Just look into skin.ini and find
HitCirclePrefix: default
HitCircleOverlap: 3
ScorePrefix: score
ScoreOverlap: 2

And edit "HitCircleOverlap"

First download this open the app and you will be see interface of app like this

next click"choose bg" and choose the background you want

now click "replace all"

and wait the app doing his job until done. ;)

Is there an easy way to make images transparent? I can Dl Paint.net and GIMP always freezes when starting.
Atm I use paint to make images, and then an online transparent maker, but this takes mich time >.<
Is there a faster way to do this?

For pause-overlay.png, I'm using a 1920x1080 image, (osu! res and native res) but for some reason, it's zooming in and cropping out parts of the image. Anyone have any ideas?
(I play in a borderless window but switching to fullscreen mode didn't fix it)
(if it matters, I'm editing the image manually)

It sort of worked, now it's zoomed out and only takes up about 1/2 the screen.
When I made my fail-background.png it worked fine at 1920x1080. >.>

Because Fail bg have a little slightly different resizing. Why? Dunno.

Just make both as 2732x1536px and add @2x.png to them.

So I don't know where to explain what i want so i decided to go here. (because of skinning support maybe).

I was using the skin from thelewa since a long time but i decided to change. I find the luminance skin that is perfect but it's totally brown ...

So i search a skin very minimalistic without 300 or others trigger like comboburst. I want to train myself and i realised that i cant play with too much details on the screen.
I searched a long time throught completed skin and the skin forum but no skin correspond to what i expect.
I want to know guys if one of you can propose some skin that are very clean.
I will thanks you so much.

If i go here that means that i dont have any time to create my own skin. :|

replace the default-(number).png with the dotted one and change the HitCircleOverlap : (numbers) line in your skin.ini with a correct value (try using the width of the dot I guess)

open skin.ini in your folder skin and open with notepad, find "HitCircleOverlap" on skin.ini and change the value

Ignore beatmap skins is ticked. Tried enabling, and disabling again nothing happened.

I think It's intended... You can try deleting the pauseoverlay.png inside that song though (and ofc, It will make Peppy Angry XD)

I had a skin I built using pieces of others' skins but recently lost all the date on my HDD and can't find where I got the piece of the skin from when rebuilding mine (I really liked it) and I am not skilled enough in any image editing program to create it myself.

The piece was the menu-button-background in this image.

I really like the neon-ish hollow pieces so I'd appreciate if someone could help me out :D

The recent update changed or rather fixed two aspects listed here and one has a larger impact.

With the new update the scorebar-marker is now skinnable and forces a different anchorpoint on the scorebar-colour than the scorebar-ki elements.

The new anchorppoint is 12,12 when using the marker and breaks all skins which currently have it.
Also it prioritizes the marker before the ki.

The smaller fix is for new-styled spinners which showed the spinner-approachcircle.

Edit: because false anchorpoint.

My mistake :(

I used the default scorebar-bg and colour. Quite hard to catch it with that since the start is round. Normally I should have used a simple squareish design but wanted to make it fast.

It's 11,12 btw. (closest value I got) using w,h (width, height)

But the actual is 12,12 to avoid further confusions.
Also, even if you reduced the image's width or the shape itself without changing the image dimensions, the anchor will stay the same.

Does anyone have tips on how to center spinners? When I test my spinner it always ends up misaligned. I already made sure that the spinner was actually a circle and not an oval. The center align of the move tool doesn't do anything either

1. Use the shape tool with same size (e.g. 666x666)
2. Rasterize Layer
3. Zoom to "fit all"
4. Select all
5. Cut
6. Paste

Well this is my way.

I just noticed that even the default spinner-top.png isn't spinning correctly.
I tried placing a circle aligned to the center of the canvas on top of the default spinner-top and it seems that the pivot isn't aligned properly.


It looked aligned at first but started going off-center while the spinner zoomed in (new skin behavior)
I don't know if this is intentional
Any help is appreciated

I see this often with spinners on a size of like 667x667, 389x389 or other sizes that end on a odd number, when halving their size.


To the scorebar anchor, this simple design should make clear it's 12,12.

I believe not, I've never tried. But you could change the color of the image itself and it would affect what color it flashes

The individual hitcircles have a transparent middle (I know how to do this). But the sliders themselves have a solid hitcircle. How to I make it so my sliders are solid? It would help me a ton to be able to do this.

The Hitsounds are the same, but the skin isn't

Yep i inserted those files and now i dont have my lighting for my beats. I checked every skin i have which is about 9 of them and all of them suddenly dont have their lightings. How to fix?

For the missing lightings, make sure you have this ticked.


If you accidentally replaced the hitlighting of the skin you use with the blank 1x1 png, download the skin again and check if the hitlighting is there.

Yes, you can. Add "masking-border.png" to your skin with picture of 768px height. Width is resolution dependant (wider resolution, wider blackbars), so you need to fit it yourself.

Example on resolution 1280x800 and with picture 193x768px :

I did exactly what it says here https://osu.ppy.sh/wiki/Skin.ini but still not getting those colors, I get the default ones.

Hello everyone, quick question :

I just changed skin, and I can't seem to make the spinner's animations work properly for some reason.

I tried :

- modifying the skin.ini version to 2, didn't change anything
- renaming the file to "User" as suggested by Peppy after the recent patch, didn't change anything either
- renaming the skin to "User", still null

Kinda out of ideas now..

edit : what's worrisome is that it's not even the default spinner, but this one
