset?
- 02:36:344 (4) - Probably wrongly finish. Remove it as this cymbal crash doesn't sound that similar to 02:35:371 (1) - . 02:36:668 (1) - Should have soft-finish instead
- 02:39:263 - Maybe silence the spinner? 10% volume. I think is great way to end the stanza.
- 03:30:506 (3) - Remove whistle?
Kinda gave up trying to understand how you use the default normal-whistle here though. Some part feels rather "spammy" and random, while some feels like it should has normal-whistle in the first place. Overall, quite nice to play and definitely can improve the flow though.
- [Insane]
General
- Disable widescreen support because why not
- Same thing about about letterbox
Mapping - 00:06:182 (1,2) - Similar stuff I've mentioned about the 1/4 thing
- 00:38:371 - Pretty obvious drum as state in Extra since you already use 00:38:452 (1,2,3) - to emphasize on the drum
- 01:07:803 (3,4) - Why is this a smaller DS than 01:07:154 (1,2) - though. The song gradually gets more intense therefore whether keeping a constant DS or gradually increase the DS would fit better
- 01:17:046 (4) - Not a big issue but it's definitely nicer to play with triple 1/4 circles instead of holding on reverse 1/4 slider on the drum like 01:45:587 (3,4,5) -
- 01:31:317 (1) - Since this slider has similar DS with 01:30:668 (1) - , I don't see the need of NC-ing this slider. Looks really out of place
- 01:48:668 (1) - Similar stuff that I mentioned about NC. Actually it should be fine now I think about it
- 01:58:398 (2) - Quite similar to what I've mentioned, but then it's Insane diff with more simplified rhythm so I guess it's alright
- 02:19:803 - I recommend mapping this section though. Being an Insane difficulty, it feels rather odd to have frequent breaks especially all of them around the middle of the song
- 02:50:385 - Might want to remove this green line, unless you plan on since it doesn't affect any sliders nor increase in volume
- 03:11:695 (1) - I guess this kind of slider is an old mapper style of mapping curves, but probably 3 points is enough to make a nice curve to blanket 03:11:209 (3) - (nitpicking stuff)
Your hitsounding is quite flawless here I must say. Feels less random, actually matching the vocal of the song! Overall, this difficult fits really nicely with your old mapping style, really nice to play
- [Hard]
General
- Similar thing to what I've mentioned on Insane difficullty
Mapping - 00:06:028 - Probably took it from your above difficulty. Remove it I guess
- 00:21:263 (4,5) - Not really sure, I think Ctrl+G gives a better flow here
- 00:37:154 - Since this part is rather exciting, maybe give a little increase in SV for better emphasis
- 01:10:236 (4) - I honestly think you should change this to normal circle. The pause really emphasize well on the vocal especially when there's nothing significant at 01:10:398 -
- 01:56:938 (2) - Is this really the part where I have to say things like "blanket better"? Play-ability wise it doesn't really affect the player. Guess I'll have to nitpick this kind of stuff especially in lower difficulties. http://puu.sh/tLepr/9e370f99e1.jpg Follow the circle ring please
- 02:26:290 (3) - I think removing clap is a better option. Since this is a calm part where claps at every 4/1 works really well
Hitsound here is like simplified version from your Insane diff, which is nice~ Nothing I can say about this, looks like a perfect Hard kind of map to me
- [Normal]
General
- Same stuff I've mentioned above (Sorry for repeating if I was wrong about it)
Mapping - 00:07:965 - Leaving the front part out feels rather, weird, especially when there's strong beat at 00:07:965 - 00:08:290 - . Maybe just use simple 1/1 slider like 00:10:560 (2) -
- 00:35:371 (6) - I think this rhythm might be better http://puu.sh/tLfgK/2799c6a64e.jpg
- 00:51:425 (1) - Maybe bring this to 00:51:425 - ? Should follow the vocal well
- 02:32:776 (1,2) - Why this two slider head not hitsound-ed with whistle though
- 03:40:884 (2) - Maybe don't reverse the slider, http://puu.sh/tLg11/ff82fc45a7.jpg this rhythm should sound better
Everything else seems good, from my perspective this kind of map looks perfect (Since I don't even map/mod/play one myself so I can't judge)
- [Easy]
General
- Again same as above
Mapping - 00:07:965 - Similar to what I've mentioned in Normal difficulty
- 00:27:587 (5) - Small stuff (Since this is Easy diff), the bottom of the slider looks rather "sharp" http://puu.sh/tLgim/86ed85a56c.jpg . Could make it more curvy
- 00:28:722 (1) - Move this a little to the right (x:328 y:196) to make a nice blanket (Do I really have to do this?) http://puu.sh/tLgmV/695cea33d3.jpg
- 00:35:371 (4) - Probably a 1/1 slider would be better option since the beat here 00:35:695 - is rather obvious, and there's no "pause" in the music like 00:33:100 - 00:30:181 - etc
- 00:59:371 (1) - Not sure, pretty sure this kind of movement/flow is quite off for an Easy diff. Since the previous notes 00:57:911 (2,3) - is movement from up to down to up again, the next slider is best to have a somewhat downward movement too. (I don't even know what I am saying)
- 01:40:884 (1) - Blanket is definitely not perfect http://puu.sh/tLgLH/bc8573adaa.jpg Approach circle tells it all
- 01:48:344 - Pretty sure a 1/1 slider here would be nice to finish off the stanza
- 01:58:398 (3) - Could shape this slider to make it parallel to 01:59:046 (1) - (Kill me already)
- 03:22:398 (2) - Dont ya think this slider is rather close to the edge of 03:21:749 (1) - ? Could move it little to the left
- 04:00:992 (3) - Quite obvious from the look that this note is relatively close to the previous slider
Best mod 10/10
Anyway that's all I can find from the map. Good luck have fun~
Nice Tweets by the way xD
