Problem details: Basically when I play with mouse sometimes I move it down to a point in which it can’t move anymore. What should I do about this?

Video or screenshot showing the problem:

osu! version: Stable 20240123 (latest)

What you are experiencing is mouse drift. There isn’t much that can be done but periodically moving it back to its starting position/spot that you had.

You can increase the DPI/sensitivity to help mitigate it but that doesn’t really fix the issue just lessens the degree at which you experience it.

(moved from Help, as it seems more a gameplay related issue than a technical one)

you cant get rid of mouse drift, you can only learn to deal with it
there is no hiding from mouse drift demons

it would make sense since i cant imagine hamster playing with a tablet pen

unless it would be a jacked hamster, then it would make sense

tap x chomik 😎

Best ways to deal with mouse drift are

1. Higher DPI/Sensitivity
2. Bigger mousepad
3. Pause on long sliders, long spinners, or breaks and adjust your grip/position

Personally I do not get affected by mouse drift often even though I use a very heavy mouse at 800dpi 1.0x sens

yeah just use a higher sensitivty/dpi

I literally had no mouse space when I started osu! but I still made it work just by playing with a very high dpi

I got myself a bigger mouse pad to play on and higher sensitivity, and I was fine. Otherwise I didn't have any troubles.

(Even then, the issue was more about not having the room to do the jumps I wanted to at the time more than mouse drift. This was also back when I was in the high 800K-1M where the square jumps of Miracle Sugite Yabai [Normal] were hard for me, so take that as you will.)
