Floyd, what league did you start at? I started at Silver 1 and supposedly a lot of the leagues are glitched. You can lose your promotion matches and get demoted a league in my league. Or at least, so my friend has told me. I'm not doing any ranked until that (and this piece of shit graphics card that came broken) gets fixed

I ended up dodging my first placement match because 3 people complained about me picking jungle Warwick. This new ranked system seems to have made ranked a whole hell of a lot more stressful than it needs to be. I'd rather just play normals and not care.

Ezreal focuses more on bursts of damage, and with the building of Trinity Force dying down, he is driven further and further away from this focus. Iceborn Gauntlet doesn't match Trinity Force's damage output; it's more of a utility item.

Yes, the building of Trinity Force is dying down BECAUSE of Iceborn Gauntlet (and it cost so much, but it's like 300g less now) (on ezreal, anyways)

Iceborn Gauntlet is a great item on Ezreal -- it offers an AoE damage + slow to suit his pokey nature. I'm not sure what you're trying to say exactly -- do you think Ezreal isn't as good because Trinity Force is less favorable?

No no, Trinity Force is less popular because it got a really huge nerf on patch V1.0.0.152. However, people have yet to realize that for an extra 503 gold you get so much more damage output compared to Iceborn Gauntlet; 30 AD PLUS a bonus equal to 150% of your AD instead of 125% for just 500 gold? It's a steal! Perhaps I just don't consider Iceborn Gauntlet on Ezreal a good enough buy.

Yes, it was cost inefficient because of the nerfs. Phage takes ~forever~ to build now.

I'm not sure how long ago the price reduction on Trinity Force was (a week or two, perhaps? More?). People may be building it more often now, especially on Ezreal. However, Iceborn Gauntlet in combination with his Q is really nothing to mess around with, especially when poking under tower where everybody is pretty close together.

The main problem with Ezreal is that he doesn't get punished enough for mistakes made. Compared to Corki's escape, his blink is less mana and on a much lower cooldown as well (EDIT: It's actually has a lot more range, though. Not sure if this compensates or not. Also they lowered the mana costs (or are planning to) recently so perhaps he's really not that bad right now). He's super safe in lane and pretty hard to pull off a gank on a lot of the time if you catch him while his cooldowns are up.

Honestly though, I don't play AD/Support that much; however, I'm pretty sure Ezreal is the most popular AD Carry still in both low-level play and competitive play because not only is he easy to pick up, he's very rewarding if played well. Didn't he get nerfed in the last patch? Perhaps he'll start seeing less play now though I expect him still to be a pretty standard pick.

triforce has never been cost inefficient and will never be cost inefficient unless it is raised to 5000-5400 gold and even then i'd still buy it on a few characters

its stat distribution is basically a flat base upgrade to almost every single character stat and the extra 50% on spellblade proc and phage slow merged into one item makes it a fantastic buy on just about anyone. iceborn is nice, but much better on characters that can utilize the extra stats (gauntlet on malphite is a terrifying thing). don't be tricked into thinking the field slow deals damage when the field is initially placed - it doesn't, a lot of people seem to think it does

ezreal's escape is a small factor in what makes him so good, tbh. his passive is EXTREMELY good for an AD, possibly the best passive of all the AD carries since a 45% attack speed increase is a massive dps increase which can be maintained with very little effort on his part over the course of a teamfight. it's a natural flat power bonus to him that makes every purchase of AD on him worth more by default simply because he can use it better. couple this with essence flux still imparting a fairly potent slow, a free flash every 16 seconds, a global ultimate and a 1.55x attack range poke/farming ability and you get one of the most well-rounded attack skillsets that league has to offer

and to compensate for that he has mediocre base health and poor resist scaling - something shared with every other AD carry

AD ezreal has never been a poor pick even in the depths of his nerfs way back when, he was just a lot harder to pick up then. with the new itemization offering even greater offensive polarisation on him, he's super-viable now and they'd literally have to chuck a rengar on him to drop him down to a reasonable level. so they wont and instead will likely bring other AD carries up to his level with small changes as they have been doing

^ can be argued obv, but I honestly feel like we have a new holy trinity. MF, Ez and Cait with MF having a slight edge. Sure, Graves is still fine for quick lvl 6 burst combo but thats p much it.

