I don't really spend too much on shoes.

For the longest time I'd wear Anko Schol Shoes from Kmart to school, but a few months ago I decided to buy actual leather shoes from some British Manufacturer, and holy shit they're so much better. Don't break, extremely durable, logo inside the shoe doesn't fade, good size. That's probably the one time I consider such a price tag on shoes to not be a waste.

As for sports and outdoor, I'm wearing whatever I stole from my dad. Works just fine.

Never had those proper school shoes. During my earlier school days, I wore leather asics. The shoes held up well. If it weren't for my foot changing in size, we probably would've never had to buy new shoes. Only now have I changed to adidas for school shoes. The shoes are comfy, but I've only had em for about 6 or 5 months, already have a hole in. Asics would never.

Sneakers for classes and a day when I need to walk a lot, otherwise I wear flip-flops like these with no socks

This is the exact model of one of my flip-flops btw I regularly wear this.

The "Star Elephant". I often pack these when I go on a trip since it's veeery thin and therefore doesn't take much space when packed. Who would want to wear sneakers all day anyways?

i wear combat boots that my friend gave me
not showing pic bc privacy reasons

How tf would you tie those shoelaces everyday 😭😭😭

It's heavy. But when you wear it, it feels like you've been given the power to conquer all the puddles and dirts out there!

Climbing shoes. When mountain climbing became a widespread thing, it was mostly students mountaineering for fun. Intelligent, sure, but still students with their habitual desire to overpower everyone else. Perhaps they were fueled with romanticism, looking at the old photographs of people climbing up. That's when climbing shoes must've been invented. Or at least started being in use, those pesky studentds started wearing them exclusively. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. Apart from students, climbing for fun was a thing rich people did. To show off their sense of privilege, they made the climbing shoes, very specific and very expensive, it became a symbol not just of climbers, but of a social rank of climbers. The mountains without these shoes are dangerous without a doubt. It's a special place where only the chosen ones survive. To further enhance this fact, to make it significantly more different, the climbing shoes were made. This special privilege did not make them better at mountaineering, it did not make them a better human being. Safety from injuries, from sprains, etc — all of which were afterthoughts. This continues to the present day. The only good thing is that heavy climbing boots are going out of the trend. Back then light climbing shoes were looked down upon. It wasn't good, it wasn't special. However we're still yet to reach the actual enlightment, even after all these years. It's the government fault.

A design flaw of modern shoes is the toe box.

Our feet were not made to be crammed into that kind of taper, and doing since childhood fucks up our toes, pushing them together and creating issues like bunions, hammer toes, and other toe/foot conditions as well as weakening of the muscles.

But natural toe boxes are ugly so the issue persists.

That's why I get wide shoes but my toes are already fucked because I grew up with dumb parents who wouldn't listen to me when I said my shoes hurt because they were too small
