I'll share my wineskin wrapper's info if that may perhaps help you guys. I've never really had many problems running osu!

Running Yosemite, also worked back in Mavericks.

My only dissatisfaction with this version is that I cannot run osu! in OpenGL mode. I would like to boost my performance (currently 300 fps) so that I have some leeway while streaming (drops to 60 FPS then).

Specs:
Late-2013 MacBook Pro Retina 15"

Also did you tried to turn on "decorate window"
seems like you have "Force XQuartz instead of using built in WineskinX11"
maybe update to latest Xquartz may help ? http://xquartz.macosforge.org/landing/

IMHO osu runs better with DirectX than OpenGL when you have powerful rig.
I haven't been able to achieve any noticeable difference, positive nor negative, from messing around with those settings. I even tried reverting back to Stable.

Something I've finally began to notice, my laptop fan does not turn on whenever I play osu!. In the past (1-2 months ago), back when I could top 450+ FPS with current settings, my fan would always be on when osu! was on. Now my fan never turns on when I am running osu! Is there a way to force more Cpu allocation?

Both osu! and OSX are not optimized for OpenGL. Osx graphics frameworks are just obsolete.
Are you using unlimited fps cap? Try to set higher custom fps limiter in osu user config file.

I'm happy that i get around 120 fps max on my old crappy macbook :) :) . The fps drops are very noticable when there is something else animated/rendered in the background.
Yeah I use a 300 FPS Custom limiter.

So I think I found the solution to the FPS issue. I just ticked on fullscreen mode, then changed the resolution back to that of the normal windowed mode.
Still no fan going off but on Unlimited was pushing 600 FPS in game (double what I got before hand). It is slightly less stable though.

Sorry if this is question already asked, I am running Mavericks and Osu will not show Asian unicode. This terrible for me because I chat with the nice fellas in #japanese. It shows as boxes. Asian unicode is installed on my computer.

I think it has to be installed inside the wineskin wrapper. I dont know how to do it.

But maybe this will work:
1. rightclick osu!.app and click "show package contents"
2. run wineskin.app
3. go to "Advanced" and enter this code into "Custom commands:"

export LC_MESSAGES=ja_JP.UTF-8
Nope, still haven't got it to work yet. I just copy and paste out to read what is said or read chat logs (i have those saved).

Osu! does not run in Retina mode. Since you have a 2880x1800 resolution screen, run osu! in 1440x900 windowed borderless for a full screen experience. If you need better performance, toggle on Fullscreen mode but change the resolution to 1440x900. It allows the Nvidia card to kick in.

My friend is trying to get osu! and she gets this message.

"Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Osu"

"Could not launch a process for the machine "Osu"

Interface: IMachine (480cf695-2d8d-4256-9c7c-cce4184fa048)

I don't have a Mac, I'm just reading off the screenshots she sent me.

Can anyone help?

Is he using Virtualbox? Why not share the image she sent you?
If its virtualbox i cant help.

I think wineskin osu port is already working decent.
Yes, it was Virtualbox, so giving the image would be a waste of time.

What is wineskin?

It is recommended to use the installer (wineskin version, which is provided on first page of this topic) on OS X, using with Vbox is too slow and quite "unplayable".
But maybe the best option is to use with Windows bootcamp.

Well there are two downloads.

http://m1.ppy.sh/osu!.20141010.dmg < Virutalbox

and

http://m2.ppy.sh/osu!.20141010.dmg < Wineskin

Is this correct?

My friend said she couldn't open the second one, that's probably why.

A day of firsts for me. More to the point Osu! refuses to start on OSx 10.8.4 despite waiting the maximum 5 minutes and beyond for X11 to set up. The most detailed description I can give is that it opens, remains open and then nothing happens. It sits in my application bar without any action, plus right click quitting does nothing.

Both are for directly running on Mac. They are the same file.

I recommend against Vbox and something similar like Parallels because it runs Osu! in Retina Mode (hard to get many frames)

This is nonsense. I get ~250fps at 2880x1800 fullscreen on a first-generation Retina Macbook Pro 15" in Parallels.

Everything runs OK in the new osu :) except the keyboard input lag..
It will show in osu about 150ms after I tapped Z/X button..
Running in Yosemite 10.10.1.

The exact same thing happens to me. It's irritating

Try to adjust global osu offset, you can find that in options.
You can also use this: https://osu.ppy.sh/s/4659
The input lag can be solved while the sound of notes will be out of time with music...

using Macbook air mavericks version 1.9.5

Edit mode is not working and freezes at loading screen. I can only exit by force quitting the Osu! application

That happened with me, and the only fix I found for it was to reinstall osu. By that, I mean downloading it again, dumping it on the desktop and then reinstalling all the songs. It's a bother, but it works.

Anyone here have problems with the offset?

I've tried tons of different offsets but I can't get the hitcircles sounds to sync properly with the music and the UR.

Running 10.9 btw.

I've been having issues with keyboard latency for a while now (~200 ms). It's like that even on the built-in laptop keybord. The new wrapper seemed to improve the delay slightly though.
