pretty streamy map, but very fun! if slider shapes are improved then this can definitely be rankable

while its kind of unnoticable if you slow it down, the timing error is definitely noticable, and the bpm at that section has been set to 189.900, which is weird since its very rare theres a decimal in the bpm. the bpm is wrong basically

190BPM make it offbeat when the fade out in the end. 189.9 is fit with the all of finale. :)

- you totally need custom hitsounds, the normal ones do not fit at all
- your last kiai section never ends.
- why "photoshop" is in tags?
- why don't you use those colors that are seen near the flower?

well shit this is a streamy map when most of the notes don't really fit well enough IMO.

Let's first start off with timing. You got the right stuff, but the actual bpm for both Your Best Nightmare and Finale is 190.006. I know it doesn't mean like a whole lot, and I know it says 190 on wiki and other sites, but even decimals can throw off the simplest of timings before the next red line. Forgot the timing, but I'm still damn sure it's 190.006. I'd check really, even if it sounds similar, but I'm just saying.

k let's get into the map incoming lots of nazi modding and small opinions

[General]

You're not very consistent with hitsounding. I'd definitely reccommend sticking with the same rhythm that way noone gets confused and all that jumbled mess. And you're mostly going to want to have put a rhythm on every 3rd beat in each measure (because the beat sounds more 95 bpm than 180 bpm, and you can hear the bass in every 3rd beat). It just feels so... off having to hear spam of claps in random order. I'd definitely fix up the beat. 00:22:760 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) - has a much different clap rhythm than 00:26:628 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - and 00:32:865 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) - , along with... 00:28:760 (6,7,8,9,1,2,3,4,5,6,7) -

Mmhh.. some hitsounds are receiving too much attention or in this case "overhitsounding". For example 00:51:812 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - , these are all freaking finishes. And they're used so damn excessively. Finishes are best used to start or end a combo, or something emphasizing. This is just way too much. It happens quite often too in this map, with the excessive claps in certain parts, not every damn note needs a hitsound.

Some hitsounds just don't seem to fit IMO. For example, I get what you're going at with the claps and all at 01:11:075 (2,3,4,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,1,2,3,4,1,2,1,2,3,4,5) - , they are all consistent, but I feel like they don't fit along with the music. I don't hear and emphasizing beat on 90% of these claps, so maybe no hitsounds on some of them and claps on 2 and 4 might work better for this map. Just giving out my insight on that.

You could also lower some of the hitsounds on some part, like 00:54:338 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,1,2,1,2,3,4,5,1,1,2,1,2,3,4) - , these soft whistles are rather loud.

Why are some soft parts of the song so fast? Some of it just feels overmapped and that's not a good thing

Your beginning has a lot of ugly patterns and just forced streams that I never heard often in the game. But then again.. streams are ok I guess in this situation since it's 2017.

00:22:996 (2) - Silent sound. I'd consider removing and just moving 00:23:075 (3) - in a flowing jump.

00:23:391 (6,7,8,9) - I don't like how these 4 have much larger space than the rest of these patterns later before the first spinner. I'd considering moving 00:23:233 (4,5,6) - somewhere around x178 y286

00:24:654 (1,2,3) - This alone just doesn't play right for whatever reason. 00:24:812 (2) - isn't blanketing 00:24:654 (1) - properly and 00:24:970 (3) - is barely missing the blanket on 00:24:812 (2) - 's sliderhead. Use 1/16th beat snap divisor to get the max potential of a good blanket.

00:26:154 (3) - The fact that these kinds of sliders start on a blue tick, which is really difficult to follow the music. Another example like this is 00:26:628 (1) - . There's more power on red and white ticks, these don't seem to start on blue ticks.

00:26:391 (5) - Fix blanket on 00:26:154 (3) - 's sliderend. Also, it's a downbeat slider, which is usually frowned upon unless done right. Here it's better off with a clickable note where the sliderend is.

00:26:628 (1) - Yeah this doesn't really fit along with the music considering it starts on a blue tick 1/4th beat after the previous beat. Consider avoiding these as it can be disorienting for players trying to follow the flow.

00:27:102 (4) - But you don't use something like this anywhere else except at the end, which really doesn't flow to the music. There's really no point to have an unnecessary jumpspike here. The tempo is the same as anywhere here before the first spinner. I'd remove this note here and make 00:27:181 (5) - two notes instead of a 1/4th slider. That way you can have a tiny stream leading up to 00:27:496 (8) - which flows a lot better than what we have here.

