Hi there. Part of my m4m deal.

Note that whatever I say is my own opinion, so you do not have to follow everything I say.

When I first heard this song, I was thinking 'where have I heard this before?'. I first heard this via a remix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raQK3STpV3c, and there is a beatmap of this on osu!.

General
1) Go for some custom combo colours.

2) Right now the background does not look that good because I assume it is a screenshot. Try and search online for some nice renders of the background you want.

3) Check AI mod as there are some conflicts in terms of metadata and whatnot.


Insane
1) 00:08:355 (4,1,2) - What interests me is that at 00:09:944 (3) you use a 6/4 repeating slider to follow the vocals, if I am correct. but for this 00:08:355 (4,1,2) you do not do that even though it is the same vocal pattern, and I assume you do that to make the map a bit more diverse. In my opinion I would use a 6/4 repeating slider like you did at 00:09:944 (3). It fits a whole lot better.

2) 00:12:030 (5) - Move to 00:12:130 (5). Another alternative is to have a 6/4 slider from 00:11:534 if you want to follow the vocals.

3) 00:21:467 (6) - The slider is not even on both sides, you can confirm that numerically. In addition, the slider end overlaps partially with the previous note, so I would try and find another place to put it. Try flipping it and put it above and a bit to the left of the note.

4) 00:34:977 (8) - I would split this into a 1/2 slider and a note. Usually when mapping, the convention is to have strong beats made clickable. Sometimes this rule can be broken at some places, but generally we make strong beats clickable. 00:35:374 Is a white beat and in this case, it is a strong beat, so it should be clickable.

5) 00:51:865 Here there is a vocal bit that can be mapped. I would add a note here because it feels like something is missing if there is nothing mapped here.

6) 01:01:600 (3,4) - 3 and 4 are not aligned properly. You can confirm that numerically. Move slider 4 up by 3 pixels so it is aligned with 4.

7) 01:04:977 (1) - To me it feels a bit weird not having this note at x = 256. Then again it is a small thing so you do not have to worry about it. That said, 01:04:977 (1,2,3,4,5,6,1,2,3,4,5,6) - is a cool pattern.

8) 01:23:056 (1,2,3,4,5) - The star pattern is quite uneven. I recommend using ctrl+shift+d to make a nicely shaped star. This may be useful for some other patterns you use.

The difficulty is fine but I find that the notes are pretty close together. Not that there is anything wrong with that if that is how you like to map. Also I feel that there are not many hitsounds used so it sounds a bit bland imo.

1) 00:06:766 (1,3) - The sliders are not even either side. You can confirm that numerically. Try and refine them so they are even on both sides.

2) 00:19:282 (2) - Split this into 2 notes. The reason is that 00:19:481 is a large white tick and in this case, this is a strong beat, and strong beats should be clickable.

3) 00:26:435 Here there is a vocal bit so you can add a note if you want to map the vocal bit. 00:26:534 has some sound so you can go further and add another note to make it a triple.

I can hear what you are trying to follow but that may trip up some players. I think for now you should be fine.

4) 00:46:699 (3) - This slider is risky as a majority of the slider is out of the field. I would find another place to place the note.

5) 00:57:825 (1) - I would shorten the spinner to 00:58:819, since players may not have much time to recover. This is completely your choice though.

1) 00:19:878 (1,2,3) - The placement is not even and so it does not look good. Try and get it like this: https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/5192623.
Tip: Place slider 1 at (256,119), then make 2 copies and rotate them around the playfield 120 degrees. You also get 0.9x distance snap exactly. Then change the order of the sliders via (ctrl+g) and you will get this: https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/5192634

Much more even isn't it?

2) Something to note that is for normal and easy difficulties, the convention is to enable distance snap for the whole song because new players would not have adapted to changes in distance and what not. I understand where you are trying to go in terms of symmetry and such but due the changes in the distance you use, some beats are too far apart from each other in which case people will hit extremely late and miss, and some are too close such that some people will hit way too early.

The patterns you have are very nice, but the placement needs a bit more thinking. See if you can place them while keeping the beats at 0.9x distance apart, since you seem to be using that setting.

3) 01:21:268 (1) - Shorten the spinner to 01:23:056. Right now it would be next to impossible for new players to spin fully and then hit the next note in such a short span of time. The convention is for 4 white ticks for easy, 3 white ticks separation for normal difficulties.

4) 01:24:646 Try this rhythm pattern (you decide the placement though). https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/5192732 It may come close to what you are looking for.

5) 01:27:030 (2,3) - Combine them into a 1/2 slider so it is easier to play.

Final thoughts
You may need to look at some more maps for inspiration. From what I have seen, you seem to be getting inspiration from older style maps. If that is the way you would like to map, go with it (I like mapping old style too). Just try and keep within the ranking criteria and whatnot.

Hi, first off, for this map to be ranked, you NEED to have at least one difficulty that is BELOW 2.0 stars. I'll just consider this a normal map for now instead of an easy one. Here's a quote: "It is generally allowed to skip the [Easy] difficulty if the [Normal] difficulty follows the general guidelines of an Easy map."

Also I recommend turning down the HP Drain rate for this, I failed like so quickly when I barely missed anything!

Honestly, I would STRONGLY recommend revisiting the beat map guidelines that the previous poster before me linked you! They're very helpful!
I'm not saying you need to remap, but I think this map needs a bit more work^ (Sorry I don't mean to come off as mean :()
Here's some more things to consider that I didn't really know when I started beat mapping!
Under the timing section, try to add more timing points! I see you already have 5 down, but if you look at some already ranked maps, you'll see they have A LOT more. Also try to change the slider velocity of each according to the song! This will also change your distance snapping, without you changing it, to the speed of the song! Speaking of distance snapping, it's VERY important to keep it consistent at earlier difficulties. At insane/extra difficulties you can play with it more!
In the end, I really recommend you check out already ranked maps in editting mode to see what they're doing to compare it to yours!

I don't really think I can do more with this in all honesty. Looking at the map itself, there are HUGE sections I'm pointing out where flow feels very old-map style. It does remind me of some of my own older maps. BUT I will suggest, look at some recent maps that are similar, and make changes accordingly!


Overall, the set itself is good for a beginner, just... it's a bit hard to say this is actually rankable. After a good amount of work maybe! You're definitely on your way though!

I don't really think I can do more with this in all honesty. Looking at the map itself, there are HUGE sections I'm pointing out where flow feels very old-map style. It does remind me of some of my own older maps. BUT I will suggest, look at some recent maps that are similar, and make changes accordingly!


Overall, the set itself is good for a beginner, just... it's a bit hard to say this is actually rankable. After a good amount of work maybe! You're definitely on your way though!

Note: All of my suggestions here are optional. You can either apply it or not or rather get a better idea than these. It all depends on you since you are the composer of the map. :)

* Some of your current inherited points are unsnapped and inconsistent (Same goes for the Kiai time). I have created here a difficulty the link is down below. You can base its properties and apply it to your other difficulties (again depends on you).

*Your mp3 quality is quite high than what the game recommends. Convert it into a lower bitrate.

General:

1. 00:22:063 (1,2,3,4) – You should avoid too much circle spams like these on this kind of difficulties.

2. 00:25:043 (1) – I suggest reducing the amount of kicks. I suggest just doing one kick on this kind of notes is enough on Normal diffs.

3. 00:52:063 (3,1,2,3) – Consider of splitting up their current placements. It’s quite confusing if you look at them thoroughly making it more difficult for the rookies to follow. Make a good formation that does have a good flow (take a look at nekodex – circles map on normal difficulty for ideas). Same goes for this one as well ( 01:08:752 (1,2,3,4,5,6,1) ). I’m not gonna point out the others since it happens a lot on this difficulty. I know you can manage to find the others if you got the point. :)

• Current mp3 is unrankeable, it must be 192kbps or lower, use this mp3 (just drop it in the songs folder), there's no much difference, also you must change the offset for the new mp3:
  • offset: 417 (+9 current timing and resnap the notes (Ctrl+A and move them))
• Remove the current tags and use this ones:
  • Tags: Asura Cryin' Kurain opening op の曲 スパイラル

Normal

• Check Aimod (Ctrl+Shift+A), theres a lot of spacing issues
for example: 00:25:848 (3,4) - in this part you are using 1,2 spacing (i think) and randomly it change to 0,3, on Easy and Normal the spacing always need to be consistant, better explained in here
01:11:344 (6,7,8) - this is other example, the spacing between 6 and 7 is the same as 7 to 8 but the time between them is not the same, this can confuse new players
Im not sayin "you need to remap bla bla....", your rhythm is good, just try to fix the spacing without change to much the map :D
im gonna stop here my mod, probably you may need to do so many things :p
