It seems like 7k is dying these days.
I think the reason is because it is difficult to enter.
In the case of the Korean community, there are quite a lot of informations for beginners or intermediate, but in the case of foreign countries, there seems to be not much information.
So I decided to translate Korean community's information to revive 7k field

Method I used to practice 7 keys - Puky at 2019.08.16
I have been playing mania for about 4 years, and today i'll share my practice method a little.
Not helpful to the masters lol.
I was originally a 4k player. At that time, I was stuck in the 800th place, so I started with 7k because I wanted to raise my rank.
At the time, 4k 800th wasn't as high as it is now. It would have been possible if you could barely S to Aiae half time.
I don't have any arcade rhythm game experience, so when I entered 7k, I didn't know what to do.
At first, I started with 7k attached to the 4k Ranked map.
I tried 1~2 star maps, but the difficulty wasn't the problem here.
I can read it, but the star is meaningless because I was confused which key to press.
I was annoyed and frustrated because I couldn't play even though I could see it.
Maybe because of this reason, there are many players who can't even start 7k and only do 4k.
It depends on what you think, when I first entered 4k, it was the same as it was then and now.
At first, you just have to adjust to pressing the right key, and then try to get used to certain patterns by experiencing various Ranked Maps.
Short steps (ex 2345 7654), hitting two at the same time (ex 23 56), one long note + other single notes are usual difficult at low difficulty levels.
The ☆1~☆2 section is the fastest time to pierce under the assumption that you have practiced steadily, so I don't think you need a practice method.
It's just whether you practice steadily or not.
After a few weeks of initiation, I started to have fun, so I touched the 3☆ maps.
I felt good when I managed to clear it, so I liked it even after clearing 3☆ Elemental Creation hyper
From this point on, aim to clear the entire Ranked Map under 5☆.
I twisted my body to barely clear 4~5☆ maps.
So far, I've only improved my skills by clearing Ranked maps, but I can't guarantee this is an efficient way.
But other users also said that they only practiced Ranked maps at first.
You know, There were no substitutes. And the maps were kind of stupid back then, but these days, Ranked map is definitely worth it. There are many songs and it's fun to play.
If you're used to it to a certain extent, let's achieve S to ☆4.5 Scarlet Faith, ☆5 Identical Conflict
By doing those you will be more comfortable later
After those, you're not a newbie anymore and you just have to be ready to improve.
Quickly pick up all the BMS Convert Pack and take a quick look from Lv.1.
If you've achieved Ranked maps S up there, you're be able to play around lv.7~8
In Newbie's case, barely clearing was the answer, but now clearing with A is the answer.
Practice method is very simple
Lv.5 A clear >> Lv.6 attempt
Lv.6 A clear >> Lv.7 attempt
Lv.7 B clear >> Lv.7 Touring
You can do whatever you want to do for a map.
If you A cleared, pass the corresponding level, and if less than A, tour the corresponding level.
BMS is a game with 7+1keys, but since there are only 7k in converted maps, sometimes there might be songs that are too easy for corresponding level.
You have to be able to distinguish those for yourself.
Your Judgment skill is more likely to fall behind other people because this is an extreme process power-oriented training method.
However, if you practice that way, you will improve your skills surprisingly quickly.
Sometimes BMS converted maps can be boring or you may want to do weeb maps.
Fortunately, there are many fun BMS style unranked maps that can be combined with no-fun BMS Convert maps these days, so look for them (typically kawawa, qodtjr map)
They are good at mapping BMS style with weeb songs.
From this time on, I hope you don't have eyes on the Ranked map for a while. Think you'll be able to improve later and beat them at once.
Soon, when you see yourself touching Lv.19~20, try all the MWC songs and practice them, or find some maps by famous mappers.
And try some PP farming if you want.
By this time you'll found the right way to practice.
Maybe my method is right, maybe you will found another way.
And the reason I told you not to play ranked maps is because playing those are too easy to get into bad habits.
If you are cursed, you often can't have good records even though your skills have improved.
And make a rival who is slightly above your ability.
He don't have to be a person you know and you don't have to be friendly. It's better to make a rival a stranger.
If you catch up with your rival's record, you'll feel a sense of accomplishment, and very motivated.
Change your rival as soon as you surpass him
If you want to raise your ranking, you shouldn't spectate each other with him and giggle like a fool during your practice time. I think it's the most waste of time.
Anyway, advice is possible, but there is no answer.
The key is how fast you find the right practice for you.
It's important to practice efficiently.
Don't play the same song meaninglessly.
I still have a hard time playing HAELEQUIN...
It always seems the same, but looking back it's a game that grows really fast
