Because this subforum needs more quality.

You are recruited to the OT Quality BrigadeRailey2 wrote:

I do go back and read the ancient scrolls from to time thoughEneT wrote:
abraker, you were never around during a time OT was ever considered decent though...
One side of the wall will be covered with shitposts so that the newfags will never know what quality is.Brian OA wrote:
Truth is, the answer he's looking for is building a giant wall and deporting all the newfags and shitposters out of OT.

stupid, stupid or stupid
That is a good point, but that only applies to part of the userbase, which is mostly comprised of bitter oldfags or people that have bought into some utopian view. If things seem "worse" it would only seem that way to someone with that standpoint. At the end of the day, OT is the way it is because it wants to be that way. That's not changing unless something drastic happens.Foxtrot wrote:
In my opinion, it seems like OT is trying too hard to be good, and that's why it's getting worse each year. Everything feels kind of forced nowadays. It seems like a lot of users have the pressure of making OT a good place, but at the end of the day, this was meant to be a "hang out" spot instead of... whatever you guy are trying to achieve out of this. In other words, this place needs to calm the fuck down. Just throwing my two cents out there.
the standards that naturally result from the userbase are absolute dogshit though, in fact these forums are a prime example of thatB1rd wrote:
But trying to artificially create standards is useless anyway because standards naturally result from the userbase.
this is good, because then you can actually build a ground for discussion instead of having everything be worthless memes and shitpostsB1rd wrote:
Artificially creating standards will do nothing but alienate people that do not conform to these standards.
Actually this keeps a forum alive, and not moderating stuff results it in turning to shit. Example: OT.B1rd wrote:
Moderator action against the 'unwanted' elements of a forum rather than letting the natural social forces do their work would be the way that a forum becomes too insular thus stale and repetitive.
And this is why people are trying too hard to come up with original content.Mahogany wrote:

I agree with this very much, although I feel like the "trying too hard" stuff varies depending on the time of the year for some reasonFoxtrot wrote:

yeah this is what I mean by the type of content changing depending on the time of yearEneT wrote:
This however, is better than what ITT was like 6 months ago. Nothing but one word posts and spam from FG losers.
First thing happens naturally but some users here banish them out of OT so that's no solution for now.Railey2 wrote:
