I wonder why Koigokoro is placed first - I mean, daidai's bpm is lower and maybe it's better to organise songs in order of bpm?

It's in terms of difficulty, and the name is also the order; Koigonome FriendS. The background also suits the song order from left to right.

First mod (and probably not last one), after playing this nomod and hidden, here are some suggestions.

Cheers :D! Glad to have the honor of your first mod. Some tips I can give you are (Ayy lmao I have like 5 days of mapping and modding experience, I'm totally qualified to give you some tips right?) add some more reasoning, or reasoning at all to your modding. Even an opinionated reason (Followed by imo would be best) is better than no reason at all, or just "change this combo colour" etc., it will help the mapper make the decision. Also use [ Title of diff / General ], [ list ] and [ * ] (No spaces) to make it look better.

  4. 03:53:016 (1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3) - Maybe it would look better overall if second triple was facing the opposite of the first and third.
  5. 04:31:460 (1,2,3) - Stack this triple for easier reading imo.
  6. 04:55:016 (2,3,4,5,1) - Too much stream spacing again?
  7. 04:56:794 (1,2,3,4,1) - ^
  8. 06:01:238 (5,1,1,1) - I know you said hitsound pending, but just incase, mute slider ends obviously

Thanks for mod, I also thought about all of these, but I'm not too sure about the way to go with them, or if they even need fixing at all, so I'll wait for a more experienced modder / mapper's opinion on these cases. Also yes, I'm gonna mute those slider ends when I get to them lol.

  1. 00:23:193 (2,3,4,5,6) - Consider increasing the angle on these jumps, snapping in a straight line can be a nuiscance.
  2. 00:42:265 (3) - Majority of this section uses curved sliders. IMO, this slider should continue this trend to maintain consistency.
  3. 00:58:122 (2) - Move this note up to help flow better, lots of sharp-ish turns in this section and this smooth turn plays weird.
  4. 01:10:336 (6) - Move this note to the left, very close to note 4 and looks oddly spaced, merely aesthetic.
  5. 01:10:979 (2,3,4,5,6,7) - Increase of spacing caught me off guard, consider lowering the jump spacing on this combo or increasing the spacing on the previous combo to flow better.
  6. 02:30:265 (4,5) - Angle of snaps is quite small on these notes, consider making these more snappy to improve gameplay.
[Daidai Genome]

  1. 03:11:460 (1,2,1,2,1,2) - This back and forth pattern doesnt play very well, triangles would be a better fit for this section but I'll leave that to your disgression.
  2. 05:41:683 - ^
  3. 04:31:460 (1,2,3) - This short burst doesn't fit with the rest of the map, consider removing note 2 and moving note 1 to a space that suits.
  4. 06:06:683 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2) - Very awkward pattern to play, the repetetive movements are hard to replicate so many times in a row.

  1. 07:43:730 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - Very big increase in difficulty, especially coming off Daidai Genome. It's fine on the later 2 Kiai
  2. sections but consider lowering the difficulty of this section and building up to the later 2 sections.
  3. 07:56:797 (2) - Change to a single note or spinner, the slider end plays no part in the song and seems weird.
  4. 09:10:601 (4,5,6,7,8) - Difficulty is fine, but these notes are slightly awkward to play, after playing about with it something along the lines of...

08:44:650 (1,2,1,2,3,4,5,6) - this plays very awkwardly, consider remapping it similarly to the buildup to the previous chorus I don't think so, but did it anyway to improve it.
08:50:724 (3,1) - slider should start in 3's place Done, did some pretty sik blanket magic here to remap it if i say so myself
08:52:012 (3,4) - a slider from red to red matches the vocals and plays nicely Don't wanna start the 1/1 sliders til the one after this.

You've compiled maps that are known for their AR8 difficulties, and marathons generally tone the AR down even further, but you've made it much higher, both throwing off people who know the AR8 difficulties and making the marathon harder than it should be. I highly suggest at least changing to AR8.2.

Your flow is very off in almost I would say the majority of the map. I'd suggest a remap but since the song is so long perhaps only map sections with bad flow. You can find out if it's bad flow simply by following the beatmap in edit mode with your cursor, and when something feels off, fix it.

Most of the map is very unclean, as in, overlaps and missed stacking opportunities, ontop of lack of shapes for the most part, results in having this 'unclean' feel. I suggest you go over your map and fix overlaps, and generally try to stack more, and try to make some simple shapes, e.g a square, or triangle. These are simple and easy to make with almost any combination of sliders and hitcircles, and really should be utilized you improve your map's overall quality, and overall, clean it up.

