Thank you Railey for typing it out in such a detailed manner. I am sure if the commentators take these points seriously, it will improve the commentating a lot.
And even if finding out things about players and maps can be reasearch-heavy, thats exactly what a colour caster should be doing; And with people like Doomsday, who already know many maps naturally, it shouldnt be too difficult. It is rather the question of allowing it or not - But then again, a healthy balance should be found, and as Loctav (or was it Loctav?) stated it, the commentating should be newbie friendly for the most part. But then again, there sometimes is a sudden moment of silence for a minute where teams are deciding which map to pick, where discussion like that would be very welcome in my opinion.
Regarding the interactivity with the participants and audience, well - it was difficult for the majority of the matches due to a very crammed schedule in which one game followed the next one. But now with the knockout-stages, i would indeed welcome pre or postgame interviews a lot. Same goes for interacting with the audience naturally, now that there is time between two matches.
But that should not sound critical at all. As many people have already stated, the commentating has improved greatly over the course of the tournament! I am looking forward to the upcoming matches
Good luck everyone that is participating for the upcoming rounds!
