Hey everyone. I wanted to make a forum because I wanted to yap about music production and answer any questions anyone might have about how to produce/mix/master music or just general audio production. Or even like, songwriting....or like....DAW choices....or like... what Dolby Atmos is.... ANYWAY.

I will be as descriptive as I can be (and will include pictures).

should every song follow the formula? (opening > stanza 1 > chorus > stanza 2 > chorus > closing) or are there cases where it's valid to not do so?

btw congrats on being married (chat i did not know he was chill like that)

I've been making music since I was 17. I dropped my first album using YouTube beats on my iPhone 6s. I primarily still use YouTube beats and simply record and edit my own vocals.

in 0 cases do you HAVE to follow intro>verse1>chorus>verse2>chorus>ending

in fact, I personally think it's nice to switch it up. but it really depends on what you want or what your idea is. there's an artist that simply does choruses and a verse (and her songs are like 1:20 long. I forgot her name.) as for there being "valid cases not to do so" my answer is simply "whatever you think is a valid case not to."

it mostly depends if you're completely ripping it or not. there's a gray area here that's extremely fine. if you are ripping it and trying to make money off of it, yes it's cheating and illegal. if you take a "sample" of a song, and edit it around and make something off of that, it's legal.

What headset or headphones is recommended for music making lel?

My brother gave me his corsair headset and it sounded horrendous comparing to the jbl one that i have. I had to customize the EQ and still didn’t sound good enough. But at the same time, my jbl headset isn’t good enough lol

in short, nothing unless it's by audio-technica or sennheiser. realistically you want to buy a pair of good speakers for your setup. unfortunately I dont own any so i can't give you any information on what's best

I wouldn't rlly buy speakers, cuz I'm afraid of blasting music at night and then getting yelled at my neighbors because of it lel. I would probably rent a studio or buying acoustic foam before getting those speakers lel

but ngl Sennheiser sounds promising to me, so ill put that on my wishlist lel
