Please see https://osu-mac.readthedocs.io/en/latest/issues/dotnet.html and let us know how it goes!

The error message in the window is safe to ignore (it's Discord Rich Presence) and the most important diagnostic tool is the Wineskin Test Run and the Agent Report. Thanks! :D

I'll update this on my osu!mac website (I hope it's ok if I use your screenshot, let me know if it isn't)
Yes it's ok!

This appears after i enter the command, did i do something wrong?

Ah, it's two separate commands. Not sure why I structured like that, so I'll just give you one command that you can write in one line

Try running this:

start ../../osu!/osu!

And screenshot the output here. You can put images in a bbcode box ([box]) so they don't take up too much space on the forum as well

If you're still experiencing issues, please perform a Wineskin Test Run - instructions at https://osu-mac.readthedocs.io/en/latest/issues/troubleshooting.html#generating-logs-for-wineskin or pasted below:

Test Run
Generating a Test Run through Wineskin
  1. Locate your osu! installation.
  2. Right click on it, then select Show Package Contents.
  3. Open Wineskin.
  4. Click Advanced.
  5. Click Test Run. If osu! starts successfully (even with glitches), you can then close the program down. Once the program has either closed or crashed, a dialog will pop up asking you whether you want to view Test Run Logs. Click Yes.
  6. Copy the results of your Test Run logs to a pastebin such as paste.ubuntu.com set to never expire. Then attach the link in a reply to this thread, along with the report from osu!macOS Agent in Step 1.
If you need any help with any of the steps outlined here, check out https://osu-mac.readthedocs.io/en/latest/issues/troubleshooting.html or feel free to make a reply back here on the forum. Thanks!
Unfortunately it still doesn't work (the osu logo appears and disappears quickly) so I do the test run

Wait, the osu! logo appears? And that means there would be no cmd output immediately like I was hoping for. No immediately fixable things in the Test Run that I can see. However, the last line of output returns a full-on "deadbeef" kernel crash.

0035:fixme:ntdll:EtwEventUnregister (deadbeef) stub.

I get deadbeef error codes on my runs though (4 to be precise) so I'm still not sure whether it's related to your issue.

Yea, I'm not really too sure what could be causing. You may need to double click a few times, or change the affinity in Task Manager (community/forums/posts/8171838) which could iron out any CPU issues. Lastly, have you tried the Intel Wineskin? (Assuming you're on M1)

But if the osu! logo appears, that means the game is able to start. Just having issues running, or the updater is failing somewhere.

I couldn't change the affinity in Task Manager, because that list doesn't appear. I think it is because my osu isn't able to run...?

So Intel Wineskin lets you get at least to the updater. Maybe it could be something wrong with the update? Could you check your update.log file and see if there's anything important there? I also wonder whether a Test Run with the Intel Wineskin might bring something different. That might be worth running again just to see if anything different pops up.

Can you try updating through osu!macOS Agent (Other tab) and also update dotnet? https://osu-mac.readthedocs.io/en/latest/issues/dotnet.html#updating-dotnet

That narrows it down a little bit... at least we can see osu! is attempting to start but then dying on that graphics menu. I'm surprised that both the Intel and Rosetta Wineskins fail for you at what appears to be a low-level issue.

I'm going to try and see if I can get you to do a winedbg log which is about as deep down as you can get. But it's a bit of a pain in the butt to get working so I might need a bit more time to work on it. I'm hoping someone else has better ideas than me because I'm really not sure what's going on here - I haven't seen an issue where both Wineskins fail with no useful output. Would there be potentially any interfering programs you have on your computer? (Also what are your system specs?)

Anyway, I'll get back to you asap with instructions for a winedbg if I can figure it out. It wouldn't hurt to try reinstalling both and just making sure that there isn't anything affecting it.

***

Anyway, on a side note with some research I suspect there's a race condition affecting the (particularly older Wineskins) which might explain the earlier inconsistency in startups but I think the problem's disappeared for now with the newer Wineskins. I don't think it's as big of a problem anymore but for future reference, it could be a race condition somewhere.

Can you please paste the report from osu!macOS Agent?

The execute.bat file goes into the drive_c/osu! folder right? Then you have to select it in Wineskin settings.

It doesn't really matter the location of the file, but that's the default on all new Wineskins.

Test run: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/yZ2cKcm82s/
macOS agent report: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/pdsjQP8xPD/

Yes I'm on M1, i just tried the Intel Wineskin and it works suprisingly a little bit more than the M1 Wineskin, but it still crashes after the osu updater finished running 😂 (and the osu logo appeared also here for some seconds)

Test run Intel: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/Xcn9j6xszG/
update_success.log: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/KXGd3Y2YCH/

and I got this when I open osu after running the dotnet452 update

Also a PSA for anyone who's trying to run osu! on Monterey (I think there was one person who mentioned it) - Wineskin isn't supported on it - more info here: https://github.com/Gcenx/WineskinServer/issues/139 - in this case no choice but to wait for a fix upstream from Gcenx, CodeWeavers and Apple.

The filename including extension is execute.bat - it is a Windows batch file.

If it doesn't exist already you can create it with TextEdit. Just make sure you save it as a .bat file.

Also a PSA for anyone who's trying to run osu! on Monterey (I think there was one person who mentioned it) - Wineskin isn't supported on it - more info here: https://github.com/Gcenx/WineskinServer/issues/139 - in this case no choice but to wait for a fix upstream from Gcenx, CodeWeavers and Apple.

what type of file do i put in it? like text edit, notes, word or what?

The filename including extension is execute.bat - it is a Windows batch file.

If it doesn't exist already you can create it with TextEdit. Just make sure you save it as a .bat file.
Ok thanks

hi, when I launch osu! on my m1 MBA I get two errors then the game starts then stops instantly.
Here's how the command line looks when I launch: https://i.imgur.com/zoFVSSN.png

Heyo, could you please try these troubleshooting steps? :)

Troubleshooting steps
Step 1: See whether you can troubleshoot the problem yourself
Many issues already have solutions available to them. Check out the installation guide, osu!mac documentation project and the outdated troubleshooting guide.

If you're still unable to solve your issue, move onto the next step.

