Osu! does not run in Retina mode. Since you have a 2880x1800 resolution screen, run osu! in 1440x900 windowed borderless for a full screen experience. If you need better performance, toggle on Fullscreen mode but change the resolution to 1440x900. It allows the Nvidia card to kick in.

It is recommended to use the installer (wineskin version, which is provided on first page of this topic) on OS X, using with Vbox is too slow and quite "unplayable".

A day of firsts for me. More to the point Osu! refuses to start on OSx 10.8.4 despite waiting the maximum 5 minutes and beyond for X11 to set up. The most detailed description I can give is that it opens, remains open and then nothing happens. It sits in my application bar without any action, plus right click quitting does nothing.

I recommend against Vbox and something similar like Parallels because it runs Osu! in Retina Mode (hard to get many frames)

That happened with me, and the only fix I found for it was to reinstall osu. By that, I mean downloading it again, dumping it on the desktop and then reinstalling all the songs. It's a bother, but it works.Mankachu wrote:

I've been having issues with keyboard latency for a while now (~200 ms). It's like that even on the built-in laptop keybord. The new wrapper seemed to improve the delay slightly though.
peppy . still want to update but i have the latest version

um so i downloaded it and tried to open it at it says i can't access read only dmg files?
Also it might be worth mentioning that the keyboard delay only occurs when playing a song. There's no delay when typing messages or searching.
I just reset the pram and nothing changed. I did a little more testing with the keyboard delay and I guess I only notice when I'm playing; typing messages has the same delay. The keyboard delay doesn't happen in any other app so I'm assuming it's osu.

Yeah I've recently had some mouse lag but not bad enough to not play. Perhaps you should change the wine engine being used?

The new update you just released has cause me some CRAZY problems. Everytime I go to pick a song it refreshes my song list (Like when you add something) and it gets into this cycle and doesn't stop. Please fix soon Peppy

I need help Osu worked and now when i try to reopen it it says oh no! osu crashed and i retry over and over again and nothing works

Then after you have downloaded the skin, you will need an archiver of some sort. Windows uses winRaR or whatever but for mac I personally use Archive Utility (it's free and works like a charm - should be installed on your mac already)
Then, locate your skin file within your computer using finder or to wherever you saved the download and open it with Archive Utility.
Extract the file to wherever (I usually save it to my desktop for ease of access).
Then find osu in your finder and right click it - then select Show Package Contents
Once inside, you should see 3 folders and a wineskin.app. Click on the osu! folder.
In there, you should see another folder called skins. You want to place your extracted download (zip download was turned into a file saved to your desktop)
into here. E.G End result should look like this

Oh for the lag, try to have minimal programs open and if you need to, in settings in osu type in OpenGL and run osu through that instead of DirectX. Reduce any visual settings you may have put on accidentally.

Check what programs you may have, like I found if you have Razer Synapse then osu! will keep crashing.
I'm not really able to help unless I know the direct source, so my guess is to wait until osu! is updated (next patch) or try and re-download osu! again.

I've tried absolutely everything i could think of in order to get smooth gameplay. All we can do is hope the new update will be good, otherwise i'm gonna look at a larger hard-drive and use bootcamp, although i really don't want to dedicate half my drive just for a game.i tried re-installing osu. but it doesn't even open Q_Q

Since yesterday mouse acceleration mac was active on osu suddenly . In anyother app or somewhere acceleration ins inactive. Does anyone have any idea to solve this problem?

I don't think cutting edge was meant for Mac lol.
Your best bet is to probably re-install if you haven't already Lagel. Just copy over your songs folder (and any other ones you want to keep) and you should be good.
