for CTB players
The difficulties by me were designed for CTB mode.
As a CTB player, I was looking forward a CTB map qualified by myself someday. But I didn't really know how to do it. One day, some CTB players and me were talking about something fun maps from DNA made and we were missing him so much. I found that it's easily to see how the map works with his style. So I decided to map this. Here is the map. I hope you enjoy it.
But sorry no next time anymore. In fact, making this map gave me a hard time because I had to consider much of transformation stuff. I'm pretty tired of doing it again.

遺憾的是我不會再這麼做了,事實上做這張譜的時候讓我蠻為難的,我要去想很多STD轉換成CTB要去考慮的各種問題,做起來很累,不想再做了

Consider making the sliders at the start prettier

01:35:889 (5,6,7) - Might be just me, but it seems like an unjustified sudden change of spacing

Repeating 1/4 sliders can properly represent the rhythm of the map but still keep it simple for newer players


I like the song, it's pretty funky. The map is good too, just needs a look over :)

red ticks sounds are not strong sounds, claps and white ticks usually stronger than red ones. Don't try to follow everything if there are full of beats on 1/2 or 1/4, or the map would play and look boring bcz no rhythm changing.

[General]
Combo Colours: The current Yellow you're using is way too strong and looks weird in middle of all the cold colors and the background you have, I suggest you either choose a different color or use a different shade of yellow, for example I suggest these settings


[Normal]
Mapping: The DS you're using for 1/2 intervals is not good, they're too big and leaves a ''weird'' little overlap that gives your map a look of inexperience. I Highly recommend you change that for something like 0,75. Yes, you are allowed to have different DS from what the Distance Snap tells you to do as long as you make it consistent during entire map and reasonable.

Structure: Your structure and flow on this map needs improvement, you don't to make something 100% blanketed and ''omg perfect visuals'', but you at some points the map really looks ugly and inexperienced, for example: 00:18:447 (1,2) - which looks really weird for a lowest diff and might even confuse new players due to the unnatural flow with these 2 sliders and here 00:49:843 (2,3) - where you could actually make a good flow but tried this unnatural movement. Low diffs must be really easy to read, simple and have intuitive flow/structure.

Rythm: You have a lot of inconsistencies with your rythm on this diff...low diffs must be really intuitive and easy, specially the lowest one, in your case you keep changing the rythm many times and it's never clear when you're following the vocals, the instruments or whatever you keep changing, you must make something intuitive. For example 00:48:215 (1,2,3) - here you start following the keyboard sound that also matches the vocals a bit, making the player understand you're following instruments and then, 00:51:936 (1,2) - you make this telling the player you're following the 1/1 drum rythm and for no reason you suddenly stop, without warning and then comes back 00:53:796 (3,4) - with the drum, the big issue here is that this pause don't exist, the drum keeps bumping the 1/1 rythm. and even if you try to explain the 3 click rythm you wanted to make (which have a kind of ''reason'' at some degree), you suddenly change again without no change or clue on the song here 00:59:377 (1,2) -.

On this diff, I won't point out specific patterns because it will be useless until you fix the things I mentioned, the issues above explain what happens over and over again during entire difficulty, for this to receive proper and usefull mods (and one day, be ranked) you must fix all those issues, make a consistent and instinctive rythm, while also having a proper DS on notes, and do not forget to make the flow easy and simple, it's the lowest diff, you're not meant to challenge players(this is the job for the other difficulties), this one is meant for people who just started playing and must learn the basics, so you always will sacrifice a lot just to make it easy to read/follow/play.


[Hard]

  • Mapping: You have maaaany issues with DS here, it's only a 2* difficulty, which is the transition from the nearly-new players to something a bit more advanced, so you usually want to use more 1/2 rythms here with a higher speed, to make a good transition of difficulty for them, but you have many unrankable things for a 2* here, for example this huge jumps and non-structured DS as you can see on these 1/2 sections 00:21:005 (2,3,1,2) - 00:24:959 (3,1,2) - 00:28:680 (3,1,2) - and so on during entire map. These things are not allowed into a 2*, you must also make something simple and intuitive on a 2* diff, similar to what was mentioned on the Normal.

    Structure: Same as normal.

    Rythm:Similar to what I said on normal. It's basically the same thing, but on this difficutly it is mixed with a higher inconsistent DS.

I decided to not mod the other difficulties because I would be repeating myself over and over again, i noticed the same things happened on the 2 insane diffs you made, so I highly suggest you reand and understand what I stated on the first 2 diffs and adjust the other 2 also. You can always call me in chat to talk about mapping if you need :p

Low diffs must be really easy to read, simple and have intuitive flow/structure. I'll keep it for a while, I don't think it's really hard to read.