00:27:812 (1) - Fix blanket on 00:27:496 (8) - 's sliderend. (Sorry if I'm being a nazi, it's a habit of mine)

00:28:444 (3,4,5) - Eh, I think it's nice, but I don't think it's in the right place. 00:28:128 (2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,1) - plays rather uncomfortably and could use some minor tweakings. You could try ctrl+g and place them all on x342 y118 (according to 00:28:444 (3) - 's placement) and see if that plays much better. Alternatively, you could make sure 00:28:128 (2,5) - stack onto each other, you can change that in the stack leniency, however I think that's frowned upon on certain situations.

00:28:128 (2) - Fix blanket on 00:27:812 (1) - 's sliderbegin

00:28:760 (6,7,8,9,1) - If you are going to have a stream here, I'd suggest each note having the same spacing equality, it just jumps from .52 to .49 to .55 to .39, which isn't really consistent.

00:29:391 (3,7) - Parallel better.

00:29:391 (3,4,5,6,7) - Holy spread out notes batman. It's fine if the triplet was touching one of them, but it just doesn't play right. They're all so close to each other I think maybe something like this would flow better, assuming you don't change the stream between the two sliders.

Well damn, I did not expect this to be a huge mod, as I was only pointing out what needed polishing and what just didn't flow right. The beginning of Your Best Nightmare doesn't really have the right flow, too streamy and too jumpy at the softer parts. Finale was just a jumbled mess of different flows happening all at once, which just didn't feel right IMO. There were a lot of a blankets, and yes I did go full nazi after seeing so many. But I pointed out about 90% of them. I felt like a nice person for helping you out polishing the map. It's not a bad map, it's definitely got potential, I think you have potential. You just gotta find that sweet spot of flow, and it'll be awesome.

I do apologize heavily if I sounded a little rude in my mod. I wish you best of luck, and here, take a star.

well shit this is a streamy map when most of the notes don't really fit well enough IMO.

Let's first start off with timing. You got the right stuff, but the actual bpm for both Your Best Nightmare and Finale is 190.006. I know it doesn't mean like a whole lot, and I know it says 190 on wiki and other sites, but even decimals can throw off the simplest of timings before the next red line. Forgot the timing, but I'm still damn sure it's 190.006. I'd check really, even if it sounds similar, but I'm just saying. Nope, the timing is preferct, using .006 feels kinda weird.

[General]

You're not very consistent with hitsounding. I'd definitely reccommend sticking with the same rhythm that way noone gets confused and all that jumbled mess. And you're mostly going to want to have put a rhythm on every 3rd beat in each measure (because the beat sounds more 95 bpm than 180 bpm, and you can hear the bass in every 3rd beat). It just feels so... off having to hear spam of claps in random order. I'd definitely fix up the beat. 00:22:760 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) - has a much different clap rhythm than 00:26:628 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - and 00:32:865 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) - , along with... 00:28:760 (6,7,8,9,1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - Hmmph, ok then, try to make some "pattern" for hitsounds in some part.

Mmhh.. some hitsounds are receiving too much attention or in this case "overhitsounding". For example 00:51:812 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - , these are all freaking finishes. And they're used so damn excessively. Finishes are best used to start or end a combo, or something emphasizing. This is just way too much. It happens quite often too in this map, with the excessive claps in certain parts, not every damn note needs a hitsound. Ok then, i was using any custom hitsound with a bit low effect volume, so ididn't really notice this.

Some hitsounds just don't seem to fit IMO. For example, I get what you're going at with the claps and all at 01:11:075 (2,3,4,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,1,2,3,4,1,2,1,2,3,4,5) - , they are all consistent, but I feel like they don't fit along with the music. I don't hear and emphasizing beat on 90% of these claps, so maybe no hitsounds on some of them and claps on 2 and 4 might work better for this map. Just giving out my insight on that. It's pretty good thrpugh, but still have add some extra at 1/1 so it doesn't feel kinda no hitsound.

You could also lower some of the hitsounds on some part, like 00:54:338 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,1,2,1,2,3,4,5,1,1,2,1,2,3,4) - , these soft whistles are rather loud. Set it as 40%

Why are some soft parts of the song so fast? Some of it just feels overmapped and that's not a good thing Are you trying to point 00:59:391 - ? ok, i'll convert some slider so it looks easier

I start hearing some real streams at 05:21:926 - I think slider is more comfortable for this time, since it is using wavy sound so, i prefer slider instead of stream..