Step 2: Report and repair using osu!macOS Agent
  1. Download the latest version of Technocoder's osu!macOS Agent - older versions may have incompatibilities or bugs, especially with newer wrappers.
  2. Once it finishes downloading, open osu!macOS Agent.
  3. If you haven't already done so, click the Select button and browse to osu!.app's location. The text box should display its filepath (e.g ~/Users/firefly/Desktop/osu!.app) and Wine Engine (e.g WS11WineCX64Bit19.0.1-1)
  4. Select the Troubleshoot tab, then click Scan.
  5. After the scan completes, click Repair.
  6. If this doesn't fix your issue, click Copy Report. Copy the contents into a reply to this thread and we'll do our best to help you out! Please don't forget to do a Test Run as outlined in the next step.
Step 3: Generating a Test Run through Wineskin
Thanks!

In particular a osu!macOS Agent report and a Test Run would be handy :) thank you

This happens after i open the osu! file, then the window crash immediately😭

Click Yes.

Unfortunately it still doesn't work (the osu logo appears and disappears quickly) so I do the test run
Test run: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/yZ2cKcm82s/
macOS agent report: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/pdsjQP8xPD/

Yes I'm on M1, i just tried the Intel Wineskin and it works suprisingly a little bit more than the M1 Wineskin, but it still crashes after the osu updater finished running 😂 (and the osu logo appeared also here for some seconds)

Test run Intel: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/Xcn9j6xszG/
update_success.log: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/KXGd3Y2YCH/

and I got this when I open osu after running the dotnet452 update

What issue are you having exactly? Can you send a video?
I didn't find any interfering programs...my system specs : macOS Big Sur, MacBook Air (M1, 2020), 8GB
Thank you for doing this, I will be waiting for your reply :)

Firstly my apologies for taking so long to get back to you.

I've looked over your log files and errors a number of times now and I still am unsure of what is happening from that alone. I did mention and look into a winedbg which would basically output a full list of everything osu! would be doing. Ideally with that, I could see at what point it would crash. Unfortunately, winedbg doesn't actually work on this osu! Wineskin because of incompatibilities between 32-bit and 64-bit, which I confirmed with Gcenx who maintains the version of Wineskin Technocoder is using for his osu! wrapper.

The best idea I had after that was using another debugger called gdb which would hopefully work. I have started work on a program that would execute gdb in a friendly way for normal users but this will take a decent time. It could be a potential debugging option for future users who have trouble with osu! if I ever finish it, but I don't see it as being of much help right now. I tried running gdb without any friendly interface and it hung on osu! - no useful output included.

I'm still trying to think of any simple fix I've missed or I haven't done. But to confirm, you've reinstalled both versions of the osu! wrapper running, ran Test Run logs, etc. And I still can't identify any behaviour in any screenshots or logs you've sent here that would be meaningful.

I wonder if there is anyone else who lurks this thread that knows what's going on. Sometimes, one must admit defeat however :(

Looking back at the logs you have provided, it really does look like it just quit. I'm comparing it to my own logs (which is limited by the fact I am using an Intel x86 Mac) and the only interesting thing is the fact that it looks like some certificates didn't work in your Intel Wineskin log - but I don't assume that would entirely silently crash the program.

At this point, I'm not really sure about it. I would recommend trying the following:

- Update your osu! executable through osu!macOS Agent (https://osu-mac.readthedocs.io/en/latest/install/silicon.html#step-3-updating-osu) which may fix things possibly if the problem lies in osu! rather than the Wineskin
- If it's been some time since the last attempt, try reinstalling either version of osu! again, again possibly making Test Run logs
- Try this original beta version of the Catalina Wineskin: https://mega.nz/#!1wUhSK5b!UOh3p73XnupbZktFgsljieoIdf_L1PkxDFwjBvflNGM - I doubt it will change anything but if there were any regressions introduced in later builds that we didn't catch until now we might as well test it out
- (before doing this make a backup of important user data)Download the osu! executable from home/download yourself, clear the contents of osu! (except for execute.bat) and just leave the one osu!.exe inside that folder

So that's all I have at the moment. If I come up with anything else you'll be the first to know but if you're still having trouble, feel free to try the above and if you find anything interesting definitely let us know :) Sorry I couldn't be of more help

Edit: I might still try and work on getting a gdb backtrace although I'm not sure how helpful that would be, + maybe some other ideas as I detail in the post below.

From the logs it looks like the game starts and at least gets to the menu screen before crashing instantly?

Another weird error that I can't identify the cause of yet, possibly similar to rabbitdragonbm and some other people's issues. I'll try to take a look at it soon. For now we can assume they're not related issues but I wouldn't be surprised if they were and I'll see if comparing the logs bring any similarities.

Going to give gdb and some other things another shot when I have time, hopefully that provides some useful info to both rabbitdragonbm and yours' issue.

Could you try updating through osu!macOS Agent? https://osu-mac.readthedocs.io/en/latest/install/silicon.html#step-3-updating-osu

————

To everyone else:

I'm currently bogged down significantly with exams and study :( Apologies for slightly disappearing over the last couple weeks. I am trying to look through the core issues when I have time, but since we haven't had this issue before, it may take some time before any fix is found.

If you do find a fix before me, please let us know before. This saves us time in trying to solve an (already-resolved) issue, and helps other people solve their issues before.

Currently, I'm working to debug osu! through LLDB (instead of GDB), and am going to try setting breakpoint at key intervals. But I also want to correlate this potentially, with what I see in your log files. Thanks for your patience :)

As mentioned before, with exams and other things in the way, it may be some time before we can find any fixes, so if you find one, do let us know :) This will ensure that a lot of people will be able to solve their issues faster and easily. In the meantime, I intend to continue working through and finding a potential solution, and currently am on track to devising debugger logic which then I'll hopefully be able to send to you all, to see what's up on your Wineskin.

In addition, I'm going to look through these logs once more properly, see if I can find any differences between users or architectures, and see whether I've potentially missed anything.

Thanks for your help, and sorry for the inactivity

So uh... I got osu on this Mac, and I'm noticing a severe input delay..especially playing taiko. Is that something that has to deal with the Mac itself?

If you're coming from Windows then, yes, the input delay is pretty significant. Make sure that you're also using the US keyboard layout (just in case) as I know someone else had severe input lag with a different layout.

(happens with logitech G 203 mouse) ive encountered a problem with frame rate in the (Intel Wineskin wrapper) the game runs Beatifully at 120fps in a low end macbook and framedrops dont go any lower than 95 or 100, however once some time passes, around 10-15-20-30 minutes the game starts to freeze everytime you move the mouse anywhere, this already happens if you set the polling rate to 1000hz, however once you put it to 500hz it is solved, only problem is that im not sure wether 500Hz is only smooth for a set amount of time or if its an external problem, just wanted to report that for anyone that uses gaming mouse gear and or drivers
aidswidjaja
It only happens when you're using the mouse, and only after 30 mins when the polling rate is 1000 Hz? Hmm.. interesting.

