this original seems to have a lengthy feat. marker as per the picture above, though supposedly the touhou complete box release does not, according to whatever sources I could find. So, maybe this is fine as it is
you could add the feat. vocalist info to tags though at least
// for expert+ diffs
from 02:56:135 - to 03:00:580 - this snapping is good, asked fiery [https://i.imgur.com/jxIbQDE.png]
was gonna wait till someone pointed this out on mine to do it but hey this post is here xddd
eiyashou
in tags should be either replaced with koumakyou
or removed, since currently it's the romanization for Imperishable Night which is the other touhou series
as you have these flashes in your sb at the end now you probably want to enable epilepsy warning
now listening closer i also found the finish spam at 01:39:691 - 01:52:135 & 02:38:357 - 02:50:802 a bit too much -- this is very noticeable in lower diffs (especially easy) when most or even all the objects are having a finish, and i think the cymbals on short white ticks aren't comparable with the ones on long white ticks.
the easy fix would be using finish per 4 white ticks instead of to 2; if you want to be more accurate you can choose to follow the vocal pitch

i don't think this mp3 is the best as its cutoff is around ~16 kHz which is a sign for overencoding, so maybe you want to search better mp3. fwiw you can't keep it solely because it's featured audio
could add "symphonic" to tags, this is more or less "symphonic death metal", in the vein of for example Fleshgod Apocalypse (afaik, this track is actually inspired by The Violation). "melodic" and "melodeath" are also alright, not sure if you are intentionally dropping them compared to the post you linked in your note that suggests them
I can't remember whether there's any differences between the releases, but t his is originally from album 暴君, you could add that to tags as well, with romanized / translated too if you want to (EDIT: so "Boukun" and "Tyrant" respectively)
does the artist of this bg allow non-commercial use of the background? didn't see a note on pixiv regarding that
Does this really matter that much?
I hardly believe most of the Arts that are being used as "bgs" in the ranked section were with an actual "agreement".
Like i would bet at least 60% and above are used without the agreement of the artist itself. I mean you are using it but also "promoting it" at some point, with linking it.
don't really think the hard to insane spread is satisfactory, with your hard being pretty simple, and insane having stuff like https://i.imgur.com/DErVQFA.png which are practically 135 bpm 1/4 jumps when in general insanes shouldn't really have 1/4 jumps (but you do have some bpm allowances, because your low diffs are mapped like non-alt 135 bpm maps you can say).
Rhythm density is also super whack with insane in one section looking like https://i.imgur.com/zlMRsBc.png and then the hard in the same section being https://i.imgur.com/twZysa8.png
In this same section, insane -> expert only sees a spacing increase, density is still the same
It's harder to judge this for me as I neither map nor play songs of this bpm, so just get more opinions and if people say your current spread is fine then just resolve
its fine. also it would be cool if you could provide us with timestamps for a better understanding, screenshots do not provide a general problem
transitions and rhythms are palpable, in addition, other aspects respond to contrast. I do not see need to complicate something, the complication of Hard can cause real problems, but only between Normal and Hard
01:36:135 (1) - compare this in normal and then hard. There are more instances similar to this, where rhythm in the hard is either the same density for a noticeable amount of time, or even more sparse in some cases. Those two screenshots are more than fine, as they're taken in the same exact timestamp, JUST find where they are in the song lmaooo
02:08:135 (1) - and instances like this where you have the normal do some rhythm, hard has everything passive, insane goes demon mode. Make the hard not entirely passive in cases where this happens
I deleted the message because I thought it was wrong. If you wanted a cool gotcha moment you should've archived it
I changed my mind a bit and I don't think it's a [!] problem anymore, but still something that should be adjusted, not in just those timestamps, but a bit more throughout the map with an additional circle/slider here and there where the difference in density makes it so the part is closer to normal than insane. Because ideally you want something inbetween for a hard
01:09:469 (1,2,3) - 02:01:024 (1,2,3) - most of last kiai, as it is slightly less dense than the 2nd one, even though they sound pretty much the same intensity wise
i don't really think that it's a valuable suggestion because it will create a huge problem in rhythm density between normal & hard, the progression i wanted to see will be fucked up
so my personal opinion is no (that's why i asked esu for his opinion), i don't think that it's a good idea, but really appreciate that you're trying to explain opinion that hard. i'll keep this in mind for my future sets. thank you