Here it's better off with a clickable note where the sliderend is. Blanketed, but do some modification due to your last mod, which makes me to convert that slider to 1/2

00:26:628 (1) - Yeah this doesn't really fit along with the music considering it starts on a blue tick 1/4th beat after the previous beat. Consider avoiding these as it can be disorienting for players trying to follow the flow. Due to your last mod too, this is note is now kinda fit with the music.

00:27:102 (4) - But you don't use something like this anywhere else except at the end, which really doesn't flow to the music. There's really no point to have an unnecessary jumpspike here. The tempo is the same as anywhere here before the first spinner. I'd remove this note here and make 00:27:181 (5) - two notes instead of a 1/4th slider. That way you can have a tiny stream leading up to 00:27:496 (8) - which flows a lot better than what we have here. Follow the mod, but some slight own modification..

Well damn, I did not expect this to be a huge mod, as I was only pointing out what needed polishing and what just didn't flow right. The beginning of Your Best Nightmare doesn't really have the right flow, too streamy and too jumpy at the softer parts. Finale was just a jumbled mess of different flows happening all at once, which just didn't feel right IMO. There were a lot of a blankets, and yes I did go full nazi after seeing so many. But I pointed out about 90% of them. I felt like a nice person for helping you out polishing the map. It's not a bad map, it's definitely got potential, I think you have potential. You just gotta find that sweet spot of flow, and it'll be awesome. Yeah, i think i should rather remap some part at Your Best Nightmare, and about the Finale, it's not that what you think, especially the last kiai, the songs really get soo intense, so that's why I make the last kiai pretty intense, but still, i changed some part that really makes the diff jump.

Before you read my mod, I will point out mainly things you should clean up in the map. The major changes will be written at the heading of the mod.
I understand sometimes you over-map to emphasize notes, but I will point out the ones where it is inappropriate.
You also need to repeat concepts. By concepts, I mean the order, and spacing of objects if the music repeats. This song is full of repeated sections, so this is very relevant to your song.
You also sometimes have good flow. This can trick the player, as a sudden high quality bit of flow, may trick the player into thinking the part after also follows this flow. Either make sure you never have any rotational flow (It's actually called circular flow, but I will call it rotational because it is not always circles.), or remap some bits to accommodate this.
I am putting too much effort for 1 kudosu XD.

  2. 01:03:181 (1) - The note doesn't end where the slider ends, so the slider end seems out of place.
  3. 01:07:286 (7,8) - The sliders are too long to be recognized as 1/4th sliders.
  4. 01:09:023 (4,5,6,7) - These should be either both triple stacks, or a single circle, as the sounds 01:08:865 and 01:09:181 are the same. Listen at 50% speed and without the circles.
  5. 01:20:549 (7,8,9) - This triple is not spaced correctly.

Like the First Soul fight, the sliders and spacing are too fast for this section.
  1. 01:10:760 - 01:15:812 - This part of the section is just the same 4 parts repeating, with a higher set for the second half. The order and type of objects should stay constant, and only the spacing should change to highlight the raising of the melody.

  4. 01:17:549 (2,4,6) - These objects do not have any notes underneath it.

