[Taiko] BNG / NAT List

Information

This list provides current BNG and NAT in the gamemode osu!taiko. Promotion log here. Indepth information here.

  1. The Beatmap Nominators (BN) are responsible for disqualifying beatmaps and mediating vetoes from now on, in addition to their task of pushing beatmaps towards the ranked category.
  2. The Nominator Administration Team (NAT) are the moderators of the Beatmap Nominators. They are responsible for BN Applications, creating tests for the applicants and for evaluating the current members. They will still have their moderation privileges although it is not their primary focus.


List of BNs and NAs who are capable of Taiko



  1. NAT: groups/7?mode=taiko
  2. BN: groups/28?mode=taiko
  3. Probational BN: groups/32?mode=taiko
Mentioned groups are able to nominate and disqualify beatmaps.
Probationary Beatmap Nominators cannot disqualify beatmaps, and they also require a full Beatmap Nominator nomination in order qualify a set.

Well, doesn't mean he isn't allowed to bubble / qualify taiko maps. :P
Theoretically, he could disqualify Taiko as well. But well, MMzz and me took the job of the boo-man(or boogyman? lol).

True. Had this concern, too. But I think a bit recognition for people who were a lot active in this game mode isn't bad at all. After all, beside notable people we have nothing else for Taiko guys. And new people should know their predecessor.

They are still BNs.. Alumni only means "retired from staff". BNs are no staff members.

Thanks, had no time in the last week. I've added them when kanpakyin was still a QAT. Also, only retiered staff members should be added, which is the case atm. Added some more!

If certain mappers need revision for the modding, they can ask me for help. We can also go for mentoring. It's not the first time I do so, but I guess first time I annnounce it. lol

But don't forget, I have also much to do in university and as QAT.

Also, you can apply with less if you are really active
I for example had enough activity (Jan 22, Feb 23, Mar 16 as of application) but I only had 159 kudosu then
Looking at mod score I could have gotten it, so #kudosu is not that improtant if you are really active though

Encourage modding by organizing queues that are more focused on a quantitative approach first, and then after a good period of grinding modder score/kd to be added to the BN, spend time enforcing qualitative modding. I think your goal should be to get people onto the BN so that more maps can flow into qualified. Once there are more BNs, they can improve their modding quality through the disqualifications they receive and the advice given to them by their peers. Remember, DQs aren't a bad thing, they can be good learning experiences if applied right.

In essence: encourage modding, give or take excellent quality mods. They can improve much more significantly after becoming a BN.

Although this idea doesn't really take into account the application and judgement process so, that is something we'll have to mull over further.

Recruiting more Taiko BNs is the prerequisite of improving the current situation. Once we have got more members, the workload of individual BN would be lighter and we could handle mod requests in a more efficient way. However, I think that those who want to become a Taiko BN should have at least the necessary modding skills (e.g. to give constructive mods with respect to mappers' intention or style), otherwise they may not bring real benefits to the modding process.
