Definitely would be the best spot for this. Support for sure. As long as I can still change it in game after it loads.

Yeah this would be great, but as well as just being able to save a global setting. I don't dim backgrounds entirely, usually the whatever percentage that's available without having played the map works for me, but it gets insanely annoying to do it on every single map.
+support. i hate it when the visual tab opens just before the 1st note appears.

I guess this feature would resolve this bug: t/129641
I find this being the only way for visual settings to work properly, the only visual setting you can change right now is the dim. Hopefully this is the way to go about solving all current problems with the visual settings in multiplayer.
I hope there will be room for it though, with the fix for this graphical issue there won't be room for the dim bar as shown in the example screenshot.

Since dim usually works perfectly fine, only the boxes you have to tick that require a restart are really needed in the main mp menu, in my opinion.

I would still love this, something that DOES happen is that the visual setting tab gets closed by some accidental cursor movement you do and you are not able to set your stuff. Being able to properly set this before loading the map would be nice.

sometimes when playing in mp random skins and hit sounds start to show up and i don't have time to react..
this is very nice for ppl that are used to their own skin or just to want to keep the interface clean. +starrrrrs

and some maps starts so fast that i don't have time to change them in time.

This is how it should be, also I would like to see hide score list as a toggle too in MP, because having to press that button every time in a serious match is beyond tedious, and some maps start instantly so when you hide your score list it will give a miss which was pretty annoying in 'official' matches.

Alternative suggestion: Universal settings for the visual settings that can be pulled up with a hotkey. These settings would apply to every beatmap automatically. I play 80% dim on most all maps with the skins disabled (even if to remove just the color) and I have to hit these settings every time. During multiplayer I will fumble or get distracted sometimes and then end up having to play it 2009 style.

Support, it would be more convenient to be able to apply it to every map by default instead of having to change these settings 1 by 1. For the 2nd suggestion, maybe it would be good to have another option - "Always apply visual settings" so that you wouldn't have to press the shortcut everytime

This is a great idea because sometimes when the game starts, the visual settings menu won't even come up. It just stays down and then the song starts.
Definitely promoting this. Can't count the amount of times I've had to switch up brightness due to a song's darkness and/OR brightness in multi.

I like this idea - I always dim the background, so a "make default background" setting would be nice.
However, the spoiler should still come up before the song loads, just in case I want to enable background for a certain song.
