After months of not finding time to fix the remaining problems with the OS X build of osu!, I have decided to make it public in its current state. You may have issues importing songs, but this can usually be fixed by mashing escape or alt-f4.
Please note this is a test release (beta if you like) and there are known bugs. That said, feel free to share your experiences in this thread and try and help each other out until the bugs are ironed out .
http://m1.ppy.sh/osu!.20141010.dmg
http://m2.ppy.sh/osu!.20141010.dmg
Compatible with OS X 10.6~10.9.x
Things to know:Adding Beatmaps:
- The first time you run osu!, it may take up to 5 minutes to start. This is due to X11 (the graphical subsystem) rebuilding a font cache.
- This build will always start the updater when you run it. It will update to newer releases and therefore when the remaining issues are fixed you will automatically receive the fixes.
- Importing songs may get stuck. If this happens, try alt-f4 or esc mashing, or quit osu! and run it again.
- To see the osu! folder, right-click on osu!.app and choose "Show Package Contents" then navigate to Contents/Resources/winePrefix/drive_c/osu/
- Apparently you can load new songs by dragging the .osz file to the osu! icon.
Open the package:
Navigate to the songs folder:
Drag your osz files inside:
Run osu! and goto song selection (or hit F5 if you are already there).
Note that you can make a shortcut to the songs folder on your desktop by dragging the folder while holding command and option. This should make it easier to load new maps for now!
Maybe it's just my laptop being underpowered but it doesn't seem to launch on Sierra. I'm using 1.9.14 and it's working just fine (Mid-2012 MacBook Pro)Agrrox wrote:
VSNRAIN's wrapper with engine: wine-staging-x32-2.0-rc1

.
My personal experience with 1.9.X engines is that they are unstable and osu is constantly crashing while scrolling songs in song select screen.
Engines 1.9.16 and higher were not even able to launch osu for some reason.
I gave 2.0 staging engine a try and it works just fine.
Please share your results. You can copy your osu data from old osu wrapper to this new after first launch. if you don't know how, you can use guide on my profile.
link is not wroking anymore can someone make a new upload? thanksAgrrox wrote:
osu! Stable (Latest) wine staging 1.9.14
- cjk installed = osu supporting Japanese, Chinese and Korean fonts
- working winetricks (installed: msxml 3.0, dotnet40, cjk)
- installed staging libraries into framework folder so staging should actually work
Download ~409mb
Gave this a shot. Really nice except for the random hanging (i have to force quit when this happens) when rapidly changing songs in song select. Still great. Almost no lag at 120 fpsAgrrox wrote:

Aww thats sad to hear, both about your account and the UIDD thingyAgrrox wrote:
I decided to delete all wrappers that i have created.
Reason:
operating system uses UUID to identify system (universally unique identifier) Which means that when more people uses same osu wrapper that has same UUID it can trigger anti cheating detection.
I recently got an email that states "We have noticed cheating / foul-play / abnormal activity on your account." which result my account being rollbacked 4 months back in time...
There is no need to risk mine or another people's account.
Sorry for this :/
Just wait for native osu!
Can you please tell me how to solve this? I seem to have the same problem.sakurako3925 wrote:
So I tried playing osu! on where I was playing it originally, it said: "Another user is currently using this application. They must exit the application before you can use it.
Then when I went to my other account in my computer, it said: ERROR! cannot write into Infoplist, there are permission problems or you are on a read only volume. This cannot run from within a read-only dmg file.
And this keeps going on a loop! ;~; How can I fix this? (And I did reinstall it. It's still the same.)
Edit: Figured it out. Nevermind.

Also on 10.13 and can confirm osu will not open.numbermaniac wrote:
After updating to 10.13, the stable fallback and stable (alpha) versions of osu! aren't opening anymore. Nothing happens when I try to open either of them. Strange, since it was working on 10.12 - what changed?
Thanks! it worked!!FR_NextFire wrote:
