Anyways im concerned about the current state of the world. I feel like the future isnt gonna be anything better. Examples like the conflicts between countries. climate rising and especially the rapid use of ai, possibly replacing jobs.

I might be exaggerating and should focus on being happier but sometimes i might think the opposite

Why are people concerned about "ai taking jobs"?

99% of stuff that could be automated isn't because it's cheaper to exploit people. Don't worry your place under your corporate overlords is safe.

i see. currently ai is indeed expensive because apparently it costs a lot of money to literally thank an ai lol. but i can imagine in the future that it will be less of a problem because of the improvements. but who knows. maybe ai will be obsolete for good

Current methodology is to treat AI as a bruteforce be-all solution. The equivalent of let an AI figure out how to solve one of those balls stuck in a maze balancing things. We have algorithms for solving mazes that are pretty good. We dont need AI for that. So the only thing that need AI is balancing. But no, lets jam into it everything and so it learns the entire thing. Oh not good enough? Make the network bigger. Not good enough still? Train it more. Get it more data. Finally it's good... just needs $$$ to power this behemoth running it because of how big the AI network needs to be for it to get the job done.

No need to worry. We live in the most peaceful time in recorded human history. The most profitable and utilizable form of news is inflammatory type shit. People are attracted to negativity like flys to a pile of shit. And shit sells like hotcakes.

Brand new technology replacing jobs is nothing new. If anything, it’s less about jobs being replaced and more about jobs being shifted around. Just look at the advent of the internet. Sooo many jobs at the time were “replaced” by technology and the internet, but look at how many new unthinkable jobs were created from it. It sucks for the people who were actively in certain workforces at the time, but humans will and must always adapt. The pendulum will always swing and humanity will always find a balance in all things.

As for climate, idk lol. We should probably do something about that.

Edit: keep in mind that what I say is coming from a mostly Na biased / centric point of view. What I say is mostly pertaining to a broader world view. Doesn’t necessarily apply to certain areas of the world the more narrow you get.

Unironically I (involuntarily) watched some AI podcasts and interviews on X and I thought they were real for a minute

It's the first time that I actually had no idea if what I was watching was real or AI wow
