[ Kantan]

[ Futsuu]

  3. 02:35:002 (40,41,42,43,44,45,46,47) - ^
  4. 02:17:107 (1,2) - 同kantan

[ Muzukashii]

[general]

[Taiko Kantan]

Anyway, solid diff

[Taiko Futsuu]

~

[Taiko Muzukashii]

Futsuu
~

[Taiko Oni]

[Kantan]

00:10:089 (1,2) - del ?
・or start notes from 00:08:686 - ? where I can find starts snare, but I think not necessary for Kantan.

01:18:160 (108) - del
・for this (109) - D clearly.

02:50:440 (57) - move 1/1 > ?
・1/1 big doublet, but is okay I think.

[Futsuu]
・sounds good!

[Muzukashii]
01:29:388 (121) - k ?
・to unify 01:23:774 (109,110,111) -

01:32:019 (130,131,132,133,134,135) - dkdkkd
01:37:633 (154,155,156,157,158,159) - dkdkkd
・for triangle saw and drums. and for a bit pattern.

02:50:616 (142) - delete
or
02:50:967 (144) - delete
・make something stand out for the end.

[Oni]
00:15:528 (36,37,38,39,40) - d_ddd_k
・In comparison with later, its a bit uncomfortable feeling.

00:12:545 (14,15,16,17,18,19,20) - ,
00:18:160 (55,56,57,58,59,60) -
00:20:967 (73,74,75,76,77,78,79) -

00:52:195 (278) - k
-1 00:52:282 (279) - d
・00:52:282 (279) - k is not recomannded, but kkd is ok for drums.

01:40:089 (602,603,604) - kdk?

02:27:282 (65) - k
-1 02:27:458 (66,67,68,69) - (dddd) > ddd
・for snare.
・there's no sound for 1/6, and silence, maybe no good for many notes even through this brake.

02:48:160 (217,218,219) - dkd

really good map! go go rank~((っ・ω・)っ☆
Lust
hello, from my queue

[Taiko Kantan]
  1. 00:11:493 (3,8,13,18,23) - Maybe change these in to kats. I feel as the vocal there would be better accented by the hitsound the k's give off and contrast well with the pattern you have going.
  2. 00:33:598 (40) - Move this to 00:33:247 - to completely capture the vocal? I think where it is now is pretty excess and the beat here is a bit stronger
  3. 00:37:107 (46) - ^ to 00:36:756 perhaps? If you do move it change it to k. Would feel and play way better imo with the music
  4. 00:38:510 (49) - ^ to 00:38:160 and change to k for the same reason
  5. 00:55:703 (72) - - big K to add a variety? Also nice with the music tbh. Also would make sense with 00:57:107 (74) - being a similar sound
  6. 02:03:774 (183) - k to match your theme of k's being on the quieter parts? leads in well imo
[Taiko Futsuu]
Looks good, can't really point anything out (maybe its my limited experience with the mode lol)
  1. 02:51:317 - Have a big D here for a nice end to the diff?
[Taiko Muzukashii]
  1. 00:50:703 - Add a d to follow the guitar and drums? Works well and provides for a nice leadin to the more exciting part of the map
  2. 00:53:949 (170) - Change to d, if you follow my next suggestions
  3. 00:54:037 - Add a k to follow the drum, plays well and fits with the music
  4. 00:54:212 - ^
  5. 01:23:774 (109) - Change to d to follow your rhythm structure in this part. You have the same for 01:20:967 (103,115,121) -
[Taiko Oni]
Looks and plays very nicely for the most part, can't really pick anything out x)

Nice set, good luck for rank mintong!

mod req from Nwolf's Queue!

Black = Suggestion/small recommendation
Orange = Strong recommendation, normally more in-depth but sometimes short and simple
Red = Unrankable issues