Some ideas:

- Earlier versions of Big Sur have had polling issues so try updating.
- Turning on V-Sync *may* help potentially.
- Also try turning on Raw Input in osu!.
- Check CPU usage, and if it's capping out then likely mouse / osu! performance will be impacted

Anything above 125 Hz is likely to have issues running on WINE or even just macOS in general. There's quite a lot of issues online about high polling rates and WINE, which you might be able to take a look at. Generally speaking, isolating the issue is quite challenging since it could be caused by a variety of factors. CPU usage, WINE, drivers, etc. can all affect gameplay experience with the mouse.

There's quite a number of things you can try but as I said before, it's pretty hard to isolate what issue it is and you'll have to try going through various internet solutions until you might find one that works. Otherwise, the only thing you can really do is lower to 125 Hz.

https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46976

Best of luck!

the polling rate issue seemed to be fixed just by using 500Hz, however for some reason after updating from mojave 10.14.5 to 10.14.6 the game runs fine for about 3 seconds mouse movement and everything, but after that time passes moving the mouse scalates the delay by 56ms and a stable 17ms when playing (with the reduce frame drops option on), i decided to install catalina to see if that fixes it but it didnt change much, ill try reinstalling osu and see if something happens

(update) To make it more clear, i decided to test this issue with Katana ZERO wich uses a lot of mouse movement at first in mojave 10.14.6 it was notably laggy when i moved my mouse most of the time, but as i updgraded to catalina Katana ZERO seems to run just fine, so to continue the previous issue; Osu seems to be the only game affected by this lag altough im not sure what the issue is, no GPU or RAM heavy task is runing in the background while osu is running, i tried with polling rate of 1000hz, 500hz, 250hz and 125. Discord wich has shown to slow down the game is not open, my FAN is at its fastest speed, take in mind non of this issues happened while i had mac os mojave 10.14.5 and my graphics card and proccesor are able to handle games of similar weigth to osu with stable frames, Closed G hub to see if that was the problem but nothing happened, i put the "MyPCSucks = 1" slightly better but unplayable for the most part, i tried reinstalling but it seems the game still percists in giving me a hard time

I don't have a high-performance mouse so I can't really try to reproduce this. Your precise issue is reproduced here though: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/3700#issuecomment-609559241

I don't know if there's a regression from Mojave 10.14.5 to 10.14.6 (the changelog is vague and nothing stands out to me being something which would affect WINE). More likely a setting you changed got reverted/wiped during the update. But I wouldn't really know what the change would be or how you'd revert it. With Katana Zero, I presume you're running it natively, which is why you'd get better mouse performance there. Even if native games run well, that doesn't mean WINE games will run well either.

It's quite challenging to isolate the issue down. If your CPU/iGPU usage is high that could be a problem, so you should check that. This can be seen through Activity Monitor (for GPU hit Command-4). Other users reported switching from a USB3 to a USB2 port, or using an older Wine version (this requires you to build your own Wineskin wrapper), or turning off/on mouse acceleration would help. Regardless it is an issue with no known fix (https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/mouse_polling_rate#Polling_rate_resulting_in_lag_with_wine)

This issue is a pain to isolate, which is probably the reason why it never got properly supported in WINE. Bad macOS mouse support doesn't help this issue either. If I had to guess, it could be a CPU issue, so check performance. If it isn't that or any of the above solutions, then it's probably an upstream issue with WINE.

It would help if you posted your system specs too and how well the game runs at the different polling rates on your current version of macOS - 125, 250, 500, 1000 :)

—————

On another note, I have updated osu!mac with information on previous user reports surrounding the game crashing. https://osu-mac.readthedocs.io/en/latest/advanced/silentcrash

I believe it was a regression introduced with the osu! executable, but since the user reports have dried up I'm assuming that the regression has reversed, there is no point pursuing it further. For future issues like this, I'm working on a end user debugger software that should help if we ever run across those types of regressions again. Might take a while to develop so in the meantime keep the osu!macOS Agent reports and Wineskin Test Runs coming! (steps available at https://osu-mac.readthedocs.io/en/latest/issues/troubleshooting.html).

If you continue to experience issues with getting the game to run, please continue making replies either here in the thread or in the Help Forum and I'm sure someone will get around to it.

Personal thanks from me to Technocoder for his continued work on the Wineskin wrapper as well, and to Gcenx for maintaining the WineskinServer fork, as well as to everyone else who's helped out. Many hours of playtime clicking circles and (smashing keys in mania haha) have happened because of these guys!!

first of all, thank you for the detailed response, seconds of all i dont know if i should quote the reply or not considering its so long lol, but back to the point, ive tried playing osu Rosetta this morning after countlesly granting permissions to a bunch of apps as i just recently isntalled catalina, the game Somehow for some reason now runs like non of the above ever happened, as with the polling rate, 500HZ seems to run just fine at 1440x810 resolution both in game and in my overall resolution, i can feel a delay but osu itself dosent seem to detect it so ill try and test wether its the rosseta`s wrapper fault or if its some exterior problem, as to my specs here:

Graphics card: Intel HD Graphics 5000 (integrated)
RAM: 4GB 1600MHz DDR3
Proccesor: 1.3GHz Intel Core i5 (2 cores)
MAC OS: 10.15.7

thats all in the "About My Mac" section, ill try to update in the "Intel Wrapper" do take in mind that this text was written as i discovered this miraculous perfomance,so uhh yeah this might change pretty drastically, got to add that i also tested this with CSGO, its runs horrible at times but the perfomance is exactly the same as previous versions, nothing changed at all, Polling rate included and to answer the "Katana ZERO" question yes i did run it natively.

Also ill try to run a test in the 4 different polling rates as soon as i manage to stabilize Osu´s perfomance

small update: nvm what i just previously wrote, the game in rossetas wineskin runs well enough altough the frames go from 200 to 90 from time to time, MS are fine until a few seconds into the song it starts to go from 5.2ms to 8-10ms

intel Wineskin update: its pretty odd tbh but the game runs fine mouse movement and all up until a few seconds of the app being opened, for the first 4 seconds its the same fluid movement but up until 7-10 seconds it starts getting 14ms, altough the fps drops seem to have fixed themselves, whats even MORE odd is how the MS seem to stabilize to 5MS when i change the polling rate mid game, but after 2 seconds it jumps to 15ms automatically with no other number in between ever appearing as if the game just realized or something, also skins just make the MS even worse as well as the FPS too

Although it's slightly weird (but somewhat understandable) that permissions settings would affect your game performance, it at least confirms my theory there's no system-level regression.

