oh it'd look better if you can add the people who play as Ui, Hinata and Madoka as the singers and the characters on the tags. i find it odd that the characters' names are the singers.

  1. Don't be afraid to use a more complicated timing pattern in an easy. Sometimes just starting on white ticks is harder than it would be to start on red ticks.
  2. 00:00:951 (1) - Finish+Whistle at the start.
  3. For your whistle pattern at the start, you should follow the chimes in the background. :3
  4. 00:03:709 (1) - (nazi) this isn't symmetrical :< Remove whistle at the end please and put one at the start (to follow the chimes).
  5. 00:05:434 (3) - Delete this note, then:
  6. 00:06:123 - Add a note with a whistle.
  7. 00:06:468 (1) - End on the previous red tick to follow chimes and vocals.
  8. 00:07:847 (2) - Start on the previous red tick to match ^ and end at 00:08:192.

aaaaallright I've been modding this behind the scenes for the past couple of weeks or since it was made ._., so I've finally found some free time to give this a proper mod. Since I've been getting harassed by these two guys to finish it ;w;

General
  1. all the diffs are inconsistent with when the map ends, for example:
    1. neko's Easy ends at 3:11
    2. Normal ends at 3:13
    3. inaba's Taiko ends at 3:29
    4. meiikyuu's Hard ends at 3:14
    5. Collab ends at 3:13
    get this straight. I'd like to see some consistency. It seems like the guest diffs are the ones that are not in sync with the ones you made. I bolded inaba's timing because I think it's best to work up to here instead of deleting poor inaba-tan's work. It sounds better ending here too, instead of suddenly and abruptly like with the majority of diffs.
  2. taiko bg? ;w; *stares at inaba* If you want, I can get someone around to making one for you if you wish. inaba is using meiikyuu's background right now, which breaks the fact that all diffs have different bgs.
  3. adjust combo colours? Try to find a better combination of colours? That red... orz.
  4. consistency is key to make this mapset work. I'm hearing mochi's ass slap hitsounds in his part in the collab, and as well in meiikyuu's hard. Discuss?

  2. to start, I'm going to let you know that I'll be nitpicking this diff because easys rely on good symmetry and creativity in order to be fun, while still retaining flow, so bear with me and please don't be offended by this long mod.

note arrangement
  1. 00:02:337 (2) - make this similar to (1), it just looks strange having a straight slider and curved slider.
  2. 00:03:716 (1) - you'll need to increase the size of this shape so the repeat lands on the big white tick, because right now the end doesn't really end on a good sound...hard to follow for beginners.
  3. 00:10:441 (1) - maybe move the spinner back to the previous white tick, and then extend the end to where you have it now.
  4. 00:26:130 (1,2) - add a note in-between, it sounds empty and doesn't flow with the previous section.
  5. 00:34:061 (1,2) - ^ makes it hard to read without one there...
  6. 00:37:165 (1,2,3,4) - you could fix this by removing the repeat and adding two notes on the other side of the slider, and then make the pattern symmetrical? weird breaks in-between should be eliminated as best as possible.
  7. 00:41:992 (5) - stack it under the end of (1), properly.
  8. 00:56:475 (1) - try mapping this out. short burst spinners for easier difficulties (even if this isn't uber short, it's still not really needed) aren't good.
    00:58:889 (1) - starting a note on here after a spinner isn't really good, but this is just a suggestion because the spinner ends quite some time (not directly) after, though I still recommend you fix this.
  9. 00:59:579 (3) - turn this into a slider?

The are other notes-on-nothing like 02:16:732 (4), that are actually difficult to be in streams. Some streams are better as single sliders too as 02:20:611 (7,8,9), as example is better being a single slider starting from (7)

Lovely to see another Canadian!

General:

• According to VNDB and Wikipedia, the source should be Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi. Easy and Hard have a different source.
• There are inconsistent letter boxing, please make sure the letter boxing on each difficulty matches each other. By the way, letter boxing adds a nice effect to this map, so I suggest turning it on.
• Since this visual novel is referred to as Hoshikaka at times, I suggest adding it to the tags.

Easy:

Looks like you have some important inherited sections that are un-snapped:
  • 00:50:613
    01:59:579
If you don't re-snap them properly, the note will sound off with the previous hitsound settings.

