@jeri: I meant that the song (overall) doesn't seem to follow a consistent 1/3 or 1/6 beat, but rather switches between 1/2 and 1/3. I know how 1/6th works, but don't forget that there are extra ticks for sextuplets. In the below example, green ticks are 1/3 (recolored since the purple is hard to see), and yellow ones are the sextuplets from 1/6:
Anyway, this map has been neglected long enough, so let me take another look at it...
[General]*I think the SB'd fadeout at the end would look better starting a measure earlier.
*01:45:925 - Why doesn't ground.jpg scale?
*03:02:725 - Why doesn't sky.jpg scale?
*Last kiai section should start at 02:36:667 on all diffs.
*
I can't put my finger on it, but the beginning of the song (daaa-da da-da) still sounds off. It feels like it should be on 1/3 ticks, but anything I try sounds wrong... Actually wait, I know what it is (see my mod for Hard).
*I like your hitsound patterns, but they sound strange for some reason. Try using a soft-hitclap instead of the normal one:
http://puu.sh/JKM[Easy]*Distance spacing is a bit high, and is only offset by the unmapped gaps in the song. For example, I'd like to see more than two notes at 00:47:640 (1,2). Then, I see a big gap at after 00:56:210 (5), and boring single notes at 00:57:925 (1,2,3). You don't have to use spaced out circles to make a map easy (and compromise fun/excitement at that). Definitely try using more sliders throughout this diff.
*Maybe raise AR a tick.
00:32:782 (5) - move back to the red tick
01:05:125 (5) - sounds fine, but expected it to end on the white tick.
01:26:725 (4) - extend to the 1/3 purple tick
01:34:954 (3) - ^
[Normal]*Diff settings are a big jump from Easy. I'd lower Drain/OD a tick each (or maybe even two for Drain).
00:26:953 (4,5) - Perhaps make this a slider since the 1/3 note will be unexpected.
00:31:868 (4) - shorten 1/3
00:32:382 (5) - move to the next 1/3 tick
00:34:954 (3,4) - perhaps make this a slider
00:39:068 (1) - shorten 1/3
00:50:724 (4) - ^
00:51:238 (5) - move to the next 1/3 tick
01:03:640 (2) - should be extended to the 1/3 tick, but that makes the next note really sudden. Perhaps just extend this to the white tick?
01:05:297 (6) - move to the next 1/3
01:05:640 (7) - ^
01:09:582 (3) - shorten 1/3
01:10:782 (6) - next 1/3
01:12:153 (3) - ^
01:28:325 (1,2) - same as 1:03
01:32:725 (5) - next 1/3
01:39:582 (2,3) - again, (2) should be on the next 1/3, but having two single 1/3 notes in a row on a normal is too difficult
01:51:067 (4) - shorten 1/3
01:51:581 (5) - next 1/3
02:03:982 (2,3) - same as 1:03
02:05:639 (7) - next 1/3
02:05:982 (8) - ^
*Stopped here since I noticed that the chorus was copy pasted, and you can use the same suggestions for it and the last chorus. (02:25:696 - 02:36:667 is fine.)
*Again, I see some unmapped gaps (like in Easy) and less sliders than could be intuitively used.
[Hard]*OD is a bit low; try a tick higher.
*Figured out why the beginning sounds weird on all diffs. It should be like
this, so please adjust nicely for each diff. The first slider of each measure was throwing me off, but now it sounds much better.
00:26:210 (3) - move to the next 1/3
00:26:896 (6) - ^ and shorten
00:28:267 (2) - next 1/3
00:31:867 (4) - shorten 1/3
00:32:382 (5) - next 1/3
00:33:753 (2) - ^
00:35:125 (6) - ^
00:37:696 (7) - should be on the previous 1/3, but sounds fine here too
00:38:896 (1) - next 1/3
00:39:239 (3) - ^
00:49:524 (1) - ^
00:50:896 (4) - ^
00:51:239 (5) - ^ and shorten
01:00:153 (1) - next 1/3
01:03:582 (2) - ^
01:05:296 (6) - ^
01:05:639 (7) - ^
01:08:724 (1) - ^
01:09:753 (4) - ^
01:10:782 (6) - ^
01:11:124 (1) - ^
01:12:153 (5) - ^
*Phew... and repeat for the second verse and two choruses. I'd also like to see usage of 1/3 in the bridge before the last chorus, but that's up to you.
Overall, I think that this mapset could use a bit more work. It's lacking in a bit of substance, and I'd hate to see it ranked just because it's "rankable". Good luck!
EDIT: No wonder this sounds so off. Timing is definitely late, and it feels like the beginning is even worse. I get offsets 280 and 24,990 (same bpm), so try those. I'll test again later when hard is properly fixed and I can play the whole thing.