I think from memory the Rosetta wrapper uses a newer engine than the Intel version. It sounds like a performance issue, especially considering the high CPU usage of polling rates combined with your specs. I assume 1000Hz would still be too high for you then? I would check to see your performance as mentioned above, and if its capping out then that would be a performance limitation of your computer. I doubt it would be a WINE issue if you're playing decently past 125Hz.

I might make an osu!mac (https://osu-mac.readthedocs.io) entry about this, but it does seem something hard to diagnose so I'm happy you figured out a way to play!
SPM37
Dont get me wrong the game is very annoying to use even at 125hz so i doubt i will be playing osu for a while, however considering that this all started since i installed macOS Mojave`s 10.14.6 security update wich has shown to make games run horribly, then id say ill have to format the Mac and if i happen to see a perfomance boost in between MacOS mojave 10.14.0 - 10.14.5 then ill come back and report on that as well, polling rate seems fine from 500Hz to 125HZ to clarify, before i updated to the security update it was smoothly running at 120FPS and 5.3MS occasionally spiking at 6.0ms but nothing major, its seems weird to me that this specific security update is so detrimental for games so for now if anybody reading this is considering doing that small security update id say it would be better to either leave it like it is or just update to Catalina straigth away, also thank you for the responses. Also my Mac is from 2013, so maybe catalina has some problems with that altough i wouldnt be able to tell, forgot to add but Turning on Raw Input seems to make both input lag and Fps lag more notorious

So you're saying osu! game performance died (even @ 125Hz) when you updated to 10.14.6? But previous versions of Mojave and also Catalina have better game performance?

I don't think it is necessary to format your Mac. I doubt that a minor system update would affect WINE to that extent. Before you do that, try running your computer in Safe Mode then run osu!. If the game still runs poorly there, then I guess you can reformat if you are unable to determine any other cause, but I'm skeptical that the cause of this was the security update, although maybe during an update process a setting got toggled, like your permissions for example (which improved your performance from what I can see) - but again, there is only one way to find out if this is something you'd like to try.

You should keep in mind your Mac is relatively old. I'm surprised you managed to get 120 fps and 5.3ms. I'm on a 2016 MBP and I get 25ms minimum where I have cappped the framerate at 60fps.

I'm interested in hearing back from your findings! :) if the security update does in fact affect game performance, I'll pull out an old Mac and check it out for myself. Unfortunately I can't reproduce either the Mojave performance impact or the mouse polling rate for myself now.

i have replicated this issue 2 times this one included, i remember formating my mac back to mountain lion before because of this, i even remember slowly updating my way from Mojave 10.14.1 to 10.14.15 since i was curious wich update ruined the games perfomance, eventually i stoped at 10.14.5 as time passed i guess i forgot about it and since i already started to download the update i had no option but to download it mostly because it was making up space in my hard drive, and sure enough the issue happened again, by this im pretty sure it does affect something since i was playing fine before updating, i can back this up by the fact that the update only took about 15-30 mins and after the restart the issue started happening and it seems odd that my pc just started to malfunction in a 15-30 min timespan, aditionally other games started to malfunction as well with the exception of CSGO wich i tested after updating to catalina, altough if this issue only affects wine then i would have to test it with different games, GTA San andreas comes to mind since i do remember it being laggy at some point altough i dont remember the update in wich this happened so i cant really back this up,

ive done every trick in the book to run osu at its best perfomance but i didnt get any satisfying results
also the game itself runs somewhat laggy by default so to run it at a better perfomance i usually just go to osu! files and go to osu."yourMacOsUsername".cfg and look for "MyPCSucks = 0" then change it to 1, in almost every wrapper of osu of this projects life span i have tried it seems to do the job just fine, only with this issue has this not worked, ive also tried and incredibly low end skin but still getting lag and input lag spikes and bad input lag overall as well

well is gonna be a pain re downloading everything in my pc thats for sure,

also TETR.io`s desktop app seems to work fine as well, i added this since the game seems to have similar hardware requirements to osu but aside from that nothing really important

So you're saying the update both impacted osu! as well as other games and system behaviour, except for CS:GO?

This doesn't seem like something we can fix on our end. If there's multiple applications and system functionality being impacted by this system upgrade, you should either update to the latest version or revert back to an older version.

If you think this is an issue with the Wineskin however (as in, everything else works normally except for the wrapper) - then please let us know. As you mentioned it worked before, but if other (native) games aren't working as well, it's not a Wine issue. Feel free to let us know any problems, but it seems like unfortunately there's a problem with your computer, so we can't do much from our end except for advice on how to try and go about diagnosing it, which of course we're happy to do

What tablet are you using, and have you installed tablet drivers on Mac? I'm not sure about tablets since I don't own one myself.

You should install try the most recent version of the Wineskin first (aka Rosetta Wineskin). If that doesn't work, then try the Intel Wineskin. If you believe that a legacy download will help fix your problem, you can use the links under Outdated Downloads in the top post. Please let us know if there is something working in older version, which isn't working in newer versions.

All download links are available in the original post.

This report looks fine to me and if you try opening osu! again it should work. If it still doesn't work, please try this command.

sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine "~/path/to/my/osu\!.app"

where ~/path/to/my/osu\!.app is the local filepath to your osu! app. Please keep the quotation marks and backslash in the command.

Your macOS Python installation has been altered/corrupted. If it still doesn't work, for a workaround, right click osu! and then select Show Package Contents and copy all of the files inside into a new folder named "osu!", and then rename the folder to "osu!.app". If it still doesn't work then perhaps you need to relaunch osu! a few times.

Not sure what new file you're talking about?

Settings icons don't work, that's correct. If they're important to you, you can enable them using the steps in the original thread, but this will break CJK icons in the process.

Hello, I seem to be facing the [SilentCrash](https://osu-mac.readthedocs.io/en/latest/advanced/silentcrash.html) bug. TLDR, I open the osu in any method, nothing shows up (no wine no terminal nothing, no wine processes in activity monitor). I used osu debug agent for troubleshoot-repair, nothing is wrong.

