Am I the only one planning to have no sleep at all, miss school just to watch this?
You are waaay too much into this. I am excited to watch the OWC too, but come on...Athrun_Yamato wrote:

I'd really be interested in seeing this. Not to bash on the current casters, but they really add nothing much to the livestream while most of the players jesse mentioned entertain for money via streaming. I'm sure they would serve as way better casters. MWC can kind of prove why we really need better casters, considering Mr Color, arguably the best and most enthusiastic, appears not to be casting this time.jesus1412 wrote:
Alright I guess pm's aren't the place to ask so here goes. Raiku, Azer and I have been discussing commentating the OWC this year and we'd all be happy to participate in it. People have already asked for some pro players to commentate and the three of us fit that category. We're pretty serious about it and we have a few reasons as to why it'd be good for us to do so:
1: We're all native English speakers with pretty clear voices.
2: We have all modded maps extensively, one of us is a BAT and another of us has experienced the full ranking process meaning we understand the technical aspects of maps.
3: We're fairly popular within the community so it wouldn't be bizarre to see us commentate.
4: We have experienced live streaming before and can handle the pressure very well.
5: We're GOOD PLAYERS, we know what we're talking about when we discuss how maps play and which areas are difficult.
6: We have diverse playing styles and expertise within the game and hence can (as a group) relate to neigh all of the players in some way.
7: We will most likely all be participating in the OWC and hence can convey the feelings of the players via our own experiences.
8: We've all been around for a long time and have knowledge of the games history.
So yes, we'd love a reply.

So that means that even though my country has sent the first request than others, if the team has "low rank" or isn't "very competitive rank", will not be selected?
I need to clarify that doubt please.
But that’s stupid because I’ve heard from different individuals that it is “The first 32 countries that register” and what you just said directly contradicts that. If it is like that, there should be a notification on the Registration thread that says: ‘Send your registration but keep in mind that only 32 countries will be accepted, which we will pick based on the competitiveness of the country/team’ because I know of many countries that have never participated on the OWC that were waiting for your Registration thread in order to participate. In the case that the countries that are more ‘competitive’ are registered, those countries would have lost their time and opportunity believing that they were registered for sure just to be cancelled without knowing why (Because not everyone reads the Discussion thread). Basically, very few of the countries that wanted to participate for the first time will make it. I think that is unfair imo.jesus1412 wrote:

this is the owc! world cup. it makes sense to have the top 32 teams enter into the competition. it was "The first 32 countries that register" last year i believe, but this is a much better way of doing things
Raw pp values of the registered players.Gigo wrote:
I am curious about something. Let's say that 31 of the spots are already taken and several countries of very similar "competitiveness value" are fighting for the last spot. Who decides then which country will get it? I mean, we can't use https://osu.ppy.sh/p/countryranking as a reference value, because that page hasn't been updated in a while, so... how is it decided?
I think you are ignoring the fact that in the puush that I posted it says clearly that the first 32 countries that would send the registration would have been the ones to get into the OWC 2014. If that isn’t the case, then does it mean that a player that has more rank than I do have more privilege to participate than myself? Even when my country sent our registration first and they posted theirs days after? That is unfair in many ways.deadbeat wrote:
Preliminary rounds shouldn't be needed imo. The tournament management will have a way of identifying the top 32 teams for entry. also there people will be disappointed no matter how this is done. it's a simple fact that can't be avoided
... Good.jesus1412 wrote:

Jesse and Raiku started "petition" together with Azer, what happened with him commentating?Loctav wrote:
Anyways, added Raiku and jesse as commentators.
To ensure valid and serious registrations, any registration and change will be checked by the Tournament Management. And moreover:
* The Tournament Management may reject registrations due to insufficient gameplay abilities.
* The Game Administration may reject registrations due to the violation of the Terms of Services
The total amount of teams is 32.Any discussion about this is unneeded. Please consider, that the ruleset nowhere says "first comes, first serves" anymore, unlike the previous OWC. This rule has been removed.
I never said that. I only said that the OWC has 32 teams, therefore I only answered the first question, not the second. I didn't answer the 2nd one because it was not decided yet.Albertol wrote:

* The Tournament Management may reject registrations due to insufficient gameplay abilities.I would want you and only you (Loctav) to respond this next question to end my commentaries about this issue: Are you saying that the countries that have mostly average players simply won’t have a chance to enter the OWC 2014 if the other countries with more skilled players enter?
Holy shit dude just accept there is more than 32 countries and that people are going to be let down no matter what.Albertol wrote:
With all due respect I think there was a mistake by responding like that to the PM, you should have clarified that that rule was not yet decided and because of that you were not capable of giving me an answer. That user and many others that have seen those puush understood that you answered positively to both questions asked, it would be better to make things clear next time. I apologize if I said any comment out of place.
Now, in respect to that rule:* The Tournament Management may reject registrations due to insufficient gameplay abilities.I would want you and only you (Loctav) to respond this next question to end my commentaries about this issue: Are you saying that the countries that have mostly average players simply won’t have a chance to enter the OWC 2014 if the other countries with more skilled players enter?
It doesnt matter, you've had your answer multiple times and it's literally common fucking sense.Albertol wrote:

sadly we lost 3 very skilled norwegian players this year to "nah i don't really feel like playing ", almost our whole default players group. Still, we'll be able to deliver a strong performanceMr Color wrote:
Shout out to Norway though, I'm pretty sad to see them not advance in knockout stage but you guys have nothing to regret, you did really well and I'm sure you'll be back next year with a revenge :p
But he's right. This is a world cup. This is the best of the best vs the best of the best. If your teams and even your country's players are just mediocre, you won't get accepted. The only way to occupy a slot is to improve your and your mate's skills and then try again.Albertol wrote:

Ok. Good luuck Asia and Europe. It's your OWC.Loctav wrote:

I think it's going to be the same as last year, but having these vods on youtube would really help out, as the old vods in twitch from the last owc got deleted because of the time limit.buny wrote:
Are there going to be any VODs this year? And are they going to be uploaded onto another streaming site i.e. youtube?
Does that mean I can still e-peen from owc 2012? Yay.Loctav wrote:
We have them all locally stored (the past ones and in future also the new ones) and will see if we can upload it somewhere.
