Review that rhythm game called "osu!"
osu! is an interesting rhythm game where one must click circles to the beat.
to start with, this game is actually quite fun and addicting. many people come back to osu! for the global ranking, while others come back for performance points. also, osu! is a rhythm game, meaning that you won't have to play the same sequences of songs, but you can actually play a whole variety of songs, going from one genre to another. these two things heavily add to osu!'s replay-ability, making it an even better game in my opinion. what's even more better is that you yourself can make your own songs, and share them to the world for others to play, so you yourself can contribute to the fun! also, you can even customize the way the game looks using the small but heavily impactful skins feature. you can have a skin where hatsune miku glows everywhere, then a skin where club penguin's penguins waddle around the screen. it's awesome!
but enough about what happens outside, let's actually talk about what happens inside.
osu!'s core gameplay revolves around three things, circles, spinners, and sliders. luckily, these three mechanics are simple and easy to learn, only requiring very little practice to master. many songs take these three things and expand them into more then what they were supposed to be, like circles being turned into challenging streams, and so and so fourth. but the thing is, not everyone is a master at clicking circles. luckily, osu comes with three other gamemodes, like ctb, mania, and taiko. catch the beat is an odd yet refreshing gamemode where you control a character holding a plate, and fruit comes falling from the sky. you use the arrow keys to control the character, and of course catch the fruit. however, what makes this gamemode challenging is the speed up ability. you press down the mouse button and your character starts zooming across the screen, thus catching even more fruit. mania plays like ddr, or stepmania. you've got four keys, where you press the notes that come flying down. but again, that's not all. if it gets too easy, you can add even more notes, going from 5 notes to 12 notes at a time! taiko is also a very interesting gamemode, which is very similar to the taiko arcade game. you use separate keys to press a red note, and a blue note. what makes this really special is that taiko also comes with it's own spinner, and sometimes really challenging songs to drum through. all of these gamemodes really makes osu! replayable, and in general, playable for everyone.
to conclude, osu! is an awesome rhythm game where one must click circles to the beat. it is fully customizable, and replayable, featuring all sorts of mechanics and modes so everyone can enjoy the game. it comes with many features that keep you crawling back for more and more, making the playerbase alive and healthy.
10/10 game