[Marathon]
00:00:265 (1,2) - Make these the same slider.
00:01:122 (3) - Avoid overlap here.
00:01:336 (4) - Stack on the sliderend of 00:01:336 (4,1).
00:02:836 (3) - Try Ctrl+G, ctrl+left arrow, then stack on the start of 00:01:979 (1). If you don't want to do this, at least fix overlap here.
Now for a pattern change. Move 00:03:479 (5) - to X=336 Y=256. Make 00:03:693 (6) - look like this. Then copy 00:03:693 (6) - in place of 00:04:122 (7), ctrl+right arrow twice, then stack on 00:03:479 (5) - then stack 00:04:550 (8) - on the sliderend of 00:03:693 (6).
00:05:407 (1,2) - Here your flow is not very good, you have the cursor moving fast from (1) to (2), as it is a 1.5x distance snap jump, larger than the usual spacing, making it so the cursor gains speed, only to stop in it's tracks upon reaching (2) and forced to move upwards in a very uncomfortable way.
00:30:693 (4) - Not a very nice looking slider shape at all. I suggest using something more like this.
00:42:907 (5,3,7) - Stack these together. It makes no sense with your previous patterns to not have these stacked.
Another flow/pattern fix.
01:06:265 (3,4) - Ctrl+G.
01:06:693 (5) - Ctrl+G.
01:07:122 (1,2) - Ctrl+G.

I'll turn AR down to 8.5, I don't think that will make the earlier 2 songs too hard, but I'd say around 8.5 is the bare minimum for Best FriendS at least, although 8.8 would be more comfortable for it, I guess this will balance it out for the first 2 songs. AR increased back to 8.8, at popular demand by high ranking DT players, and by my judgement. 8.5 is too slow for Best FriendS, people thrown off by the high AR can get used to it easily (Provided they can read high AR), while not everyone can just read density as well as MillhioreF. 8.8 isn't even that fast for the 2 earlier maps anyway, my map has more density than the original AR8 maps due to patterns and stacks imo.

Wow, thanks heaps man, not only is this a mod to my map, this is like a whole lesson on mapping. I'll be honest, I had nearly no knowledge about mapping before I started this map, I didn't know what shit like blanket meant, or kd etc. etc. I've been learning the whole way. This more than doubled my progress. Good stuff! I'm basically gonna half remap a lot of it from here I think, now that I know a lot more about mapping structure, stacks, and flow and shit, very grateful for this mod.

Edit: Everything up to 4:20 (blaze it) has been remapped, feel free to mod anything until that point, but try not to mod anything after that point as I'm doing a semi-remap. Maybe even save your mods until I'm finished remapping so you can mod the whole thing :D


Edit 2: Remap complete! Stacks, blanketing, overall appearance and structure improved (or added in some cases) and overlaps removed, map looks a whole lot cleaner now imo. Resume modding as usual. I properly replied to this mod as well, no reply = fixed or added in remap.

I'm not too sure about some of the stuff you said, both in whether I should apply, or the complete meaning behind it as I am new to mapping, if it is still unacceptable then hopefully someone with more experience could cover it with a better explanation or suggestion, but I think the fixes I applied are ok.

Edit: So after finding out you did this mod on an old version, I checked the stuff that was in old version I had backed up, and surely enough, they were all there. Light green= Fixed / changed in remap.

Ahhhhhh that makes sense, I did a pretty big remap last night, so a lot of the stuff would've been fixed, some of your stuff still applied though. I have a backup of .osu before I did remap, I'll try and check out if the links apply there and the problems exist / or are worse, but I guess that's why I didn't understand some of the mod, since it already changed >_>

I wont point out everything. I'll give general guidelines and it will be your job to go through the diff and figure out what you want to change or not. Keep in mind I don't want do force you into anything, these are just suggestions.

General stuff:
I'm shit at explaining things so i'll link this p/2908871 read popner's post, it WILL be helpful. There is a lot of times where aesthetics is not consistent in your diff. I'll give a few examples :
-00:09:693 (3,1) - These two sliders are both blanketing 00:10:122 (4) - yet both of them have a different angle and a different sacing with 4.
-00:24:693 (2,3) - another example where 2 and 3 don't have the same curve even though 3 suggests that it completes the shape.
-01:30:265 (4,1) - Same stuff happenning here
-03:14:572 (4,1) - 06:41:889 (1) - etc etc
also I'd avoid to curve things too much in general because unless your pattern is built around these curves the final result usually doesnt look great. A few examples would be 00:36:265 (1) - 01:10:550 (1) - . I know this is really subjective but it's worth pointing out imo.


the second thing where your map feels weird sometimes is spacing. when you make jumps it should be used to create emphasis on either strong breats or strong sounds in the song. here again I'll only give a few examples :
- 00:26:836 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12) - in this jump pattern for example, everything has the same spacing, which is fine, but it would make way more sense to actually emphasise the big kick sounds 00:27:693 (5,6,7,8,10,11,12) - with a larger jump than the rest dont you think?
-00:43:122 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - this is also a great example. here 00:43:122 (1,2,3,4) - have the exact same effect than 00:42:265 (2,3,4) - yet their sacing is probably twice as big. these two on the other hand 00:44:193 (6,7) - have a clap hitsound on them that is not emphasised at all
-01:25:979 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - a bit less obvious maybe. here you can clearly hear that the background noise getting louder yet your spacing is constant and doesn't seem to follow that. also same as before 01:27:050 (6,7) - have a clap sound that isn't emphasized

The map is starting to look quite good, good job on taking the effort to make this huge beatmap :p

One question/remark though: the Best FriendS part is 2 to 3 times as hard as the rest of the map, probably because of the insane spacing (more than 3,0 on some notes) in the patterns and the high(er) bpm. You can see this very clearly by deleting the last part and checking the difference in stars.
Because of this the map basically only revolves around this last part and the first two songs will barely have impact on the pp score apart from the combo they give.