Kantan
  1. maybe from the beginning to 00:22:721 - you could try having a slightly less repetitive structure in terms of patterns by following more of the high pitches e.g. 00:14:300 (8) - changing this to kat would make the pattern ddk (1/1) which gives a nice bit of variety to the intro
  2. 00:32:896 (39) - Perhaps move this to 00:33:247 - so that you can follow more of the main song rather than having a weird 2-2 pattern that beginners might end up hitting 3 on anyways simply because it's more natural? If you move that note then also make 00:32:545 (38) - a kat for a nice prolonged feeling
  3. 00:50:791 (63) - Maybe add a finisher here 'cause the song gets much louder here? just a nitpick~
  4. 00:53:598 (67,68,69,70,71) - this might play kinda awkwardly for beginners considering the song is 171 BPM; ddddD (1/1) doesn't really seem ideal for a Kantan; more an easy Futsuu imo; so maybe delete 68 or 70 to keep the finisher a bit more separate and understandable for beginners?
  5. 01:32:896 (127) - refer to first suggestion (specifically 00:14:300)
  6. 02:06:405 (187) - I'd probably recommend you follow the vocal here by moving this note over to 02:06:581 - instead as the 3/2 can be unexpected to beginners (especially because you didn't use any red-tick rhythms prior)
  7. 02:51:493 - Perhaps add a big don here to follow the final guitar and also because the song actually ends here
Futsuu
  1. 00:24:826 (41) - Maybe change this to don because the vocal is quite low-pitch and short and the higher pitch vocals are given good pitch relevancy as a result, which causes a bit more emphasis on the kats?
  2. 00:25:528 (43,44,45,46,47,48,49) - wait why did you suddenly change structure in the middle of a section of music which is rather consistent with its structure? you follow the vocals' simple structure then these follow the drums' backbeat structure and then you go back to the vocal structure; stay consistent by making these patterns more vocal-structured
  3. 01:27:809 (184) - nitpick but perhaps change this to a don just to give a little bit more variety to patterns while keeping it simple? the two kats after this one are really emphasised so a don here gives them more oomph :3
  4. 02:38:160 (47) - another nitpick; change this to a don because the note after has the most emphasis out of the three 2/1s perhaps?
  5. 02:51:493 - Refer to Kantan
Muzukashii
  1. 00:23:247 (56) - how about making this a kat to follow the kick drum in the same way you did every other time in this section?
  2. 01:27:809 (118) - refer to Futsuu
  3. 01:42:545 (176) - see first suggestion
  4. 01:53:774 (225) - same thing here as previous
  5. 02:51:493 - this might also apply here but because you made the final note seem more like it's actually the final note I don't really care what you do here
too lazy to mod Oni...orz ;_; it probably doesn't need much attention anyways