Reinstalling solved the problem tho, which unfortunately I did before reading your docs. I will help debug it if the problem appears again (which it will from my experience).

Did reinstalling (dotnet or wrapper?) fix your issue? I believe it's a regression with the osu! executable which was subsequently fixed/reversed, but that's my guess without access to source nor a working reproduction of the issue.

Also 500th post woo! 🎉

Could you try running a Test Run while recreating the steps that you take, including when the beatmap background shows up as black.

Test Run steps
Step 3: Generating a Test Run through Wineskin

Hi, I downloaded osu for Catalina along with osu!macOS Agent. Using the troubleshoot, scan, and repair. It worked wonderfully the first time I launched it, updating itself then jumping into osu!. But when I came back to it later in the day, I can't get it to open via the app icon, or the osu!macOS Agent route. I had to delete osu!, redownload, and go through the troubleshooting steps. Then it launched normally once again, updating itself aswell. Is it normal for this issue to happen or not and how do I fix this? As that I'm worried it might happen again and I have to go through the steps every time to play.

I'm using Catalina 10.15.7, Macbook air 2017

Thank you

Firstly, I think you should try out the Rosetta Wineskin since it's much newer. Secondly, could you try updating through osu!macOS Agent (Other > Update). If that fails, could you make a Test Run for when the application doesn't open, and link the contents here (you can use a pastebin like paste.gg)

Thank you for making this. I have been enjoying myself so far. However, is there a way to fix the constant freezing(it's gotten worse over time)? While playing beatmaps, the red bar at the bottom right of the screen frequently spikes up causing me to freeze up, lag, and miss the circles.

Are there any things I can do to stop this? I've tried messing with the settings but to no avail.

I currently play on macOS BigSur.

Here's the output when troubleshooting

Popups might take a small while after osu! seems to have closed. If they don't appear, kill the osu!, wine-preloader and wineserver processes via Activity Monitor or Force Quit. Don't kill the Wineskin process however.

There's more performance overhead when playing on Mac due to WINE. Assuming that you have reasonable system specs / reasonable amount of HDD space left (for swap), etc. you should try tuning osu! within the in-game performance settings. Performance seems to vary considerably between users so it's hard to narrow it down without knowing your system.

If you believe performance is an issue with the wrapper, could you try downloading a clean wrapper and seeing whether low performance occurs as well on the clean wrapper? If so, then we might need to do more investigation.

You also made a post 4 months ago with a similar issue - community/forums/posts/8169091 - did you change anything between then and now which would have fixed it?

Thanks.

Could you try the following steps:

- while running osu!, close all other applications (including Discord)
- run osu! through cmd (follow the steps under Running through Command Prompt - https://osu-mac.readthedocs.io/en/latest/issues/dotnet.html#running-through-command-prompt) and log the output (if any) in a pastebin
- while osu! is running, change affinity to NOT use core #0 (see steps below) (community/forums/posts/8162613)
- update dotnet (follow the steps under Updating dotnet - https://osu-mac.readthedocs.io/en/latest/issues/dotnet.html#updating-dotnet

Change affinity
1. Right click osu! > Show Package Contents
2. Click Wineskin > Advanced > Tools > Task Manager (taskmgr)
3. Find osu!.exe in the list that appears, then set priority and affinity as desired - see https://superuser.com/a/181947 for info on what this actually means

The instructions should be quite straightforward :D You can repair through osu!macOS Agent (Troubleshoot > Scan > Repair) or through the following command:

sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine "~/path/to/my/osu\!.app"

where ~/path/to/my/osu\!.app is the local filepath to your osu! installation (keep the quotes in the command).

Huge thanks to aidswidjaja for reaching out to them on Twitter. For those wondering, the reason it was taken down is because the latest Intel Wineskin was incorrectly detected as a virus (it does not contain viruses). Hopefully we won't have any more issues in the future. :)

If you think it's an osu! version update, could you try:

steps
  1. Making a duplicate of your osu wrapper (backups are important since the version you're about to test out doesn't support score submission)
  2. Downloading b20210520.2 from https://osekai.net/snapshots/?version=80
  3. On your duplicated copy, right click > Show Package Contents > drive_c > osu!
  4. Replace osu!.exe with the new version from osekai
  5. Close Finder, then start the wrapper
  6. When the update dialog appears, quickly close it to prevent it from updating (or if you're slow, disable your internet connection)
  7. See whether osu! runs better or not, and run a Test Run

Usually I'm sorta sceptical whenever an issue is attributed to any form of update (OS, executable, etc.), since those regressions are usually quite rare, and usually we would know about any breaking changes (especially OS level ones). But I don't think you're the first user to report an issue with osu! bludging recently on updates, and I haven't had anyone to check whether the issue is in fact isolated to the osu! executable.

In any case, the onus is on us to ensure that our wrapper works with executables, even if they introduce breaking changes, but first I'd like to see if this is in fact caused by a recent osu! update. I doubt it is though.

The Test Run on both your standard install and the older install will also be very useful :)

Hey! I was not able to test run the old Osu! version because I already updated mine to Halloween, but I was able to get the logs on the test run for the newest Osu! version, here is the link: https://pastebin.com/emYSH6Ka. I'm not gonna lie and say I understand the strings in the log file but everything is there.

edit: I know I can reinstall Osu! again and get the older version but I find it quite troublesome and kind of a hassle, if I get more time this week I'll definitely try to reinstall Osu!

Could you try running a Test Run while recreating the steps that you take, including when the beatmap background shows up as black.

Test Run steps
Step 3: Generating a Test Run through Wineskin
More info: https://osu-mac.readthedocs.io/en/latest/issues/troubleshooting.html#generating-logs-for-wineskin

What are your computer specs as well?
Well my pc is a potato but I can run Osu! on 300+ stable, my Processor is 3.1 GHz Intel Core i5, I have 4 GB of RAM (I want to add more RAM but I don't have time because of classes and I don't know how to do it.), my GPU is AMD Radeon HD 6970M 1024 MB, and I run macOS High Sierra. I'll try running the Test Run and I hope it gets fixed.

P.S. I don't have any problems running Osu! before the update, after the update it's just plain laggy and sometimes freezes I swear it's not because of my potato PC.

I only suggested running the older version since I wanted to isolate it to whether it was actually an osu! update that caused it, or if it were something else.