Not much is wrong gameplaywise, but I don't know if the weird angles you need to jump with are intentional.
  1. 01:27:181 - 01:37:286 - This part is just 01:27:181 - 01:29:707 repeated 4 times, so the 4 times it repeats, have similar circles representing these parts. Choose your favorite part, and just rearrange the parts to your hearts content. If you are going to do this, change the slider shapes to distinguish between chunks.
  2. 01:37:286 - 01:47:391 - To an extent, this section also has it repeating 4 times, but with extra strained notes, raising the intensity. This should closely match the earlier part, but with greater spacing, or with say a triple starting the repeated chunk.
Third Soul 01:56:233 - 02:11:391
Have repeated sections be mapped similarly to reflect music.
  1. 02:02:075 (3,3) - These circles are not mapped to any notes. Maybe extend the slider for the snider end to be where they are right now.
  2. 02:10:128 (5,6) - Jumping 90 degrees between slow sliders is really awkward. Rotate slider (6) so the exit of (5) lines up with it's entry.
  3. 02:11:312 (7) - This circle seems out of place, due to there being no sound under it, and the fact it is placed so suddenly for the slow section.
Fourth Soul 02:12:654 - 02:27:812
This section has 02:12:654 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,1,2,3,4,5,6,7) , which is your exemplar of how to do similar pattern, with variation to give flow, and to maintain readability. This section as a whole is pretty good, apart from:
  1. 02:16:917 (3,4) - This overlap raises the difficulty in a part of a song where nothing is happening.
Third Flowey section 02:29:075 - 02:54:338
The whole section has fast sliders with slow jumps. This means you have to constantly and randomly speed up and slow down.
  1. 02:30:023 (7,8,9,10) - 02:32:549 (6,7,8,9) - 02:33:812 (5,6) - These 3 represent the same sounds, even though they are all different.
  2. 02:38:707 (10) - The stream hides this circle from view, making it hard to read.
  3. 02:49:286 (1) - The last note starts here, so shouldn't the spinner start here instead of a circle delaying it?
  4. 02:49:286 (1) - 02:54:338 - Maybe you can cut out this bit by editing the sound file, but this is difficult to do. I don't have anyone to point to so if you can't do it, ignore this point.
Fifth Soul 02:55:602 - 03:10:760
This was alot blander than the other soul fights. By bland, I meant it felt too easy to play compared to the other soul bits. This may be because the other soul sections are too hard, or this section is too easy.
  1. 03:00:654 (1,2) , 03:01:917 (1,2) , 03:02:549 (4,5) and so many more! Please make the slider tails silent, or have the end where the beat it, because it is making this weird double click where it should not have one.
Sixth Soul 03:12:023 - 03:27:181
Same problem as the Fifth soul section. I think having these sections easy is better, as it is supposed to be a moment's relief between the flowey sections, where the real fight is happening.
  1. 03:12:023 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2) - This is way too intense for this section. Compare it with 03:48:023 (3,4) and 01:49:602 (6,7) , both examples of way more intense sounds being represented by way smaller jumps. Just make the gaps smaller.
  2. 03:20:865 (1,2) - The timing where the reverse should represent is on the white tick, which the reverse arrow plays on the blue tick before it. Just end the slider on the white tick, as a reverse would be inappropriate at representing a long then a short sound.
Fourth Flowey section 03:28:444 - 03:58:760
[list][*]03:33:181 (9,10) - These sliders should be replaced with a stream entry into the slider, starting on where slider (9) starts. This is to match the music, if you listen under 25%, and to match the rest of the section.

This whole section is alot less intense than the First Flowey Section, so the whole thing should be alot slower than it. The inheriting point at 00:59:391 makes the sliders 1.5 faster than the First Flowey Section, which makes no sense. I know, but that doesn't mean that I can do some jumps, and some 1/4 slider, for the 1.5 SV, i would make the jump consistent with the SV, so the player won't confused
  1. 00:57:812 (7,8,9) and 00:59:075 (6,7) - They both have the same sound, so should be mapped as the same. Read above
  2. 01:03:181 (1) - The note doesn't end where the slider ends, so the slider end seems out of place. The slider end has a sound, lol, and didn't out of place.
  3. 01:07:286 (7,8) - The sliders are too long to be recognized as 1/4th sliders. Converted to circle
  4. 01:09:023 (4,5,6,7) - These should be either both triple stacks, or a single circle, as the sounds 01:08:865 and 01:09:181 are the same. Listen at 50% speed and without the circles. I don't think so, the original one feels better.
  5. 01:20:549 (7,8,9) - This triple is not spaced correctly. It's fine
Second Soul 01:10:760 - 01:25:917
Like the First Soul fight, the sliders and spacing are too fast for this section. see above
  1. 01:10:760 - 01:15:812 - This part of the section is just the same 4 parts repeating, with a higher set for the second half. The order and type of objects should stay constant, and only the spacing should change to highlight the raising of the melody.
  2. 01:14:154 (2) - This has no note underneath it. What do you mean? if you think there is no sound about this note, you're wrong
  3. 01:15:260 (2) - This has no note underneath it. ^
  4. 01:17:549 (2,4,6) - These objects do not have any notes underneath it. ^
  5. 01:19:917 (2,3,4) - These notes do not have notes underneath. For circle (2), which is the ending of the long note following 01:19:602 (1) , just end the slider on that note. ^ and that feels weird
  6. 01:21:496 (5,6) - These notes should not be sliders, as this part of the song is too slow to support them. It's strong enough for this sliders
  7. 01:22:128 (1,2) - These are the same sound as the previous objects, so should receive the same treatment as the others. ^
  8. 01:22:760 (4) - This slider needs to bend as it opposes the direction of rotation. The direction 01:21:496 (5,6,7,8,1,2,3) made. As I said above, i don't want to make this pretty "pattern-ish" that would make the flow really bad
  9. 01:23:865 (3) - This slider needs to bend to change the direction of rotation. The direction 01:23:391 (1,2) made. ^
Second Flowey section 01:27:181 - 01:54:970
Not much is wrong gameplaywise, but I don't know if the weird angles you need to jump with are intentional.
  1. 01:27:181 - 01:37:286 - This part is just 01:27:181 - 01:29:707 repeated 4 times, so the 4 times it repeats, have similar circles representing these parts. Choose your favorite part, and just rearrange the parts to your hearts content. If you are going to do this, change the slider shapes to distinguish between chunks.
  2. 01:37:286 - 01:47:391 - To an extent, this section also has it repeating 4 times, but with extra strained notes, raising the intensity. This should closely match the earlier part, but with greater spacing, or with say a triple starting the repeated chunk.