• 00:03:714 (1,2) - (2) may be too hard to hit for beginners because the transition from white tick to red tick is rather sudden, move (2) so that it hits on 00:07:163 - instead.
• 00:09:749 (2) - ^ Same here, please move it so that it hits on 00:09:921 -. And all over the map, some the transitions from 1/1 to 1/2 is rough and does not feel like it belongs in an Easy Difficulty. Go through the map and make sure everything runs smoothly.
• 00:26:128 (1) - A clap on this slider's start would work rather well. The note sounds pretty bland without it.
• 00:41:990 (5) - You should really make this note a little more visible, it's a tad hard for an easy difficulty. I suggest rearranging the patten like this.
• 00:57:335 (2,3) - To make this less frustrating to hit, change this to a long slider that reaches from 00:57:335 to 00:58:025.
• 01:13:370 (3) - I would re-shape this slider. First off, it's too much for an Easy difficulty, and also, the start overlaps it's track.
• 02:02:680 (2) - Please make this slider symmetrical on the axis. It really does look awful and stands out if it isn't.
• 02:20:266 (3,4,5,6,1,2) - This one pattern is a real mess, it's very confusing for an Easy difficulty. Please clean it up.
• 02:40:956 (1,2,3,4) - It would be much easier and fitting if you changed the pattern so that it's like this.

This difficulty still needs a lot of work. I only pointed out the really major things that bugged me, if I didn't you'd probably have a huge list on your hands. I don't mean to come off as an ass, I just really want to see this map improve. Also, this seems a lot like a Normal in my opinion.

Normal:

This entire difficulty sounds very bland due to it's lack of claps.

• 00:20:956 (2) - This kick slider will confuse many normal players. They don't expect the last repeat and it comes up pretty fast. Remove the last repeat and fix spacing.
• 00:34:749 (2) - This slider start overlapping it's track is very ugly and should never be done. Re-shape this please.
• 00:36:128 (4) - ^
• 01:16:645 (2) - ^ and all through the map.
• 03:07:680 (5,6) - These two are in a position at is pretty hard to read and looks pretty ugly. I would change it's location like this:
(Re-arrangement needed after this.)

inaba's Taiko:

• Volume should be at 100% throughout the entire map.
• 02:57:421 - Kiai sparks are note allowed in Taiko diffs.
• 03:29:232 (1) - This spinner is way too short and plays awfully. Map through it.

meiikyuu's Hard:

• 00:34:059 (1,2,3) - This is rather confusing and plays pretty badly. Re-arrange this please.
• 00:39:577 - Very unnecessary and inconsistent slow down. Use normal speed please.
• 00:45:094 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - I love the hitsounding here. Just saying >w<
• 01:00:611 (4) - I don't like this kick slider, it really ruins the flow of the game play and it trips many players up. I would change it to something like this.
• 02:20:611 (4) - This slider end is un-snapped.
• 02:22:680 (5) - Stacking on top of a slider works better, so I would stack this note on top of (6)
• 02:58:025 (2) - This slider isn't straight and it looks awful. Please straighten it.

Collab:

AR 9 does not really fit. AR 8 is fast enough.

• 00:02:163 (7) - Add in a new combo to match your combo pattern.
• 00:24:921 (2,3,4) - Avoid doing this please. It comes about being really confusing the first time around.

I guess that's all I can pick out.

  2. There aren't problem I can see anymore there, good work. Plus yeah, Kiddo-kun, using 1/2 in easies in part that it have sense means he's doing a good work.

Having a look at Easy because i got interested in the matter.
You know why Easy "needs work"? Because too much stuff is on the white ticks when it should be on red ticks to be intuitive and flowing, i have some examples:

- neko's Easy:
  • 00:07:163 (2) - no, it just sounds bad, very bad. It's way more intuitive at 00:06:990
    00:09:921 (2) - same as above, more intuitive at 00:09:749
    00:40:266 (1) - extending this up to 00:40:783 and replacing the clap with a finish at the end of the slider would flow nicely and would be more consistent with the map. You'll have to remove 00:40:956 (2) if you do so and probably rearrange the pattern in some way.
    00:46:473 (2) - move to 00:46:301 (and fix spacing)
    00:47:852 (1) - remove a repetition, add a beat at 00:49:059 and 00:49:577
    00:55:439 (3) - make it 1/2 shorter
    00:50:611 (1) - make 1/2 longer; 00:51:128 (2) - delete; 00:51:473 - add a beat; 00:51:990 (3) - move at 00:51:818
    00:59:577 (3) - delete; 00:59:577 - add a beat; 01:00:266 (4) - move 1/2 before

I never really like the white ticks in the first place though. I thought it was just something I had to use.
But anyways, I fixed plenty of things I thought shouldn't be in white ticks and that whistle trick, since it's pretty.