About Trinity Force and why it isn't that good anymore:
They recently reduced the recipe price to 3, which is a good step in the right direction but not the one Ez needed. What hurts most is the fact that Phage is so damn expensive now. 1465 g, which you could spend on a BF sword which is better for every AD. Well, you would have to farm 85 more but thats only one wave. I don't care about the 1 to 5 slow chance it gives Ez, I feel better off with a BF Sword than a Phage any day. Some people do start with the Sheen now when they go for Trinity which is ok. Sheen is still cheap, but you'd rely on hitting all your Qs. Else you wouldn't get much of it. Starting off with Zeal is just stupid anyway.
Imo there currently are 2 very good build for Ez:
1)Berserker's, Bloodthirster, Last Whisper, Statik Shiv, Infinity Edge and Warmogs.(Sell Boots for Zephyr when it gets to very late game)
2) Berserker's, Bloodthirster, Last Whisper, Gauntlet, Infinity Edge and Shiv. (I'd use that if I had to constantly kite)

I *usually* play normal with four other people but since I got a job recently, I've been unable to join them.

what happens is people want to win so there's kind of an element of forced cooperation... you won't instalock quite as often because it just jeopardizes your chances of winning, and you won't go all out troll mode

but semi-repressing your urge to be a cunt isn't the same thing as being nice so tl;dr everyone is still a cunt

also my point is it's more noticeable in league (and therefore other moba games or team games) because you actually have to rely to an extent on the randoms you get matched with in order to win, as opposed to games that are ffa and such

Yeah, you do have to rely on randoms, so point taken.

If you can avoid solo queue with premade games then do it. Solo queue is awful most of the time.

Sure I occasionally enjoy 5s with close friends or people from the /v/ chat but solo queue is becoming fun for me as well. Every game with and against diamond players, couple of famous names here and there and the games are challenging and fun. Though there are known trolls which I try to avoid by dodging(you barely lose any LP) ranked solo is basically the place I go to improve while having fun.

I'd be fine with them not making any new champions at all for a few months. They really need to take the time to fix some of the champions that are just plain awful eg warwick, karma, heimer, sion, gangplank and poppy (just to name a few) will never see competitive play with how nonviable they are. With the recent champions that have come out there is basically no reason to play some of the older ones unless your trying to fill a niche role. Also there are tons of champions that they can make skins for so it's not like they will lose a lot of revenue for slowing champion releases.

All of them are viable, you just can't play them properly. Pros don't use them because there are other champs that do their job better. Viable in the pro scene =/= viable in general.

With over 1000 games with Warwick I can tell you he isn't in a good spot right now. He is getting a buff according to morello, but i'm not sure how long that will take. He was indirectly nerfed with S3 changes.

Karma, Sion and Heimer (confirmed by riot) are getting a rework, but it probably won't be for a bit much like the twitch and eve reworks took over a year.

His clear is below average, and his pre 6 ganks are terrible cause you have to rely on your lanes to have some sort of stun to get a successful gank (people literally walk away from you pre 6 lol). He has good sustain. His first clear leaves you with about 90%+ hp, but this is a terrible trade off with how bad his clear speed and pre 6 ganks are. Yes any cc will basically cancel his ult. He has been played in so few amount of games that the bug on his ult (that has been there for over a year now) hasn't been fixed or even acknowledged by riot yet. He also has one of the lowest mana pools in the game ( 3 Q's and your out of mana). 90% of the items he builds got nerfed in season 3 with a gold cost increase. This is already bad for a jungler who can be starved for gold easily. Lanewick is too niche to play above 1500 elo.

His sustain is only good if he is ignored. With 3+ ignites in every game now he has a hard time doing what his kit is meant to do, and that is fine since it's a counter anyways.

Frozen Fist, Warmogs, Sunfire, Blotrk(gives AS now as well), Merc's and Randuin's. He will stick to the enemy AD and won't stop until he is dead. Only problem is getting to that point. His clear is bad, his pre 6 ganks are bad and his teamfights pre 6 items is mediocre.

Many people don't realize this but WW is a really strong pick against Elise top. Everyone else pretty much gets dumped on by solo top elise. WW can pretty much sustain all of Elise's poke with his Q early and survive lane phase enough to buy chalice on first buy. Even though his jungle is close to garbage, you can still use him pretty well in solo lanes and have some success. If WW gets decent farm then he can 1v1 Elise pretty easily. His post 6 ganks on mid lane are huge, if you have a burst AP mid, can usually burn summoners or get a kill every time your ult is up mid. Oh, and this isn't some random Bronze game lol, I've seen and played versus this first hand at Diamond V-III.

The new botrk will be decent on him now that it gives stats he wants. He can only use half of that item currently lol.

He wins certain match ups top. Thing with elise is her early game is way better than his and she out ranges him by a lot but when you hit 4 it's about even. He is very niche for top lane especially when 2 wards 9 pots is a thing now.

I've seen very few in normal.
Saw one today and I don't even remember when before that.

He is played in less than 5% of all games and has less than a 50% win rate. The only people that are playing him are the few who main him, and the pre 30 people who want to learn the jungle cause he is one of the few junglers who can clear without runes.

Sadly 99% of people on PBE are bad players so they can²t pick up retarded OP items off the bat, just like preseason 3 black cleaver, it²s beyond me how that item even got through PBE.

It's only broken with how common health stacking is. If you build armor instead of health botRK is still a mediocre item. Health should have never been a go to for single resist throughout the entire game. Now that botrk will actually punish warmog stackers people will start building the proper resist to things again. I am happy with this change.