The logging in your Test Run is a lot more than I'd expect from a working install. Specifically, that RtlEncryptMemory/RtlDecryptMemory loop that seems to be plaguing all these performance issues, which I've definitely seen around before. (unrelated). Which wrapper are you using again?

Does osu! still show immense lag on the Halloween update?

Your test run doesn't give me any obvious graphics issues or any runaway processes that would be overloading your computer. If there's an executable-related issue, try changing your osu! version to the last known working version. If you can replicate the same wrapper working with one osu! version, then breaking on another, then we can follow up about that.

If it's not an executable-related issue, then likely there's a misconfiguration with the Wineskin wrapper or your computer. Try adjusting CPU affinity/priority within Wine's task manager.

Change priority/affinity
While osu! is running
1. Right click osu! > Show Package Contents
2. Click Wineskin > Advanced > Tools > Task Manager (taskmgr)
3. Find osu!.exe in the list that appears, then set priority and affinity as desired - see https://superuser.com/a/181947 for info on what this actually means

You can experiment with single-core and multi-core. I've been unable to reproduce your issue, so it's good if you try on your system.

If there was anything you changed/re-installed (both in terms of hardware and software) on your Mac which may correlate with osu! not working, then you should let us know as well.

Firstly, unless the Rosetta version doesn't work, I'd recommend running that version, as you are currently running the slightly-older Intel version. It works for all macOS versions and on both Intel and Apple Silicon based computers.

To fix the error you encountered:

1. Open osu!macOS Agent
2. Click the Troubleshoot tab
3. Click Scan
4. Once the scan is complete, click Repair

If that fails, run the following Terminal command

sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine "~/path/to/my/osu\!.app"

where ~/path/to/my/osu\!.app is the filepath to your osu! install.

You shouldn't be moving anything to the trash. Please follow the instructions I provided above with the unzipped file on your Desktop. I also don't think there is any Gatekeeping unlock needed (as you said)

Hey! If you're asking for the Wineskin Version, it's 'Wineskin 2.9.0.7-rc4'. If that's now what you're looking for, just tell me! :)

Now, regarding the update after the Halloween update, it doesn't seem that laggy anymore. I mean it still lags but not as much as before. It still lags when I open a beatmap (although I think it's natural).

Does osu! still show immense lag on the Halloween update?

MacOS Version : Big Sur

Firstly, unless the Rosetta version doesn't work, I'd recommend running that version, as you are currently running the slightly-older Intel version. It works for all macOS versions and on both Intel and Apple Silicon based computers.

To fix the error you encountered:

1. Open osu!macOS Agent
2. Click the Troubleshoot tab
3. Click Scan
4. Once the scan is complete, click Repair

If that fails, run the following Terminal command

sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine "~/path/to/my/osu\!.app"

where ~/path/to/my/osu\!.app is the filepath to your osu! install.

More info: https://osu-mac.readthedocs.io/en/latest/install/silicon.html#step-2-repair-the-wineskin
Hey! It doesn't seem to lag that often anymore! It still lags every now and then but it doesn't last for 10 seconds!

Now to move on to the whole priority/affinity thing. I set the Priority to Realtime, and I selected all CPU cores (CPU 0-3). https://imgur.com/a/nSVx7Fh

Did the game stop lagging after the Halloween update, or after you changed your priority/affinity?

Hey! I figured out how to install Osu!, now my only problem is: When I update Osu!, it frequently hangs and sometimes the beatmap's background is entirely black [https://imgur.com/OFnU37X] Any Idea why this is happening?

I only suggested running the older version since I wanted to isolate it to whether it was actually an osu! update that caused it, or if it were something else.

The logging in your Test Run is a lot more than I'd expect from a working install. Specifically, that RtlEncryptMemory/RtlDecryptMemory loop that seems to be plaguing all these performance issues, which I've definitely seen around before. (unrelated). Which wrapper are you using again?

I'll try and take a closer look at the logs either tonight or tomorrow (by editing this post), your patience is very much appreciated :)

Yep, follow the standard install instructions linked in the top post.

What are your system specifications?

Could you also make sure you have downloaded the latest version of osu!macOS Agent, and repair your Wineskin again?

Report and repair with osu!macOS Agent
If you need any help with any of the steps outlined here, check out https://osu-mac.readthedocs.io/en/latest/issues/troubleshooting.html or feel free to make a reply back here on the forums. Thanks!

I've also pushed a major update to osu!mac - the unofficial osu! Wineskin documentation project.

Changelog
- New Common Issues articles
- Single monolithic installation guide
- Added new Performance Troubleshooting section
- Updated BBcode templates
- Updated homepage for clarity
- Transitioning from paste.ubuntu.com to paste.gg
- Transitioning to a clear and concise language that makes it easier for non-native English speakers to follow along

If you're not sure where to start or you're experiencing issues for the first time, osu!mac might already have the answer.

have an issue wih osu Intel now, game runs fine and has 3-6 ms average as well as 140-300 fps, however ive noticed times while the game is open wether it is in the main menu, map menu or while playing the screen freezes for about 4-5 seconds before coming back to usual performance, it dosent make the game unplayable but it does bother when you are looking to play the whole map, and even if it finishes and the screen freezes in any part of the map during a break, the mouse tends to hover in one direction in the replay wich looks pretty shady

Also ive comfirmed that yes, Factory restarting the Mac to a previous version that isnt 10.14.6 seems to fix the horrible performance, currently playing on High Sierra 10.13.6

I'll ask and see if there are any known issues with 10.14.6 with upstream maintainers. I'm not quite sure why 10.14.6 is such an issue.

Can you try doing a Test Run, but instead of quitting immediately, scroll through the main menu or potentially play a short beatmap, such that you get the freezes logged in the Test Run??

Edit: I've talked with the upstream maintainers including Gcenx who maintains the Wineskin project. There are no known performance issues on 10.14.6 particularly. Considering that you're also experiencing performance issues with both Wineskins, even on 10.13.6, then I suppose that the factory reset has freed up more system resources and allowed the game to run better. Especially as I found the 3ms 140fps number quite surprising as I get considerably lower that on a newer, higher-spec MBP.

As mentioned before, you should perform a Test Run, capturing the main menu and potentially beatmap playing, so that we can analyse the issue from there.