So the question is: is this intentional, or does it add to the meme value? ^^

Also why AR 8.8? I think this is a bit too high (with DT) for most people. Are you trying to keep it accessible without DT too?

Ok, pp <--- that word right there, completely irrelevant in mapping. Mappers don't map to cater to pp values, Tom94 balances pp around maps. If this map inexplicably gave 10000pp, that would be Tom94's problem and fault, and responsibility to fix, not mine. Same with the star count. The spacing does fit the music, in fact, it's the same spacing as Best FriendS by no dap. It's ok for marathons to have harder songs in the end as opposed to the start, just look at Senya Marathon. Tom94 already said he will be nerfing difficulty spike effects, and that will likely be nerfing this.

That's another thing, mapping generally doesn't cater to mods, that's why there are maps that are impossible with HR unless you spin like incognito, even relatively new maps. That said, I'm pretty sure AR8.8 is minimum for this map, even in the earlier two songs it's not too fast because there are a lot of stacks in patterns. AR8.8 is definitely minimum for the Best FriendS portion, maybe even a little low for it. Sure, AR10.2 is too fast to read for most people, but a lot of DT maps are 10.3, if the player can read 10.3, then it's not too fast at all, and if they can't read 10.3, then this map is likely too hard for them anyway (I personally had no trouble passing this, and I can't read higher than AR10). No dap's Best FriendS is actually AR9, so this is slightly lower than that.

No kd for this post, I'll be doing a more extensive mod later, I just first wanted to point out some of the obvious "unrankable" issues with this map. Fixing these early will make the modding process (and my ability to mod) go much smoother.

Marathon

03:46:127 - There should be a red timing section here, to reset the measure and properly align the downbeats. You might want to also go through and readdress your NC job after this; it seems like a lot of NCs were placed with the downbeats in mind, though since your downbeats are wrong your whole NC job seems wrong.


There are some pretty major tonality issues in both the Koigokoro and Daidai sections:

01:39:693 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - These jumps seem overdone for the map as is. Compared to 00:56:836 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - , they are much more intense, but these parts of the music are the same in tone. Same for 01:53:407 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - , etc. If you are going to use jumps this large, you should make the first kiai consistent with this. This is unrankable otherwise, QAT doesn't like difficulty spikes.

And as for the Daidai part, well...
03:32:794 (1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3) - This part of the song is slow, slower than the entirety of Koigokoro, but these jumps are as large as Koigokoro's kiai. I realize Daidai's BPM is lower, so jumps need to be larger to be considered as jumps. But this just seems really overdone, as do all similar slow parts of Daidai.

The kiai section has a key change. Usually this means everything will be made more intense compared to previous verses. I'm not sure if you took this into consideration, maybe I'm just imagining things, but it looks to me like the jumps in the kiai are the same as the jumps in the previous chorus. You may want to consider switching things around so the jumps in the kiai are larger than the rest of the Daidai section.


Oh, and I guess this is a good place to point out that you should add some combo colours :V

Map looks and pays well for the most part, and it's memetastic! Here's a few pointers, though.

General
- A good meme map has a good storyboard. The T A T O E was cool, but didn't feel like it's enough. Consider implementing the current song into the storyboard somehow (for example, highlight the koigokoro BG during the first 3 minutes, daidai BG during the next 3, etc.).
- That T A T O E warrants an epilepsy warning.
- What's with the funky AR and OD? Was AR9/OD8 somehow insufficient? You shouldn't use the fractions just for the sake of it, but if there's an actual gameplay reason than it's fine.
- Unused green timing point at 03:46:127

Koigokoro
- 00:05:407 (1,2) - excessive stacking, consider moving these from under the previous slider.
- 00:28:550 (5,6) - and 00:29:193 (8,1) - unintuitive stacks, breaks the flow of the map.
- 00:30:479 (4,1) - this spacing goes against the flow of the map. I can see how it fits the music, but it compromises playability way too much.
- 01:13:336 (4,1) - same as above.

Daidai Genome
- 03:21:683 (1) - this slider breaks the flow of the map, consider replacing it with just a single note.
- 04:30:571 - this is where the climax of the song starts, and there's a noticeable crescendo in the music. The map doesn't really reflect this change right now. Consider bumping slider velocity up slightly to add emphasis on this part of the song.
- 05:22:126 - same as above.
PP FriendS
- 08:12:626 (2) - don't hide notes under sliders like this.
- 09:40:049 - 09:56:981 - THIS PART IS PERFECT FOR MEME SLIDERS. Make use of these; there's so much cool stuff you could do with some creative slider designs. So much unused meming potential here :o

Consider bumping slider velocity up slightly to add emphasis on this part of the song. The spacing and jumps already increases a lot in comparison, I think the SV should be fine.
- 05:22:126 - same as above.