Third Soul 01:56:233 - 02:11:391
Have repeated sections be mapped similarly to reflect music.
  1. 02:02:075 (3,3) - These circles are not mapped to any notes. Maybe extend the slider for the snider end to be where they are right now. Drum sound .-.
  2. 02:10:128 (5,6) - Jumping 90 degrees between slow sliders is really awkward. Rotate slider (6) so the exit of (5) lines up with it's entry. Technically, it's not really a jump, it is not really that long jump, player still can reach it easily
  3. 02:11:312 (7) - This circle seems out of place, due to there being no sound under it, and the fact it is placed so suddenly for the slow section. Removed
Fourth Soul 02:12:654 - 02:27:812
This section has 02:12:654 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,1,2,3,4,5,6,7) , which is your exemplar of how to do similar pattern, with variation to give flow, and to maintain readability. This section as a whole is pretty good, apart from:
  1. 02:16:917 (3,4) - This overlap raises the difficulty in a part of a song where nothing is happening. CTRL+G ed
Third Flowey section 02:29:075 - 02:54:338
The whole section has fast sliders with slow jumps. This means you have to constantly and randomly speed up and slow down.
  1. 02:30:023 (7,8,9,10) - 02:32:549 (6,7,8,9) - 02:33:812 (5,6) - These 3 represent the same sounds, even though they are all different. See above
  2. 02:38:707 (10) - The stream hides this circle from view, making it hard to read. Moved
  3. 02:49:286 (1) - The last note starts here, so shouldn't the spinner start here instead of a circle delaying it? k
  4. 02:49:286 (1) - 02:54:338 - Maybe you can cut out this bit by editing the sound file, but this is difficult to do. I don't have anyone to point to so if you can't do it, ignore this point. didn't get it, ignored.
Fifth Soul 02:55:602 - 03:10:760
This was alot blander than the other soul fights. By bland, I meant it felt too easy to play compared to the other soul bits. This may be because the other soul sections are too hard, or this section is too easy.
  1. 03:00:654 (1,2) , 03:01:917 (1,2) , 03:02:549 (4,5) and so many more! Please make the slider tails silent, or have the end where the beat it, because it is making this weird double click where it should not have one. Hmmph, maybe no, all of them have the sounds and double clicking it becouse of the sound, too.
Sixth Soul 03:12:023 - 03:27:181
Same problem as the Fifth soul section. I think having these sections easy is better, as it is supposed to be a moment's relief between the flowey sections, where the real fight is happening.
  1. 03:12:023 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2) - This is way too intense for this section. Compare it with 03:48:023 (3,4) and 01:49:602 (6,7) , both examples of way more intense sounds being represented by way smaller jumps. Just make the gaps smaller. I ain't Monstrata, but about this, i think its fine (through the diff spike is at this section)
  2. 03:20:865 (1,2) - The timing where the reverse should represent is on the white tick, which the reverse arrow plays on the blue tick before it. Just end the slider on the white tick, as a reverse would be inappropriate at representing a long then a short sound. Feels weird
Fourth Flowey section 03:28:444 - 03:58:760
[list][*]03:33:181 (9,10) - These sliders should be replaced with a stream entry into the slider, starting on where slider (9) starts. This is to match the music, if you listen under 25%, and to match the rest of the section. It should be fine, if other people have the same opinion, i'll change it
[*]03:35:707 (5,6) - Same issue as above /\ ^
[*]03:43:917 (3) - This sudden snap is inappropriate, as the next snap you have to make is 100 degrees, which is really weird to make. nope, looks fine
[*]03:52:760 (3,4,5) - This is placed in such a weird angle. To achive the effect I think you are going for, move 03:52:602 (2) further down and the triple stream further up to have the angles better fit. 03:52:602 (2) - put this lower.


I am not modding the next section as my eyes are hurting too much from the screen brightness. Maybe add a more creative background? nah, keep it black, as the game is.