While looking into SPM37's issue, I realised that I had made a pretty major error on osu!mac, and incorrectly stated that osu! was DirectX-based. This has now been fixed: see https://github.com/aidswidjaja/osu-mac/issues/8

Hi ive made the test run, https://www.mediafire.com/file/2dhwt1hl5g7llmm/Test_Run_2nd_attempt_%2528copied%2529_.txt/file

i apologize for using a site full of ads and viruses lol but idk how else to upload files, anyways i came across some slight stutters/lag spikes trought the session, mainly during the last map as the first map (4Mins) only had like 1 at the end everything else went smoothly, after that i played another map around (3-4-5 mins), i managed to come across said freeze wich completely freezed the screen and when the game came back my hp bar just drained completely, there were times before this test run where whenever the game came back to life after the freeze, the notes would be completely invisible and you could only see the MISS or the Xs, after that part of the chart was done the notes come back

Also my problem with mac os Mojave 10.14.6 idk if i remember well but it was related to the security update labeled (Security update 2020-005) i remembered vaguely so im not sure wether itas 2020-005 or 2021-005 but thats the update that fucked up the games perfomance significantly, have to note that i used a non official download site to download mojave 10.14.1 as i had this problem before and wanted to make sure i was in the right version (by wich i mean not installing 10.14.6 for fear of ruining the game again), after that the updates from the update section of the system preferences were completely normal up until that security update

In the future, you can use a pastebin such as https://paste.gg. There is nothing that I can see that would indicate any obvious errors or issues. If the problem is related to the macOS Mojave Security Update, then I feel like there could be some other process on your system that could be causing significant issues. I would probably use Activity Monitor to check your system resource usage and see if any program in particular is worsening performance. I would also not download OS updates unofficially (and instead clean re-install).

What are your system specifications?

As previously mentioned, I checked with the Gcenx, the upstream maintainer of Wineskin, and was told there are no known issues affecting that particular macOS version.

I would now try Technocoder's updated Wineskin with the CX21 engine, and monitor for performance issues using the Activity Monitor. Feel free to reply back here though if you're stuck or discover something new :)

Yes it is possible and the steps are the same as Intel (except you may be prompted to install Rosettta if you haven't already).

Please make sure you have the latest version of osu!macOS Agent downloaded. If that fails, try the following:

Please move osu!macOS Agent to the Desktop. Then open Terminal and type this command and press enter:

~/Desktop/osu\!macOS\ Agent.app/Contents/MacOS/osu\!macOS\ Agent
and then paste the command output here (in a spoiler box please).

osu! works on all versions of macOS including Catalina and Monterey. If you are using macOS Catalina 10.15.0 to 10.15.4, you will either need to update to a newer version of macOS (recommended), or disable System Integrity Protection. Instructions on disabling SIP are available here: https://osu-mac.readthedocs.io/en/latest/install/install.html

i fixed the issue for a while by reducing the amount of ram opera GX was consuming, osu runs fine with 5-3ms with 300+ fps for the whole time with opera gx open even with 2 youtube tabs open, altoguh it fixed the issue for a while it seemed to come back to the same freeze issue the next day, ive tried alt tabing from the game as it freezes but it only gets out of the app once the freeze stops otherwise it softlocks me in osu until the freeze stops, however ive noticed that whenever i manage to get out (immidiately after the screen comes back to life) the games CPU ussage (winepreloader) is at 76% and then some seconds later goes back to 40% im not sure if thats how much its supposed to be consuming or if it goes down to 40 because is on the background, but ive checked all of the other programs running and none seeme to be causing an issue or consuming any amount of significant RAM or CPU for osu to freeze momentarly, like i said the game runs with no problems whatsoever is just this freezing, the games music and map keeps playing in the background while this freeze happens, and for a second as the screen comes back to life you can see that the MS go all the way over from 300 to 500 only for it to go down to normal with no problems whatsoever.... (except more freezes during gameplay) i quite confused since it dosent seem to be a direct perfomance issue form either the game (graphically) or my computer, the only program that generates actual spikes that i personally have seen is Discord however the spikes dont go as far as to completely freeze the screen and usually is just because discord is consuming a lot of ram and CPU, have to note that i never have discord open whenever im playing osu.
i once fixed this ina previous install of osu i copied for troubleshooting porpouses but i dont quite remember how, i did install Dotnet 4.8 if im not wrong because i was using a program to download map packs wich required dotnet 4.7 or greater, i also put the version of windows in winecfg to 10 or 7 or XP im not quite sure, after that the game ran with no freezes, altough it seemed to struggle a little perfomance wise (this was with the previous engine prior to the updated one) ive also tried different skins and see if thats the problem but dosent seem like it, all of the skins in my folder seem to affect nothing either

I suspect that it relates to your hardware specifications, especially given that you only have 4 GB of RAM and the fact that reducing Opera GX's RAM improved your performance. CPU usage generally decreases when it goes into background so that's expected behaviour. Generally speaking, for other non-performance related issues we suggest installing dotnet45 through Winetricks, but I don't think installing dotnet48 or 47 will impact the Wineskins negatively. Overall, you could consider installing more RAM into your computer depending what model Mac you have (if it has 4GB then it's probably one of the older models which have RAM expansion).

Keep in mind that on a newer base model MacBook Pro (2016) with 8GB RAM, 1.5GB Iris Graphics and a 6th gen mobile i5, I would not be able to get anywhere close to 300fps with 3-5ms on my system (albeit I have many background processes running and limited hard drive space which means less swap space available). Although it seems like that a momentary fix like updating, closing apps or changing configuration options might initially fix the problem, the fact that they're coming back probably indicates it's a case of the system not being able to keep up, and I'm also mindful that confirmation bias may be at play here too.

Overall, I would probably see if you can turn osu!'s performance down to the absolute minimum, and read through this thread community/forums/topics/774159?n=2 to see if anything can help. If you have access to it, you could even try installing more RAM onto your system.

One more thing I want to ask.
In the last two test run you provided, do you remember how many times exactly the game froze? Because looking through both your test runs once again, I found this:

0070:fixme:wincodecs:jpeg_decoder_get_metadata_blocks stub

filling up the logs, which repeat in a pattern characteristic of your lag freezes. I also don't have these on any of the reference logs here: https://github.com/aidswidjaja/osu-mac/tree/main/logs.

Many thanks for your patience with this issue!

Thanks for the response i apreaciate it a lot,

First off just to make things clear i dont believe it has to do with my hardware because ive tested the games perfomance in the past and during that time i never had anny issues, i always had opera gx open in the background for multiplayer downloads sometimes even a bunch of youtube tabs, but then again i could be wrong and my computer might just be getting old but idk about that.