Rythm: You have a lot of inconsistencies with your rythm on this diff...low diffs must be really intuitive and easy, specially the lowest one, in your case you keep changing the rythm many times and it's never clear when you're following the vocals, the instruments or whatever you keep changing, you must make something intuitive. For example 00:48:215 (1,2,3) - here you start following the keyboard sound that also matches the vocals a bit, making the player understand you're following instruments and then, 00:51:936 (1,2) - you make this telling the player you're following the 1/1 drum rythm and for no reason you suddenly stop, without warning and then comes back 00:53:796 (3,4) - with the drum, the big issue here is that this pause don't exist, the drum keeps bumping the 1/1 rythm. and even if you try to explain the 3 click rythm you wanted to make (which have a kind of ''reason'' at some degree), you suddenly change again without no change or clue on the song here 00:59:377 (1,2) -.

you don't really know why I didn't follow all of white beats right ? It is because this song have soft part and stronger part. Rhythm changing is the best way to show what the soft part is, what stronger one is IN LOW difficulties. How to judge that the rhythm is becoming softer when a newbie player playing ? The answer is distance. They need to learn to read distance to judge the timing they should click. I don't afraid of using 2/1, since it makes a map more enjoyable. Also, different slider make a low difficulty more different than other difficulty which is just straight and curve. About the lowest difficulty, 2*↓ is okay, an experience mapper told me.

On this diff, I won't point out specific patterns because it will be useless until you fix the things I mentioned, the issues above explain what happens over and over again during entire difficulty, for this to receive proper and usefull mods (and one day, be ranked) you must fix all those issues, make a consistent and instinctive rythm, while also having a proper DS on notes, and do not forget to make the flow easy and simple, it's the lowest diff, you're not meant to challenge players(this is the job for the other difficulties), this one is meant for people who just started playing and must learn the basics, so you always will sacrifice a lot just to make it easy to read/follow/play.


[Hard]

  • Mapping: You have maaaany issues with DS here, it's only a 2* difficulty, which is the transition from the nearly-new players to something a bit more advanced, so you usually want to use more 1/2 rythms here with a higher speed, to make a good transition of difficulty for them, but you have many unrankable things for a 2* here, for example this huge jumps and non-structured DS as you can see on these 1/2 sections 00:21:005 (2,3,1,2) - 00:24:959 (3,1,2) - 00:28:680 (3,1,2) - and so on during entire map. These things are not allowed into a 2*, you must also make something simple and intuitive on a 2* diff, similar to what was mentioned on the Normal.

    I use the jump for reason, is Hard difficulty for newbies ? I don't think so. The reason why this difficulty shows 2.76* because I don't want to use 1/2 beats all the time. I want to make this difficulty funner by rhythm changing and a few jumps (distance changing). btw 2.0* is very different from 2.76*, Which you mean that these jumps are unrankable for, a 2.0* or a 2.76*?I reduced some jumps to make the jump usage clearly looking.

    Structure: Same as normal.

    Rythm:Similar to what I said on normal. It's basically the same thing, but on this difficutly it is mixed with a higher inconsistent DS.

    I don't mad at you that you give me the feeling that you tell me my map is not worth to rank at all, but I hope you will understand what mappers are thinking when you do a mod in the future. Also thank you to be patience to type so many things here even you think the map is quite bad to you. I appreciate it, really. :)

I decided to not mod the other difficulties because I would be repeating myself over and over again, i noticed the same things happened on the 2 insane diffs you made, so I highly suggest you reand and understand what I stated on the first 2 diffs and adjust the other 2 also. Responding on the M4M (You'll have to go back and look at my response to your thread as I need that mod posted on the V2 page, and not the regular one)

[Normal]
  1. 00:03:563 (1) - I would personally move the head of this slider to the left (around x96 y80) so the head/tail doesn't overlap as it currently does.
  2. 00:08:912 (3) - end this 1/2 earlier to match vocals like you've been following in this section? It's better to be consistent and on point with them, especially if your main focus is vocals.
  3. 00:18:447 (1) - These could be structured together better as the angle is a bit too sharp. Try moving the (1) to the right some, so the head makes a triangle with 00:17:517 (1,2) - x181 y246 is a perfect triangle. Note you'll have to adjust the notes up ahead as well. Try adding in a left curve on 00:18:447 (1) - to help flow into the upcoming notes maybe? Maybe something like this: http://puu.sh/vcIjh.jpg
  4. 01:11:005 (2,4) - Can you make these somewhat similar like you did with 01:03:563 (2,4) - ? The two sliders are basically the same in the rhythm and similar slider shapes would fit much better here.
  5. 01:31:005 (4) - x56 y68, and maybe adjust 01:31:936 (5) - if you want, though it shouldn't be needed with a 2/1 gap.
  6. 02:01:354 (1) - Slider is a bit short for Normal tbh. Maybe use a long slider here instead for the vocals?
  7. 02:13:796 (1) - Same as the first mod. Separate the head and tail some so they don't overlap.

  1. 02:02:401 (6) - Don't really see the need for this tbh. It plays better without it.

    I still think the jumps fit this part, but yes you are right. I reduced the spacing to make the jumps more noticable. they are now making more sense.