also how do I mod this Muzu

good luck for rank

00:01 aabc271: Like this http://osu.ppy.sh/ss/2015339
00:02 mintong89: ah yeah I'd prefer to follow the rhythm (ddddk k then ddkkk k then dkkkk k)
00:03 mintong89: but*
00:04 aabc271: If you wanna keep the progressive 5-plets then you probably can't delete the notes. So tell me if you insist on current patterns
00:04 aabc271: If I were you I'd apply the above change + maybe change 01:05:528 - into ddkkk
00:06 mintong89: oh
00:06 mintong89: that's better
00:06 mintong89: ok :3
00:06 aabc271: k :3
00:09 aabc271: 01:44:388 - kd k ? That k might sound a bit less significant but this helps a lot on pattern consistency
00:09 mintong89: sure
00:10 mintong89: and also make 01:52:809 (686,687,688) - this to kd k too
00:10 aabc271: k ;3
00:11 aabc271: 01:46:142 - Move 643 to 01:45:791 - ? Depends if you wanna make this section 5-plets only and without any other 1/4
00:12 mintong89: nah, I don't want make 5-plets at here, just like the first part
00:12 mintong89: 01:42:896 (620,621,622,623,624,625,626,627) -
00:14 aabc271: Then 01:49:388 - ddkkd ? Somehow this part is less "colorful" than previous parts, and this change may keep the hitsounds more varied just like the other parts
00:14 aabc271: Same as 01:52:370 - k. Also the drum thing
00:16 mintong89: well, ok
00:16 mintong89: :P
00:16 aabc271: :P
00:16 mintong89: fixed
00:16 aabc271: k ww
00:20 aabc271: 02:04:037 - You might want a slightly less dense notes in this section, since there's only drum left and sounds differently from previous parts https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/2015397
00:22 mintong89: well it's quite weird but you're right, fixed x_x
00:23 aabc271: k :3
00:23 mintong89: but i've fix to different pattern
00:24 aabc271: Alright then :3
00:24 mintong89: http://puu.sh/bqP0W.jpg
00:24 aabc271: Fine to me :3
00:26 aabc271: 02:17:107 - Maybe this green line should be at 02:06:581 - instead. I know there's no note but it's the place where the silent part starts
00:26 aabc271: And you may consider a slightly louder volume at 02:17:809 -, like 60%
00:26 aabc271: Since it's not as soft at that silent part which has only 50%
00:27 mintong89: well ok, fixed
00:29 aabc271: 02:27:458 - Just saying someone might complain because there's no 1/6 sound here. I'm personally fine with this so it depends whether you wanna change this
00:30 mintong89: still want this pattern lol, sorry
00:32 aabc271: k w
00:32 aabc271: So do you want to add some more rests at last kiai ?
00:32 aabc271: That section is well, so long lol
00:33 mintong89: o.o
00:33 mintong89: you mean break time?
00:34 aabc271: Nonono w
00:34 aabc271: 02:29:037 (71~227) - No single rest o.O
00:35 mintong89: yeah, rests = break time
00:35 mintong89: haha
00:35 mintong89: 02:40:791 - deleted
00:35 aabc271: I guess you meant that white break section lol
00:36 aabc271: I'd prefer deleting 02:35:879 - and 02:37:282 - instead. 02:40:791 - seems to cut the section quite inconsistently ?
00:38 mintong89: hmm ok delete first one but not second one
00:38 mintong89: to follow vocal
00:38 aabc271: Then what about deleting 02:47:107 (208,209) - as well ?
00:39 aabc271: Same part of song
00:40 mintong89: hmm
00:40 mintong89: 02:47:458 - delete this
00:41 aabc271: That's not very consistent but just go ahead if you feel this fitting :3
00:41 aabc271: Move on to muzu ?
00:41 mintong89: sure
00:41 mintong89: :D
00:41 aabc271: :D
00:42 aabc271: Wait, let me press kancolle a while. 1 min lol
00:42 mintong89: oh ok :o
00:44 aabc271: k back :3
00:45 aabc271: I guess someone will pop up and criticize on diff spread lol
00:45 aabc271: This might be troublesome on ranking maps. I dunno lol
00:46 mintong89: x_x
00:46 mintong89: but I think it's fine because actually the diff from muzu to oni isn't that hard?
00:46 mintong89: that fat*
00:46 mintong89: far
00:47 aabc271: Muzu is mainly 1/2-oriented with mostly single-colored isolated 1/4s
00:47 aabc271: Conparing with oni which has far less rests and harder 1/4s
00:47 aabc271: Well, I think I can accept and probably bubble. But be expected to be popped because of diff spread
00:48 aabc271: Esp for others who're more strict on such things
00:48 *aabc271 looks at qat
00:48 mintong89: i see
00:48 aabc271: So many unranks thanks to the new system
00:48 mintong89: haha
00:48 mintong89: well, that's quite stress to bat too
00:48 aabc271: Well, yeah
00:49 mintong89: but anyway I'll keep in mind to it, thanks!
00:50 aabc271: Sure. You don't want other bats to be slapped, right ? lol
00:50 mintong89: wwww
00:52 aabc271: Muzu : 00:10:616 - add d ?
00:52 mintong89: hmm ok
00:55 aabc271: 00:36:756 (108->112) - You might want patterns like 00:33:949 (100,101,102) - instead. Because I feel that other pairs of song sections are mapped quite consistently
00:57 mintong89: hmm ok
01:00 aabc271: The more parts I see, the more I'm concerned how other bats think about the spread lol
01:00 aabc271: Bats here tend to disagree with authentic taiko's diff spread, you know
01:01 mintong89: hmm
01:01 aabc271: Never mind. Let's care about the diff itself first
