Not sure if Zao is a good collab name tbh, back then when I collabed with Lust and we called it Lao it turned it to be rather confusing. People actually thought that Lao was a mapper >_>

I am going to explicitly assume that bad blankets are bad on purpose, but just in case i'm going to point out the ones that are completely blatant even to me (in that they're very close in time to where you actively see the approach circle fail to align with the slider, i'm skipping the ones that aren't directly visibly off) in glorious muave. even those will only be ones that are clearly supposed to be blankets, you've got plenty of could-be-blankets-but-are-obviously-not and ima skip those. The map has a nice aesthetic in that it's clearly following a rule that inherently doesn't feel right, and that's the purpose of the track, so THEMATICALLY I APPROVE

Insane
  1. 00:13:138 (4,1) - bezier or no these are pretty visibly off u should be able to fix it with another grey node np
  2. 00:17:263 (2) - move tad to the left for evenness
  3. 00:19:138 (3,4) - gloriously off-blanket
  4. 00:42:388 (1) - honestly it's close enough but maybe perfection is warranted
  5. 01:06:013 (7,8) - the rest of the combo has the pairs have completely different orientations but this is really similar to 5,6 and it feels like an oversight rather than intentional
  6. 01:19:138 (1,2,3) - i feel like this movement really captures the vocals but 01:18:388 (1,2,3) - is a completely different movement pattern and 01:19:888 (1,2,3,4) - is just four circles. The final beat is great, of course, but the variance in these three when the vocals are making a nice cascade feels like a missed opportunity
  7. 01:59:638 (5) - feels unnecessary
  8. 03:26:638 (4,5,6,7) - what is this near-perfect square doing here it ruins the aesthetic *snobs*
  9. 03:35:263 (3,8) - weird, seemingly unintentional overlap, i'm so useful this mod revolves around finding this overlap pls kd
  10. 03:42:388 (1,2,3,1,2,3) - see at 1:19 you don't do this but here u do it works goo
  11. 03:43:888 (1,2,3,4) - likewise as before i feel like using the note-note-slider combo to follow the vocalist is more fitting than having clicks on the background drums but it's personal preference tbh

Harder
  1. 00:21:950 (3) - feels a bit too intense for this area, maybe move a tad up and to the left (towards the center of 00:22:700 (1) - 's curve) could be better?
  2. 00:45:388 (1,3) - yay i get to use muave here
  3. 01:18:388 (1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3) - see commentary re: this section on insane, i feel like the vocals completely dominate this section due to their cascade, it feels best to cascade along with her
  4. 01:59:638 (4) - same as in insane, feels unnecessary
  5. 02:19:513 (4) - move up-right diagonally a tad to more evenly space out the pattern?
  6. 03:27:388 (1,2) - wheeeeeeee
  7. 03:37:138 (3,1) - hoyl
  8. 03:39:013 (6) - move evenly between 4 and 5 for pattern neatness
  9. 03:42:388 (1,2,3,1,2,3) - you know the drill, it's your choice, this is just my feelings

Zao's Hard
  1. 00:23:263 (2,3) - you should keep your 3/4->1/2 slider patterns consistently spaced just for thematic reasons, which you totally do, except for this one. in other words "psuedo-stack" these more. There are some later that are also not quite as stacked as they feel like they should be.

tbh i made this set because i find overly neat patterning boring

i attempted fixing the blankets
idk if for some i made it worse but i attempted (it's difficult to adjust that stuff with bezier only concept besides most of them are less off now)
the only point where i disagreed a bit is
"01:19:888 (1,2,3,4) - is just four circles." as i feel that following the drums here is a way more interesting way to express what's happening. I agree that a lot of movement on them would be dumb but that's why they're stacked to begin with. i think not being required to move for this doubleclick does the job of highlighting that that main focus is vocals there

(same for harder)
i think i addressed the rest the way you mentioned it

[Insane]
00:06:950 (2) - This is mapped to something barely audible compared to the slider tail right before. I recommend either deleting it or changing 00:06:388 (1) - to a circle and starting a 1/2 slider on 00:06:763 instead. Unfortunately that doesn't represent the synth or whatever..
00:12:013 (1) - I feel as if it'd make more sense to use a circle on 00:12:200 - instead, for a better lead in to the rhythm you start following. But at the very least, I don't think this was intended to be NC'd.
01:04:888 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - Seems like this kind of overkill compared to the overall intensity of this section, probably due to the visual spacing compared to 01:07:888 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) for similar sounds. I'd just make the visual spacing more consistent between these (I'd prefer if you kept this pattern though).
01:07:888 (1,2) - Can't say I understand the purpose of this stack, since most of your stacks have been 1/1 and the note under this doesn't seem particularly subdued, nor does 01:08:263 (3) deserve the emphasis that this causes.
03:23:450 (4,5) - Pretty big jump but I can't tell what's supporting it, since there aren't strong drums like there were on 03:23:263 (3,4).
[Harder]
+1 for diffname (though I thought people would call these Light Insanes).
00:04:888 (4) - I suggest shortening this and adding a circle on 00:05:638 given it's strength. An alternative would be changing the entry direction of this repeat to be consistent with 00:10:888 (5) and how the repeat/tail are emphasized.
00:37:513 (2,3) - I'd increase spacing here to be consistent with your emphasis on these sounds, similar to 00:40:513 (3,4).
00:43:513 (2,3) - As above.
02:57:388 (1) - This vocal should start on 02:57:294, but I don't know how you would deal with that 3/4 gap otherwise.
[General Zhao's Hard]
00:24:013 (4) - You could extend this repeat to the blue tick, since there is an audible beat in, and it'd add some more emphasis on 00:24:388 (1). Only mentioning this because of 00:18:013 (4).
02:27:013 (1,2) - It doesn't seem like this broken flow expresses anything in particular, so I'd suggest fixing this by moving 2 in the direction of 1's slider tail.
03:43:700 (3) - Since you didn't map 03:42:950, it would make sense to leave this out despite being stronger, due to the emphasis it puts on the vocals here.
03:58:888 (1,2,3,4,5) - Pretty big diff spike that ignores the vocals you were emphasizing a measure earlier. I suggest changing 03:59:450 (3,4,5) - to a 1/2 repeat.
04:09:856 (1) - There's no individual held sound that warrants this spinner, so I'm not sure why it's here.
[Easy]
00:47:638 (3,1) - I wasn't aware 1/2 gaps were allowed in an Easy.
03:05:638 (3,4,5,6) - This looks pretty confusing to read for newer players due to the even visual spacing here. I'd spread these circles around more.

I looked at the normal too but I couldn't find anything worth mentioning.