* I will stop here cause you need to make th DS between the note same or maybe a bit diff cause its Hard diff by the diff of the beat .. if its too strong you can make it jumpy otherwise the other should be the same on Hard diff for my opinion.. it looks like insane ..
so just don't make it too jumpy .. and its looks like the DS not the same at all .. maybe you just put the notes randomly ..
keep that in mind .. you should look on hard diff that ranked and you will understand my point ..

---这种1/4比较少的曲子slider tick rate用1就可以了。

Insane
--00:04:494 (3,4,1,2) - 感觉这里有点overdone,间距太大了,毕竟是比较安静的部分,照着ds来摆就差不多了,至少把note放地集中一点。举个例子,把00:04:959 (4) - 转135°之后放在256|271 这种位置什么的,否则感觉不太好。
--00:07:750 (2,3) - 做一下blanket吧,否则就会觉得这些note排列得很松散,没有什么关系。
--00:14:261 - 这里有重音,但是你用的是滑条尾,之后轻一点的音确是滑条头,轻重音关系乱了。推荐在这个时候用1/2滑条,把00:13:796 (2) - 缩短1/4拍,之后00:14:726 - 用圈。
--00:14:843 (1) - 你放这个转盘是因为vocal对吧?然而vocal在00:16:122 - 就停了,所以我推荐把转盘停在这个时刻,现在停转盘的时刻放圈。
--00:18:447 (1,2,3,4) - 由于只有最后一个滑条那里有个掌声,所以只有第四个是特殊的,推荐把前三个做的有些关联性,比如用旋转120°的排列什么的,然后把第四个弄特殊一点,否则有clap但没有排列上的变化会很诡异。后面的相同节奏也一样。
--00:21:238 (5,6) - 这里的话可以试试换成圈 圈 1/2条,然后把第二个圈和条头叠上。
--00:25:191 (1,2,1) - 这种几乎同间距但是不同间隔的排列必须得有个很硬的理由才能放。一般在这种节奏都会放overlap,就是把这俩00:25:424 (2,1) - 叠在一起,但是要错开一点,这样不会造成读图困扰,而且也避免了跨屏的跳。
--00:41:238 (3,4,5) - 慎用钝角跳。顺便这个DS变得也不合理。
--00:51:122 - 00:51:819 - 挺明显能听见这两个地方有音,推荐把前一个note换成1/4滑条。
--讲道理,这一段我有点没搞懂你到底在跟哪个音。初步感觉是vocal,但是又有没跟的vocal,你的节奏是复制粘贴的。00:53:563 - 比如这个vocal重音提前,推荐就直接跟vocal吧,直接用1/1滑条。后面也是要注意一下明确自己在跟哪个。这种地方推荐有vocal就跟vocal,没有就鼓点,如果vocal音特别长就用1/1滑条然后跟鼓点。
--01:17:982 - 这一段...你的思想很危险啊...推荐这种曲子不要circle spam因为铺满1/2的那个音实在太弱,这种地方会被喷成overdone的。而且看样子你的这些跳也安排得不是很好...推荐删了然后跟vocal做一遍...这块的问题的确很大。

--02:02:401 - vocal到这里,所以转盘停在这里,后面加圈。
--02:11:936 (1,2,3) - 和之前一样用1/1滑条吧,突然冒出来三个圈很奇怪。

Light Insane
--开头感觉和Insane差不多,推荐滑条尾该加圈的还是加上比较好,比如这个00:10:075 (3) - 减短1/4然后加圈,或者直接不要滑条,然后头一个圈,尾一个圈。这种地方00:07:750 (2,3) - 很孤零零的两个圈,打着不太爽,这里和Insane一样下节奏就好了。转盘同Insane
--00:26:354 (2,3) - 为了把一个clap和两个clap的地方区分地再明显一点,这里推荐把圈叠在滑条尾上。
--01:01:238 (1,2,1) - 注意ds,推荐把条圈之间改成overlap
--插入一句,这个diff作为Light Insane再有这种01:25:424 (1,2) - 大间距好像就不太合适了,推荐把所有1/2比较多的section的1/1的排列都用overlap
--01:29:610 (2,3,) - 01:32:052 (4,5) - 丑,老老实实用三个点的弯就可以了。顺便这个01:32:052 (4,5) - 间距要小一点,否则看不出是1/4
--01:34:029 - 01:48:912 - 这里加个圈好像更好。你如果不想把节奏弄得太密的话,可以抄这里的节奏01:55:191 (1,2,3) -
--02:01:354 (1) - 这个转盘同Insane
--02:06:354 (1,2,3,4,5) - 这里的节奏不好,没压好重音的原因。

Hard
--开头那段的NC好乱,四拍一NC就行了。
--00:34:261 (3,4) - 00:36:354 (1,2) - 新人杀手。打Hard的玩家可搞不懂这NC的作用,推荐把隔一拍的那种用stack
--01:13:796 (3,1) - 间距太大了。
