osu is one of only very few games where i actually made such close friends. Most games i only really interact with people when it's relevant for the game, like raiding or dungeons in wow. and the worst part is that even if you ensure you get some actual means of communicating with them outside games (discord/social media/etc) there is still a chance they might just decide to disappear one day without notice and never get to talk to them ever again. it's frightening to think about, and it's part of the reason why i try not to get too attached to online people anymore