Edit: not to mention the games perfomance is still well normal even with discord on but whenever there is a demanding task consuming ram or cpu it has lag spikes instead, not freezes.

Edit2: yes it freezes without opera or discord open (and i mean fully off not just the window)

second: i believe it freezed around 2-4 or 2-5 times during the testrun, usually after a freeze there was a chance that a follow up freeze would happen right as the other freeze finished, however if i remember correctly this scenario only took place once during the test run

third: ive managed to temporarly fix the issue by turning on the "reduce frame drops" option in the menu however theres times where the game runs fine for like 1 hour and theres times where it straight up crashes during the playtrough after the freeze happens, (freezes do still happen but at a slower pace btw) the max ive gotten the game with no freezes or crashes is between 1:30 to 2 hours "multi and singleplayer included" but to sum it up it freezes slower but there is a chance that the freeze will cause the game to crash

Ok, I'll try looking into your issue a bit more, but after everything you've indicated (and as stated above), it does appear to be dependent on the performance of your computer, which I note is quite old. But if there's something we can do to improve the general performance of the Wineskin, then we'll try our best to remedy.

just to give an example of how the freezes look here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5LI8LFSRe0 the video is not mine but the freezing is similar to mine except mine is more prolonged and takes more time to manifest

(some added new info in here)
also turning on "reduce fps drops" only increases the lifespan of the game for a bit more, turning this option on will always crash at the 2nd freeze if one happens during the games run time, for example if i were to play and get a freeze with this on, it would freeze and then resume as usual, but at the 2nd freeze that follows the previous one it will always crash no matter what, it dosent crash straight up it only freezes forever and the music keeps going, the game is still runing but the game is stuck in a freezed screen, i can move freely around my pc and even play a a youtube video while the game is freezed in this manner, the only way to get out of it is by forcing the app to quit or sometimes it closes by itself.

without the
"reduce fps drops" option turned on however it just freezes more frecuently but dosent crash
i felt like i had to go more into detail about how this happens since everytime the game freezes i dont notice any abnormalities in my computer as a whole, also seems weird to me that lazer runs just fine in comparison but then again i dont know how accurate it is to compare it to its former version since they are made in a different way + native.

as im writing this im currently stuck in the pause menu completely freezed, i can still hear the background music of my skin but my osu cursor seems to be unresponsive and i can only see my desktop cursor, music has been going on for a while around 1 hour yet for that whole time its been in a freezed state, this also happens with the freeze, the music keeps playing and whenever the freeze stops it resumes to the respective part of the map, by that i mean that it continues the map and skips over the part that the song already passed trough, i believe this is the reason why sometimes the freeze causes the notes to be invisible as it glitches by showing the notes that didnt show up during the freeze all at once in an attempt to keep up with the current part of that song/beatmap,

ive tried a lot of things including the "mypcskucks= 1" as stated some posts above, but that dosent seem to solve the issue in anyway, storyboard, shaders and all of that is disabled, background dim 0%, resolution is 1280x800 with "native resolution option is turned on" i know most of this stuff i have already mentioned before but im trying to make it as detailed as possible in case i missed some tiny detail that was causing this problem, anyways , the wine preloader is currently using 800MB of RAM and 4% of my cpu despite being freezed, ive tride running it on xQuartz, same results, runing it on other windows versions past windows XP makes the game perform badly and even then i remember it still freezes anyways.

i have 3 copies of osu , one is a fresh download another is a fresh download with my files in it, another is one ive been using and modifiyng with windows and stuff and another one wich is the same as the previous one but is the one i use for troubleshooting and the one im currently using to play, they all have the same issue.

Hi, I'm not sure if this is allowed but I have some technical difficulties with osu.
Problem details:
During an update, osu was quitted but wasn't able to open back at all no matter how much times I've tried.

The second photo is what happens when I try to open an osz beatmap file.

I tried to open wineskin itself via its advanced option, didn't work. I tried using MacOS Osu Agent, didn't work either. It was also the most recent version of Osu Agent, since I had to reinstall osu as there were even more problems with a past version.

I think the osu! version might be Stable 20220126? if not then its a more recent update I suppose. I'm really not sure what happened.

I'm on mac which is probably why I have so many issues but any assistance will be appreciated :D

You're using the latest Wineskin right? I don't think XQuartz (X11 driver) has been supported for a while.

As mentioned before, your issues appear to be a performance-related issue from what we can tell. If it isn't performance-related, the error isn't easily reproducible on our end, so we will need to wait and see if other user reports come in. Although the wincodecs stubs are quite unusual, there's not really enough info available for an easy troubleshooting fix. There's not a lot of info we have at the moment, and the wincodecs issue could be a red herring (i.e unrelated).

If you could try reinstalling dotnet winetricks that would be a good place to start. However, we will keep an eye for any information, and if we believe new info is available that may help your issue, you'll be the first to know :) please let us know if you have any new information you think may be useful!

Hi! Please try these steps in the following order:

Troubleshooting
Step 1: Report and repair with osu!macOS Agent
Step 2: Generating a Test Run through Wineskin
  1. Locate your osu! installation.
  2. Right click on it, then select Show Package Contents.
  3. Open Wineskin.
  4. Click Advanced > Test Run.
  5. If osu! starts successfully (even with glitches), you can then close the program down. Once the program has either closed or crashed, a dialog will pop up asking you whether you want to view Test Run Logs. Click Yes.
  6. Copy the results of your Test Run logs to a pastebin such as paste.gg set to never expire. Then attach the link in a reply to this thread, along with the report from osu!macOS Agent in Step 1.
If you need any help with any of the steps outlined here, check out https://osu-mac.readthedocs.io/en/latest/issues/troubleshooting.html or feel free to make a reply back here on the forums. Thanks!

Keep in mind that although in most cases you should be able to open a osz file, this usually requires configuration and is not indicative of problems with the Wineskin. Best of luck!

Hello! I had a test of all of the steps that were shown, but unfortunately I don't think any of them worked.

Have you tried both the Latest Wineskin and the Rosetta Wineskin? Some users find the first works better over the other. It looks like you're using the Rosetta Wineskin.

Please help with this as soon as possible!

Update to this issue: the problem was caused by user data from a previous installation (likely an incompatible skin or configuration). This issue is now resolved.

To help isolate issues faster, please always try troubleshooting with a fresh wrapper, before moving your data over!