Audio Lead-In is too long, 1000-1500ms is pretty enough
you can add "A Bridge to the Starry Skies" to the tags as Engish version of sourse
Also, i didn't find this track as opening/eding of this anime. would be glad to see sources or links.

  1. Is there any source that tells you "GO" is capitalized in the title? If so, post it here please. Otherwise, I'd rename it "Let's Go" (and you can leave out the silly shooting star at the end).
  2. Your tags are inconsistent, please make sure all the tags are the same and perform a full submit.
  3. nekonomitsu has had a name change, make sure this goes in the tags properly.
  4. You've mentioned that Taiko is getting taken out, so just remove everything related to the Taiko (background image, tags, etc.) and full submit.
  5. It appears meiikyuu's Hard does not have a re-Kiai at 02:57:508; was this intentional? I'm just wondering since neko's Easy has it.
  6. What is your reasoning behind five combo colours and not 4, which should match most 4/4 music closer?

  1. Remind me again, are these characters in the anime, and if so, what are their names?
  2. mochitxt3.png appears to be made to be placed on the left side of the canvas, when being compared to mytholtxtx33.png - the text is placed further on one side of the character so that the text is more centralized in regards to the map.
  3. In my opinion, your fade ins should start a whole 1/1 earlier, and your fade out should last 1/2 longer.

  1. 00:03:714 (1) - This slider feels like it's just for art; it's not mapped to anything except a straight 1/1. Consider something like this: http://puu.sh/v4Yt.
  2. 00:08:542 (1) - Having a slider this length feels awkward immediately after 00:07:680 (3) - . This is because you hear a syllable sung at 00:08:887 - and the slider is not yet over, which you don't have at (3) at all. I'd turn this into a slider + circle.
  3. 00:35:783 (2) - It seems you're missing a clap from the head of the slider.
  4. 00:38:542 - Since your claps are so dense, it would be beneficial to create normal-slidertick.wav in the sound of a clap to manipulate this slider tick here.
  5. 00:41:301 (2,3,4) - Curve these? It's to balance or match the previous combo.
  6. 00:49:921 (4) - If you feel the vocals drag out similar to 00:47:163 (4) - , make this a slider.
  7. 00:52:860 - You have an inherited point that is supposed to be snapped to this time.
  8. 00:53:370 (1) - I can't find the reason for this slider shape. One, the anchor is not at 00:53:714 - so it's not being mapped to the music, and two, it's not parallel to 00:51:818 (3) - , so it's not complimenting another object. Consider fixing this in one way or another.
  9. 01:00:094 (4) - Same with this one. Anchor should be at 01:00:439 - , and I would concave the curve upwards so it doesn't make the next objects look like you're just going around in a circle.
  10. 01:49:749 (2,3,4) - I would curve this slider and position the circles not at 90 degrees, since that gives off a very linear feel that isn't appropriate since the music sounds more free, rather than strict.
  11. 01:59:577 (1) - This is a poor representation of the music: the way you have it tells the player that both sides of the anchor have the same music since you have it symmetrical, when in fact, the anchor should be at 02:00:094 - to follow music the closest.   4. 01:07:163 (1) - What are these anchors mapping the slider to? If it was up to me, I'd have one anchor at 01:07:680 -, cutting the first part into a curve and the second part into a straight slider, and that's it.
  5. 01:09:577 - Expected object here; either place circle or make (3) a slider that fits with 01:08:370 (2) - and 01:09:921 (1) - .
  6. 01:37:508 (1,2) - These look like art more than anything, but compare this to what I said about 01:59:577 (1) in neko's Easy about misrepresentation. I don't feel the ends of the sliders should appear to have the same length.
  7. 02:07:852 (1) - Your use of the clap hitsounds is a bit awkward in this chorus. I'd recommend you stick to clap2 and 4 and let the whistles do the improvising.
  8. 02:48:542 (4) - From here until 03:05:783 (1) - you've got full on 1/1 spam, whereas your other choruses include unique 1/2 rhythms that make certain parts of the chorus stand out. Right now, play is really dull here, and considering it's the last chorus it should be the most exciting.
  9. 02:50:611 (3) - To grab the full effect of this curve representing that ascending pitched "woosh" sound (which I think you're trying to represent), I'd start this slider at 02:50:439 - .

