Hey guys,
I'm having an issue with the slider settings in my skin.ini

I have:
[Sliders]
SliderBallFlip: 1
SliderBallFrames: 10
SliderStyle: 2
CursorRotate: 0
SliderBorder: 255,255,255
SliderTrackOverride: 0,0,0

but the track still shows up the default pinkish color.
I have the beatmap skins overridden in my osu settings.

Any ideas?
dws123
try making the slidertrackoverride 0,0,1
it worked for me

You can't code your skin.ini like that,
here's what you should write:
[General]
SliderBallFlip: 1
SliderBallFrames: 10
SliderStyle: 2
CursorRotate: 0
[Colours]
SliderBorder: 255,255,255
SliderTrackOverride: 0,0,0

Everything colour-related settings should go under [Colours] section, otherwise put them under [General] or [Fonts] section

Let's say I wanted the 4 columns of 4K to be seperated. It's like this right now:
| | | | |
| | | | |
| | | | |
| | | | |
| 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 |

But I want it like this:

| | | | | |
| | | | | |
| | | | | |
| | | | | |
| 1 | 2 | | 3 | 4 |

would this be possible?

Is it possible to change the color of the menu-button background in the skin.ini? Like inactive songs are orange, active song is blue, active song is white, active collection is green, inactive collection is dark blue. If you can change the colors, could someone tell me how?
Quichey
The menu-backgrounds are multiplied with orange and blue. Unfortunately, there is no way to change what those colors are.
Here are the colors multiplied with the ROYGBIV spectrum and perpendicular with the black->white gradient:

Blue

Orange

can someone help me make this hitcircle HD? I made it myself using some other elements from the skins I downloaded, but it's just SD.

Edit:

And please add an approach circle that fits the hit circle. TY so much.

POSTING A NEW ELEMENT

note: this can be HD'fied

I will provide you example: created 66x66 cursor-smoke.png

Having skywrite element (cursor-smoke.png) is optional though...
Since most of the users here don't do it (skywriting) that much. :3

do you HAVE TO hold c for the smoke or is it toggleable?

Holding "C" alone creates just a dot. Moving your cursor while holding "C" makes sense for skywriting

guys, i mean if there is a possibility to skywrite all the time without having to hold c all the time as well
OsuMe65
Not possible, so far.

Resolved through PM
deadbeat
from the changelog
[peppy] Add skin config setting for slider ball tint (AllowSliderBallTint=1).
[peppy] Add options menu setting for combo-based slider ball colour.
Custom_sliderb_colors: [peppy] Add SliderBall skin setting for changing colour of default skin sliderball.
Custom_sliderb_colors: [RBRat3] Add colorable sliderb sprites.
OsuMe65
That's one decent change over there.

This helps New Skinners, for sure.
Quichey
Not very clear how it's colorized. The only skin I can get to have colored sliderballs is the default skin.

EDIT:
Figured it out. Put it under the general stuff in the skin.ini.
//Should the Slider Ball be tinted with the combo color?

did you try to resize it before your post the problem?

any way i found this on osu!gameplay.dll but i dunno the function of this element can someone tell me? and what the name of the element?

Colored slider balls is kinda cool, I dunno if I'll keep using it though, since I had my slider ball white for readability in the first place. :P
RBRat3
The premise of colorable sliderballs is so skinners/mappers dont have to reinvent the wheel just to change sliderball colors, It was never my intention to add feature onto custom balls ;)

Eizan Arizawa wrote:

That would be the sliderball specular (which is getting changed again) it's purpose is to give the ball a specular highlight that's in a fixed position and doesn't rotate with the ball, In a nutshell it's just fake lighting. sliderb-spec.png

It's my personal skin that I've been Editing off and on for two years so there's no link. It prolly won't ever be released because it uses a small amount of borrowed elements and I don't think I'll make replacements for them anytime soon. :P

Not skinnable, mistake when uploading :(
RBRat3

vahn10 wrote:

That would be the sliderb secondary, It's a static sprite like the specular that sits underneath the sliderball and gives it the ability to have a colorable secondary color which isn't currently configurable right now but soon will be.

Its a part that will soon be tintable but as of now it just makes up the black parts of the sliderball.
For now spec and nd are not skinnable just the sliderb and only work on the default ball.

Maybe this will help explain things better :D

It's not being colored it's adding higher value levels till it reaches white (or any other color), It's similar to using luminosity/lighting layer fx on photoshop. There are other elements that do this such as lighting.png, particle###.png, LightingN.png etc..

Nathanael
Menu Background only works if youre a supporter. Also, its image format is JPG.

This is the 3,000,000th post of the forum. XD
Ayesha Altugle
1. Make sure that is in .jpg format
2. Be a supporter

im trying to use the ddr extreme announcer for the combo counter. anyone know what for example i would name the file in my skin for 100 combo all the way up to 2000 combo?
OsuMe65
comboburst-(n).wav (must begin with 0 till infinite)

then, add ComboBurstSounds: (combo of the first sound), (combo of the 2nd sound),...

eg. comboburst-0.wav, comboburst-1.wav, comboburst-2.wav

[General]
ComboBurstSounds: 100, 200, 300

You will hear comboburst-0.wav on the 100th combo, comboburst-1 at 200th combo and comboburst-2.wav at 300th combo

i copied and pasted this ( ComboBurstSounds: 100, 200, 300) under the general section in the skin ini. and for the 100 combo wav file i renamed it to this (comboburst-0)

Spinner style is dependant on old skin/new skin behaviour. Version:1/2 will change your spinner.

Yes, it is. Supporter only.

Missing :

SpinnerBackground: 255,255,255
It fixes old style spinner background dim.

1. No, only correctly named files are loaded.
2. As far as I know it shouldn't because skin is loaded and rendered in moment of selecting skin/starting osu!. But it might be if you make a long animation and really fast. Something like 30 or more frames.

Black Outer Glow will do
Kert
Anything apart from changing font?
I had an idea of making wide hp bar but unfortunately it's layer is higher than font
TouchFluffyTail
The absolute most you could do is black the entire transparent background on the numbers, this would fudge the look of a black box background behind them.

You might want to set a separate 'ScorePrefix' for these so that it only pulls them for the score and not your combo and accuracy, just so it doesn't look silly.

How to do that? I know only prefixes for Score and Hitcircle
It's like using a custom number set in mania. In the [Fonts] section of the skin.ini you set 'ScorePrefix: score' to something different like 'ScorePrefix: BlackBG' and then you name your number set like BlackBG-0, BlackBG-1, BlackBG-2 and so on.

A quick note however; I haven't actually messed around with this too much in standard mode. It might pull your ScorePrefix for accuracy and combo, rendering this invalid. But it in theory it shouldn't do that.

Edit: You can also change your 'ScoreOverlap' (also in [Fonts]) to make the black backgrounds of the numbers match up pixel-perfect, if they don't already.

You'll also want to use a uniform width of your number's canvas to achieve a more straight look aswell.

Nathanael
If you check the new default template,
  1. spinner-middle2 is the circle with a half black color that you can see behind spinner-middle.
  2. spinner-glow will show when you at least completed the spinner, of course behind spinner-bottom.
Kert

It would've been better if there would be another setting to change the color of the spinner glow. It may be useful to match with the skins' theme.