01:01 aabc271: I'll mention this at my post
------------------------------------------------------
01:12 aabc271: Anyway, back to modding huh ? lol
01:12 mintong89: ahh yeah
01:12 mintong89: forget
01:12 aabc271: Just don't slap me if they pop
01:12 aabc271: :D
01:12 mintong89: nah, thanks to you
01:12 mintong89: :D
01:12 aabc271: www
01:14 aabc271: Somehow hift f12 doesn't pop the screenshot for me...
01:14 aabc271: Wait
01:15 mintong89: it's fine haha, not in hurry
01:16 aabc271: 02:03:774 - Consider this ? Same reason as oni https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/2015582
01:17 mintong89: muzu?
01:17 aabc271: Yes
01:17 mintong89: fixed
01:22 aabc271: The diff itself seems fine to me. Simple so nothing much to say o.o
01:22 aabc271: I'll move on to futsuu
01:22 mintong89: ok o.o
01:25 aabc271: I dunno if you feel the same as me
01:25 aabc271: 00:45:177 - Seems this calmer part has even higher density o.O
01:27 mintong89: hmm
01:27 mintong89: puu.sh/bqTct.jpg
01:27 mintong89: ?
01:27 mintong89: http://puu.sh/bqTct.jpg
01:27 mintong89: is better?
01:27 aabc271: Yes :3
01:28 mintong89: quite sleppy, can't focus to type english. sorry orz
01:28 mintong89: sleepy
01:28 aabc271: It's ok lol
01:28 aabc271: My bad. I always online mod and take others so much time lololol
01:29 aabc271: Again, futsuu <-> muzu spread
01:29 aabc271: Some people will slap you
01:29 mintong89: 1.80 -> 2.72
01:29 aabc271: Just go sleep if you wanna do so
01:29 mintong89: hmm, well I think it's acceptable?
01:29 aabc271: I don't care about star rating lol
01:30 aabc271: It sucks till today lololol
01:30 mintong89: x_x
01:30 aabc271: I look at more objective things like pattern usage and note density more
01:30 aabc271: Your set's spread is like those we see in authentic taiko
01:30 aabc271: But this is usually not liked by bats here lol
01:31 mintong89: o_o...
01:31 mintong89: orz
01:32 aabc271: Let's see how they think
01:32 aabc271: They'll blabla and say no to the spread
01:32 aabc271: And from my viewpoint it could be large too
01:32 aabc271: But still acceptable
01:33 mintong89: i see
01:33 aabc271: Your futsuu is like my kantan
01:33 aabc271: lololol
01:33 mintong89: haha, I'm always make easy futsuu
01:33 mintong89: ww
01:34 aabc271: 02:03:774 - same thing
01:34 aabc271: I can't find much when the map is drum-oriented + easy
01:35 mintong89: d d d kk (1/1)
01:35 mintong89: d d d d.kk (1/1) *
01:35 aabc271: Maybe I'm not so good at drum-mapping so I only point out really significant things when I see maps like this
01:35 aabc271: k :3
01:36 mintong89: nah, the mod from my map to futsuu are these too. haha
01:36 mintong89: omg this english
01:36 aabc271: lol
01:36 aabc271: You're so tired probably
01:36 aabc271: I need to be fast lolololol
01:37 mintong89: it still fine haha take your time
01:37 aabc271: Kantan then lol
01:37 aabc271: I shouldn't take you too much time
01:37 aabc271: 00:35:353 (43->52) - Not sure if new players can understand this well ?
01:38 mintong89: hmm
01:38 aabc271: It doesn't really match vocal and following only bass drum is quite difficult for newbies
01:38 mintong89: d ddd ddd d d k?
01:38 mintong89: (1/1)
01:39 aabc271: Should be better :3
01:39 mintong89: :3
01:39 mintong89: k
01:40 aabc271: Serious, this kantan is sooooooooooo easy
01:40 aabc271: lol
01:40 mintong89: www
01:41 aabc271: I can't even suggest changes to the 1/1 hitsounds
01:41 aabc271: lolol
01:41 aabc271: 02:06:405 - Quite unexpected ?
01:42 aabc271: I first thought you'd place this k at 02:06:581 -
01:42 mintong89: ah yeah i trying to fit the drum lol
01:42 mintong89: so that's why i put it so long rest
01:42 aabc271: I know, but I really have no idea how the new players react
01:43 mintong89: yeah, you're right haha
01:43 mintong89: put at 02:06:581 (185) - ~
01:43 aabc271: I guess empty section -> People expect simple timing
01:43 mintong89: and change to d
01:43 mintong89: yeah
01:43 aabc271: k :3
01:44 aabc271: 02:28:686 - Maybe you'll want to delete this for simplificity
01:44 aabc271: You know, this is kantan only
01:45 aabc271: New players tend to only very obvious sounds
01:45 mintong89: ah
01:45 aabc271: tend to only notice*
01:45 mintong89: why i put this lol, deleted
01:45 aabc271: k ww
01:45 mintong89: yeah
01:46 aabc271: 02:49:738 (56,57,58) - This spacing might be hard at first sight ?
01:46 aabc271: Adding one K at 02:50:791 - might help
01:46 mintong89: hmm ok
01:46 mintong89: :D
01:47 aabc271: :D
01:47 aabc271: So yeah. Had a quick look on the diffs
01:47 aabc271: And they're of course fine to me
01:47 aabc271: bat = quality =w=b
01:47 aabc271: The only concern is the diff spread
01:47 mintong89: hehe
01:47 aabc271: I expect someone to slap you about futsuu <-> muzu <-> oni
01:47 aabc271: But for now, let me post this chatlog to the post w
01:47 mintong89: i hope not x_x
01:47 mintong89: ok
01:48 mintong89: should i update it?
01:48 mintong89: now*
01:48 aabc271: Sure
01:48 aabc271: I'll have a scan on the diffs and then bubble
01:49 mintong89: yay, thanks a lot!