  1. You've changed the stacking leniency from 7; have you done anything in particular that would affect your stacking? If not, replace it on 7, since that is default.
  2. 00:04:232 (4) - Stick to 1.00x spacing to follow 00:00:956 (1,2) - ?
  3. 00:17:508 (2) - The way you have this just so that (3) can be on time with the music and symmetrical at the same time is bad. (1,2) should be a single slider since (2) doesn't map to anything.
  4. 00:30:266 (2,3,4,5) - Based on 00:23:370 (3,4,5) - and 00:24:577 (2,3,4) - and their orientations, I think the formation should be more like something like this: http://puu.sh/v6hP
  5. 00:32:335 (4) - Expected this to be circle then a slider at 00:32:508 - to emphasize the highest note in the melody.
  6. 00:43:025 (3) - It also doesn't feel right (even though this is set a a better time) to have this same slider representing a different melody. If you're going to use a specific slider shape (that's not a simple curve or anything) to match a part in a song and you want to use it again, make sure it's either the same or very, very different.
  7. 01:06:301 - Too much of a break; this is Kiai time, and there's a rhythm you can be mapping to.
  8. 01:09:577 - I suggest you map the last "hai", too.

  13. 02:08:370 (2) - A whistle for the body without a sound for the head sounds a bit awkward. In addition, there are numerous parts in this chorus that have too much of a break. Even if you're deciding to map to vocals, you should have filler objects that are put in a way that they easily "work in the background" or compliment other objects easily.

  15. 02:31:990 (3) - Based on 02:29:921 (1,2,3,4) - following the rhythm, I feel this should kickback once, and have a slider going from 02:32:508 - to 02:32:852 - . After that, you'd continue the 1/2 sliders instead of using the 1/1 sliders you have now. It's a solo section that can be emphasized a lot, so you shouldn't have any breaks here. Look at the Collab; all the 1/2 are mapped. I wouldn't recommend 1/4 in this section of this diff though.
  16. 02:57:163 - Again, the last "hai".
  17. 03:02:335 - Emptiness starting here. You can map two sliders to follow the descending synthesizer tune, and I'd remove 03:02:939 (2) - . See my suggestion for 01:15:352 (2).

  1. 00:02:680 (2,3,1,2) - It doesn't make a lot of sense why you chose to start a rotational pattern starting here; it's not a beginning of anything in the music.
  2. 00:17:508 (1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5) - These streams are unnecessary; you really shouldn't map to nothing.
  3. 00:20:956 (1) - This stream is actually 9-stream, but if you're choosing to tone it down already, then that's fine too.
  4. 00:35:439 - I'd throw in an object here since you have 00:36:818 (1) - .
  5. 00:54:577 (6) - This comboing should be consistent with the previous phrase. If you don't remove NC here, add NC at 00:52:680 (3) - or 00:52:335 (2) - instead of 00:51:818 (1) - .
  6. 01:03:197 (3,4) - This was confusing. It wasn't as confusing as 01:01:990 (4,5) - because right now 01:03:370 (4) - is being covered by the hitburst of 01:02:163 (5) - , making it harder to read.
  7. 01:09:232 (4) - This stream is an overmap. You should map to the 1/2 here.
  8. 01:34:921 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2) - Reasoning behind these NC? Recall Chase the Light!.
  9. 01:39:577 (4) - This is overmapped, and 01:43:714 (4) - and 02:10:266 (1) - and 02:20:094 (1) - and at least three others. Check each 1/4 stream you have by temporarily removing the circles and listening to see if there's actually anything to be mapped to other than 1/2.
