How To Remove That... Thing? ><

Okay, I Know most of you won't care but it bugs me out -_-
Here's Some ScreenShots



Okay... Everything's Normal Here, I Open The Song, Then...



Bam! What the Hell? I don't want that preview text! I tried To check in the files but I didn't found anything, I tried to change the artist and song name to check if there would be any changes but it's the same and it won't go Away... Here's a Screen Of The Original File



Then, One of My File



My question is : Is There a Way to remove that text? I tried on Other songs and it worked well, It's the only won't that just don't work

i didn't even read.

No you can't remove it. That data is read off the server, and then displayed at the beginning of the song. Just get used to it.

Hum... Sorry Cyclone But It IS Removable, I Removed it from all my other songs I Downloaded.

so instead of just telling me i'm wrong, why didn't you explain to him how to do it.

I'm quite certain that data is read off the server though. In fact, BAT's have the ability to see that information per song.

...I find it pathetic that I JUST noticed that the TC made two posts in this topic. Oops.

And seriously, TC, the title text isn't that big of a deal. I mean seriously. Not only does messing with the osu file void your warranty, it...well...

...Okay, to put it bluntly: After a while you won't even notice it. So there's no point in removing it. Heck, I even forgot that there was a title text until I saw this thread. >_>; So don't bother.

Heck, no one else knows how to remove it. You're the only one who's claimed to be able to. Seriously. So enlighten us please.

lol i didn't read the users of those posts either, well regardless, i think what you are doing is altering the files so that the information isn't read off the server anymore. Obviously you can't do this for ranked songs and the such and expect your scores to be recorded.

You people are all too sensitive. Though this definitely makes one of the far shots. Of course, as I recall, I'm pretty sure when titles were first implemented, toggles were requested.

Stop being such a sensitive player.

And yes, I pretty much just opened myself to highlight spam when I'm back on and playing again. :P

If you removed it from all the songs you downloaded then you wouldn't be asking how to remove it. That song isn't special.

And yes, it was a tacky change.

If you are a mapper, and don't like the way the title appears in your map, ask a mod to change it, after it has been ranked. The title display text is generated each time a map is submitted to the server, but moderators and BATs can edit the server-side text. There's actually a lot of flexibility in this function so it'd be nice to see people doing something interesting with it.

Now I'm going to lock this thread, because it's a toggle request, and peppy has specified that this is not a feature that will be toggle-able.

Luigi Let Me Post This Tutorial, So Here It Is.



I'll Explain how to do it But Remember, If You change something in the files, the song
WON'T BE PLAYABLE ONLINE OR AFFECT YOUR SCORES!!!

Ok, First, Here's The Osu! Song Folder, I Classed Song That I Can Play Offline, And Song I Can Play Online



Then You Click On a Song's Folder, You Should Get Something Like This :



And On The Game, It Look Like This :



Change The Files Title To Something You Want It To Be (Not Necessary), Open A File, With Notepad



Follow The Next Picture's Instruction... The Title of the Song (MP3) And The Name Of The Background Must Be Identical to What You Write In The Notepad.



For Me, It Gives Something Like This ^^




The Servers Won't Recognize The BeatMap And Won't Show Anything, It Will Display Your Songs The Way You Want Them To Be.

I Did This With Mostly All My Songs Because I Seek For Perfection In The Files And I Was doing The Exact Same Thing With StepMania ^^

I'll Just Try More Stuff To Try To Fix My Problem. This Topic Can now Be Locked.

Ok, now that that's settled I'll lock this up. I'm going to start a thread in the mod lounge to raise awareness about the fact that mods can tweak these, so hopefully there'll be some cooler song-specific ones in the future.
