I don't think there any point in nominating Blanket Combos since there really isn't any reason for anyone not to like them. Basically it'll be a bunch of 4's and 5's and comments on how professional and nice looking it is.
Also, another nomination
Flower Combo
Basically a combo shaped like this
_1_2
6_7_3
_5_4
or something similar (will get screenshot and example later today)

I'd like to nominate Rainbow Sliders.
This is the name I give to the large, arc-shaped sliders which generally take up one half of the screen. Best used in places with long, climactic, held notes, sort of like spinners.
These are seen in 3oh!3 - Starstrukk and Dialga Palkia Battle, among other places. Very popular in EBA.

I thought the above is a common sight in the original games?
Ouendan1's variations tend to be more boomerang-shaped, whereas Ouendan2 likes to use closer to complete circles.MetalMario201 wrote:

Me too, I've started trying to make cool stuff out of long sliders in my maps lately and so I can totally appreciate the time and effort that went into making that shooting star look so great, even if it might be kind of hard to follow :<Derekku Chan wrote:
Yeah, that's an awesome one.
@Shooting Star: I love that slider. I'm a big fan of overlapping/(currently) unrankable sliders, so <3

Eh, I really don't know if stacks would count as a "technique". They've been around since O1 and are used by almost everyone...VanMoNky wrote:
There's no technique about stacking notes which occur at the very same location?
Yet only a handful can use them efficiently without making their maps look like a clusterfuck. It's still a technique.Derekku Chan wrote:

The point is, there are many 1/4 triplets in succession forming some sort of pattern.supergarlic wrote:
isn't that basically constant spacing
Yeah that's probably better.Derekku Chan wrote:
I would call those "triplet streams".
Set stack leniency in song setup to never stack.VanMoNky wrote:

did you mean "rarely stack"?JarJarJacob wrote:

Don't care whether it's rankable or notm980 wrote:
The type of stacks you want to create are unrankable (They weren't unrankable a while back, which would explain any nonstacking in ranked maps.)
No, open the beatmap with notepad and change the stack leniency to 0VanMoNky wrote:

osu! is not an authentic version of Ouendan.FerreTrip wrote:
Would that be its own thing, or would that be unrankable as well, despite it being used in the very games osu! is based off of? If it IS able to be called its own thing, I'd like to nominate it. I sadly have no pictures to display what I mean.
That doesn't answer my question...:|Derekku Chan wrote:

It's rankable, and they appear quite often.FerreTrip wrote:

If notes are obviously unstacked where they should be, it's unrankable.VanMoNky wrote:
Oh.. Alright then..
But may I use the 0.1 stacking instead of zero?![]()
I guess the answer must be NO.
Who said other mappers can't use it, though?Card N'FoRcE wrote:

Weren't Etna sliders basically an awp creation, but now they're common? And even if he wasn't the first, someone was.Card N'FoRcE wrote:

Do you mean Speed Up as in "this entire section has fast sliders and larger spacing" (Example: http://osu.ppy.sh/s/5346) or Speed Up as in "there's one slider here that's really fast, but everything else is normal" (DJPop style. Example: http://osu.ppy.sh/s/5255).fartownik wrote:

I second this. I don't have images at the moment due to being on the laptop, but Imogen Heap - Just for Now uses them, as well, in some respects. I also find myself using this technique when mapping slow songs (IE when I map most things I like).Shinxyn wrote:
"Hold Sliders" (Could use a better name...)
Sliders where the bpm isn't just 0.5x, but 0.25x or 0.125x (with new red timing panels on each side). Usually the mouse doesn't have to be moved, but its confusing sometimes when the maps pace is fast...
Used to match the music though, not the map's pace.
These are Flower Combos of order 4.Beuchi-chan wrote:

A bunch of hitcircles that form a square shape, usually with a short spacing between them.
Maybe we could call them Switchback sliders? I dunnoGladi wrote:
