1: The town's goal is to find the mafia. The mafia's goal is to get any townie lynched. Of course, the mafia also want to avoid detection, but they'll try to find any reason to get another lynched. The town, however, have the motivation of getting the mafia to NK them if they aren't an aux, or avoiding an NK if they are. Also, a true cop going against a contested claim (in a normal mafia game, where roles are revealed), will generally have the town lynch him first, to confirm his telling the truth (if not in LyLo). There is a difference between the roles, and it makes a difference in how others play.strager wrote:
The Town has similar goals.LadySuburu wrote:
Yet the prime motivation for a mafia member, is to get someone other than themselves lynched. That may be so. Realize though I've been on most of the L-2's (even the one against myself) and I don't think there has been an L-1.LadySuburu wrote:
Following along with other's votes, setting a trend to get many people near lynch, and attempting to lynch off someone who can't respond or defend themselves, are all scummy and in my mind mafia tactics.
(Note to self: write a proggie to parse private vote log to look at bandwaggoning.)
I can't really defend myself against your claims, though, as they are pretty convincing. However, I was just tossing in confusion to shake up the game a little so people would slip so we could have something substantial to go on for a lynch (see my last vote).
2: Confusion will hurt the town and benefit the mafia more. Doing things to try and stir up discussion is good, but attempting to confuse the town is not.
3: I'm going to keep my vote on you until either you've convinced me you're not scum, or until someone else does something that places them higher on my list than you. SFG's post hasn't brought her higher than you on my list.
