I've deleted those files but Osu! still refuses to launch aside from the updater.Agrrox wrote:

The problem for me is that it didn't even work with maverickTechnoBuffalos wrote:
I feel like OSU! mac doesn't support Yosemite yet. It just sits in my dock and doesn't do anything. This is the updated version also.
Edit: I just read supported versions; Mavericks is the latest supported version.
I haven't been able to achieve any noticeable difference, positive nor negative, from messing around with those settings. I even tried reverting back to Stable.Agrrox wrote:

IMHO osu runs better with DirectX than OpenGL when you have powerful rig.
Yeah I use a 300 FPS Custom limiter.Agrrox wrote:
Both osu! and OSX are not optimized for OpenGL. Osx graphics frameworks are just obsolete.
Are you using unlimited fps cap? Try to set higher custom fps limiter in osu user config file.
I'm happy that i get around 120 fps max on my old crappy macbook![]()
. The fps drops are very noticable when there is something else animated/rendered in the background.
Nope, still haven't got it to work yet. I just copy and paste out to read what is said or read chat logs (i have those saved).Agrrox wrote:
I think it has to be installed inside the wineskin wrapper. I dont know how to do it.chems wrote:
Sorry if this is question already asked, I am running Mavericks and Osu will not show Asian unicode. This terrible for me because I chat with the nice fellas in #japanese. It shows as boxes. Asian unicode is installed on my computer.
But maybe this will work:
1. rightclick osu!.app and click "show package contents"
2. run wineskin.app
3. go to "Advanced" and enter this code into "Custom commands:"export LC_MESSAGES=ja_JP.UTF-8

I think wineskin osu port is already working decent.

Both are for directly running on Mac. They are the same file.Mastivious wrote:

http://m1.ppy.sh/osu!.20141010.dmg < Virutalbox
and
http://m2.ppy.sh/osu!.20141010.dmg < Wineskin
Is this correct?
My friend said she couldn't open the second one, that's probably why.
This is nonsense. I get ~250fps at 2880x1800 fullscreen on a first-generation Retina Macbook Pro 15" in Parallels.Novixion wrote:

The exact same thing happens to me. It's irritatingDangerousGame wrote:
A day of firsts for me. More to the point Osu! refuses to start on OSx 10.8.4 despite waiting the maximum 5 minutes and beyond for X11 to set up. That happened with me, and the only fix I found for it was to reinstall osu. By that, I mean downloading it again, dumping it on the desktop and then reinstalling all the songs. It's a bother, but it works.Mankachu wrote:

Judging by the screenshots posted by peppy, the OSX build runs via wine (or an OSX derivative of it), especially because of the wine and winePrefix folders.Wassaaaa wrote:

Just redownload the Osu! .dmg and copy to applications folder, make sure delete the osu! on Applications folder before copy again your new osu.dmg. or if you still have a problem, just download wine for os x (http://www.davidbaumgold.com/tutorials/wine-mac/) and download osu! for windows and install with wine, (osu! running on wineskin ( try to explore the package Osu!, there is windows files,. and drive_c).DragoorReaper wrote:

This Build comes with its own version of it, fully configured and ready for osu.
The strategy to get osu running on linux is basically the same: install wine, and then run Windows osu with it.
The difference between the OSX build and the windows build might be some changes in the osu!.exe that make it more cross-platform compatible and the configuration for the packaged wine version. When the OSX version is "done" (i.e. works very well and has no blatant bugs), maybe peppy will setup a similar thing for linux based systems (very big maybe)
