Hi there, coming from your request in my Modding Q
As this is your first map, I'll explain some basic structure more instead of blindly pointing out mistakes like you'd do with more experienced mappers
[General]
[Easy]
[Normal]
[Hard]
[Insane ]
In general, there's still a lot to learn (obviously, as this is your first map) so I'd recommend you to check other (ranked) maps to see what they're doing, so maybe you'll be able to pick up something from there. Try to use a set spacing as well. It might not be the most difficult map to play then (if you're aiming for this) but it'll be a smooth map - and that's more fun than random stuffs everywhere :>
Gl with your mapset!
As this is your first map, I'll explain some basic structure more instead of blindly pointing out mistakes like you'd do with more experienced mappers
[General]
- Holy shit this bg <3
- Do you really need 7 combo colours? 4 are usually enough
[Easy]
- 00:12:462 (4) - Either curve this one or move 00:14:240 (1) - to X400. OR: move to 456/204 and 00:15:128 (2) - somewhere where it'd fit to the small curve the cursor will make. You can also curve 00:15:128 (2) - a little bit (not too much!) while you're at it (http://puu.sh/9aspI/34ce81330a.jpg). DOnt forget to fix the combo after it!
- 00:28:462 (1) - I'd say that you keep your hands off such "extremely" curved sliders. Sliders with a slight curve have a better effect and a better flow in lower difficulties as Easy and Normal. Sliders like this can feel chunky, which should not happen
- 00:30:684 (3) - move this one either up or down to have a nicer flow (your mouse has to aim up or down with it, not just straight right, which can be boring)
- 00:33:795 (2) - Try to make a blanket out of this (Have the slider "hug" the circle (quick example: http://puu.sh/9asGF/ce9890fc24.jpg) To do that, you can use the approach circle of the circle to see, if it fits into the slider's trail (the white in the picture)
- 00:38:240 (2,1) - Here you can either: Have both sliders on the same x coord or have each other be a blanket for the other one.
For the first: you can use ctrl+g to see where the exact endtick for a slider is (hover your mouse over the last tick and check the coords on the top right) Then basically move the other slider to the same x or y coord. (click on the coors in the top right to place them even without the grid)
For the second: It should look somewhere like this http://puu.sh/9asUA/5676e77856.jpg - 00:42:351 (2,1) - Try to make a better blanket out of this. The Sliderhead is slightly off (http://puu.sh/9asXV/4d001e0c80.jpg). Dont be scared of turning off grid snap for this, just make sure that you place everything correct later on agsin
- 00:44:462 (2) - curve this one slightly
[Normal]
- 00:08:906 (1) - missing clap on tail
- 00:14:240 (1) - from here on, claps seem to be off. I think continuing them like you did before is a better idea
- 00:33:350 (1) - remove this NC (while we're at it, I think this sounds better, as the "Na" starts 1/2 tick later as your slider does http://puu.sh/9atuP/ceddba6de9.jpg)
- 00:35:573 (1) - remove NC
- 00:38:240 (5) - try to keep a constand spacing. the nest slider is .10 more away than the rest
- 00:42:684 (1) - NC, remove 00:43:573 (3) -
- 01:10:240 (3) - This overlap is wrong, move it to y 123
[Hard]
- 00:10:906 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - You have alot of space towards the upper left corner, yet you go back towards where the combe before came from. This can be messy and difficult to read if the player uses hitburst (50, 100, 300 blah). You have alot of space there, try to make use of it :>
- 00:27:128 (3,4) - This blanket can be improved
- 00:32:017 (7) - This jump seems kinda random and it's only there for the overlap. Either adjust the slider before or move this one
- 00:43:351 (3) - ^
- 00:55:129 (3) - ^
- 00:34:240 (6) - same here, but the other way around. The player would think that this is a 1/2 hitr as well, but its a 1/1 actually. Miss incoming. Try to avoid stuff like this
- 00:38:906 (6) - this slidertick sounds very random, dont do that :<
- 00:45:351 (4) - snapped incorrectly, ends on a blue tick. fix this one
- 00:49:462 (2) - remove this one, as the sound's only on the first circle
- 00:54:018 (1) - Wrong overlap, the end should be on x220
- 00:56:684 (2,2) - Wrong overlap as well. 00:57:795 (2) - 's end should be on 280/68
- 01:07:684 (1) - The actual tick stars at the tail of this slider, so a simple circle on 01:07:795 (1) - Same goes for the slider after that
- 01:08:462 (3) - starts at 01:08:462 (3) - and ends either one tick after or before, depending where you'd like to have it
[Insane ]
- 00:12:684 (2,5) - Overlap is off. find the correct coords by ctrl+g'ing :>
- 00:22:684 (1,2,3,4) - Spread those a bit so that they dont touch each other as much (1 and 3, 2 and 4)
- 01:09:128 (1,3) - ^
- 00:38:906 (4) - remove the slidertick here
- 00:55:795 (4) - ^
- 00:48:462 (1) - I like that slowdown :3