I'll say the 4 diffs are all in good quality. They're mapped closely to the drums and the hitsounds sound good in gameplay :)

The only concern I have is the diff spread, especially futsuu <-> muzu <-> oni
The spread is quite large, considering the note density and the majority of patterns used in each diff
But I'd still consider that as acceptable because I find this mapset spread very similar to what we usually see in authentic diff
The jump might be quite borderline so I think I'll let the BAT coming for rank and QATs to have the final decision

@BAT who wants to check this : Please feel free to pop the bubble if you find the diff spread unacceptable. I know it might be too big if you're strict on that

But for now, let me just bubble this first. After all, the diffs are actually nicely mapped when considering them individually :3

Good luck on ranking this :)

Thanks a lot!
Love
Yeah, as said before, the jump is pretty high. There's a lot of parts that could be mapped differently.

We'll only look at the Oni as this is the only problem I have.

There are a ton of unnecessary 1/4 such as 00:12:896 (16,17,18,19,20) - 00:16:405 (42,43,44,45,46,47,48) and 00:21:317 (75,76,77,78,79) . These are a bit extensive and really not necessary. I understand the 1/4 on rolls like 00:22:019 (81,82,83,84,85,86,87,88,89) - because they are mapped to the drum roll.

We also have parts that feel like they should be ok, but they could be reduced. We'll take 00:27:721 (123,128) - for example. These could be removed to fit the hi-hats that are present instead of extending the patterns out. So I'd just go back and re-do some of the extended patterns. I can understand most of the 1/4 at the start of the map but when you extended it to 5+, that's where it just started going bonkers.

Now lets go with an actual mod. Skip to the end for a quick note.

[Oni]

  1. 00:10:791 (5,6,7) - Change these to k to provide more emphasis on the louder/build-up of snares.
  2. 00:12:984 (17) - Delete this to help reduce this extended pattern, this also goes with the 1/2 strums of the guitar so that it helps keep that rhythm.
  3. 00:16:405 (41,42,43,44,45,46,47) - Change this to d ddk k. This keeps that 1/2 rhythm as I was saying without going too far away from the synth that is present.
  4. 00:21:405 (73) - Delete this to reduce the extended pattern as well.
  5. 00:23:510 (91) - Delete this since the hi-hat isn't present here. You could add a k onto 00:24:037 to bring that out.
  6. 00:24:914 (100) - This could be moved to 00:24:738 and changed to a k for that hi-hat.
  7. 00:26:142 (109) - Delete this since the hi-hat isn't present.
  8. 00:25:791 (106,107,108,109,110,111,112,113,114,115) - Try changing this to dd d d k d kkd. This will bring out the snares and keep that hi-hat feeling. Trying to mix the vocals is pretty bad here due to there being such a unique pattern with the hi-hats that are present.
  9. 00:27:721 (119,124) - I already explained earlier that this could be removed to break this down more.
  10. 00:29:037 (127,128,129,131,132,133) - These feel very weird. Try keeping the same patterns used before and keeping it to the hi-hats.
  11. 00:30:002 (134) - This is snapped incorrectly and should be on 00:29:914 instead.
  12. 00:30:967 (141) - Why is this suddenly not a k for the snare? Change 00:30:967 (141,142) - to kk so that it flows out of the snare.
  13. 00:32:019 (148,149,150,151,152,153) - Same for these as well, you could use kkd kkd for the snares and change 00:31:668 (146,147) to d d which bring out the drums a lot more.
  14. 00:33:335 (158,163) - This could definitely be removed as explained at the start of this post to break this down.
  15. 00:38:949 (193,198) - ^
  16. 00:41:230 (209) - Move this to 00:41:581 - to extend these hi-hats.
  17. 00:43:072 (221,222,223,224,225,226) - Change this to just d k d k d.
  18. 00:44:124 (227,230,231,232) - Change these all to k. This keeps the hi-hats present.
  19. 00:52:458 - Add a d here for the hi-hat that is missing as well. This doesn't need to be broken down as much.
  20. 00:53:774 (281) - Delete this as the change-up provides nothing here.
  21. I don't know how to keep this kiai in your style, but this is really over-the-top. You could do a lot better.
I'm going to stop here, I expect better or a new diff to compensate for the huge gap. and keeping this as an Inner Oni. But I would rather you make changes as such a song doesn't really need an Inner Oni, but your choice.

Harsh mod is harsh :<

also I probably should've commented on the large gap ;_;

Thanks for mod anyway! Will reply it later!

Oni mod from PM request

[ Taiko Oni]

  2. 00:47:107 (199) - change to k?
  3. 01:06:230 (294) - k? it is higher than 01:05:528 (291) -
  4. 01:45:177 (494,495) - swap, so 01:45:353 - can meet at the drum in the music
