00:09:201 (6) - Perhaps you could unstack for the melody change? :arrow:okay.
00:11:848 (1) - ^ :arrow:Nah its not a mmelody change. Im mapping that instrument (steel drum?).
00:23:907 (2) - ^ :arrow:ok
00:58:907 (1) - ^ :arrow:Not here; see above.
00:16:554 (1,2) - Convert into notes, would follow the (idk what the instrument is called) better. :arrow:Good idea.
00:44:789 (3) - Flute sound starts on blue tick :arrow:Did something elseee
01:21:701 (5,6) - This rhythm captures the song better https://puu.sh/v7okt/90631ea568.jpg :arrow:Okay.
01:31:995 (1) - Spinner is unsnapped :arrow:u right

Normal
00:02:180 - Missing beat :arrow:I disagree. I'm mapping the drums and I need to be simple because it's a normal.
00:13:907 - ^
00:49:201 - ^
01:00:966 - ^
01:04:495 - ^
01:32:142 (1) - Spinner is unsnapped :arrow:u right

Cool diff, but would be nice if important sounds got mapped. :arrow:I think I covered that >:D

Looks good. Good job!

heyhey :) (M4M https://osu.ppy.sh/s/562788)

here are my suggestions for your map:

General:
that timing before the offset reset isnt 100% clean normally u dont do offsetresets within a beat. If you put Nightcore on it sounds a bit off^^
maybe u add a third difficult.

Sea Bass

Spinner still not snapped :P

00:03:613 (3,1) - make them parallel
00:37:142 (3) - this repeat is on an wrong tick and sounds wrong
00:41:260 (3,4) - blanket
01:17:731 (1,2) - ^

Shark

spinner not snapped too

00:08:319 (4) - that slider end should be a circle or sliderstart, that steeldrum is rly loud and should be clicked
00:13:613 (4) - ^
00:34:201 (4,5) - maybe make them straight
00:39:789 (6,1) - there is nothing special in the music i wouldnt do a jump there
00:42:436 (1) - maybe u do sth with that slider infact that flute is so loud and significant a straight slider doesnt reflect that in my opinion.
01:29:348 (1) - ^
01:08:025 (5,1) - blanket

well thats anything i would complain about.
good luck :D

I'm like 90% sure that these difficulty names aren't rankable, unfortunately. I don't think they are very clear indicators of the difficulty levels.

Polka doing this is unrankable, just remove the green line here on both difficulties and change the uninherited point to trigger the kiai flash instead. Ye o3o
-Actually, I think you may want to double check your timing. Everything feels late, and it was hard to get good accuracy even in the Sea Bass difficulty.

[Shark]
01:04:201 (2,3) - It's rather odd that these are circles and 01:03:613 (1) - is a slider when the sounds for both are exactly the same. This is especially so when the circles are stacked, taking away the movement element the slider had..
00:37:731 (1,2) - 01:10:672 (1,2) - Maybe consider switching the NCs on these, to help indicate that it's switching to following the wind instrument.

I didn't really find anything to mention, so you know what...

  1. Why 1/16 beat snap divisor?

[Minnow]
  1. last spinner is not snapped
  2. 00:33:025 make it face towards south west.

  1. 00:18:907 (2,3,4) move back one tick

I had difficulty finding mistakes so it is okay if you do not do a very detailed mod because I did not point out that much.

Hi m4m :)
You have 2 objects mismatched with tempo (ctrl + shift + a).
00:02:437 - delete this kiai, i mean its completly unnecessary over here just for one slider which doesnt even follow any changes in music (same with 00:11:848 00:49:469 00:58:880 )
00:02:437 (1) - Id use clap and finish here toghether,
00:14:201 (1,2,3,4,5) - this pattern stands out from others, weird flow change between sliders, not a big deal but Id consider changing it,
00:42:436 (1,2,3,4,5) - im not sure why did you started emphasizing bassline when you follow the rythm of flute and piano in whole map, its really weird
00:57:557 (3,4) - fix spacing here its bigger than it should be according to distance snap
01:29:321 (1) - you havent used slider shapes like that in map, you should stick to this (also its kinda ugly?)
ctrl + shift + a again, fix the spinner
00:37:142 (3) - can be confusing rythym for a beginner playing easy maps, I think it isnt a big problem (sry Im shit at Easy-Normal mapping and modding) but i wouldnt use this in easy
For me it's really well mapped :)

Good luck :)

Hey, M4M as promised.

General

  1. I re-downloaded the map a few times and it looks like soft-hitclap is unused and the sample set in the map is drums.
  2. I'd suggest that you add a whole set of hitsounds if you're going to use the drum set since many skins use quite heavy hitsounds for their drums, it feels very unfitting overall.
  3. 01:32:115 (1) - This spinner's end is unsnapped in both difficulties (MA and AiMod)

Minnow

  1. 00:33:025 (4) - Change the clap to after the repeat, at the moment it sounds too sudden to add a significant hitsound.
  2. 00:57:704 (5) - Change the clap to after the repeat on this to fit with 00:34:201 (5) - since they're the same thing.
  3. 01:05:645 (3,4) - I think you should unstack these to give a little more emphasis to the key change and to emphasize the clap. You did it at 01:07:998 (6,1) - too and at some other places later on.

Shark

idk why but this diff name sounds a bit sinister lol
  1. 00:16:260 (6) - It looks weird to have the flow change sharper randomly at a place where the beat isn't really significant.
  2. 00:49:468 (2) - Shouldn't the NC be here? You did it before at 00:02:180 (7,1) -
  3. 00:43:907 (2,3) - The placement here could be better, this is the only slider in the map that has this sharp of a flow. Also, 00:45:672 (4,5) - is the same yet the flow is smooth.
  4. 00:49:201 (1) - Remove clap

Nice simple map, good luck Also couldn't find many things wrong

It's not meant to make that slider stand out; It's just a flash.
00:02:437 (1) - Id use clap and finish here toghether, :arrow:I don't like how that sounds :( sorry.
00:14:201 (1,2,3,4,5) - this pattern stands out from others, weird flow change between sliders, not a big deal but Id consider changing it, :arrow:It's just a little bit of symmetry. That shouldn't be hard for my target audience to play.
00:42:436 (1,2,3,4,5) - im not sure why did you started emphasizing bassline when you follow the rythm of flute and piano in whole map, its really weird :arrow:There was nothing else to map after that flute had its jazzy solo. So I just filled it with the only rhythm left to map.
00:57:557 (3,4) - fix spacing here its bigger than it should be according to distance snap :arrow:It actually should have been closer according to distance snap, but adjusted nonetheless.
01:29:321 (1) - you havent used slider shapes like that in map, you should stick to this (also its kinda ugly?) :arrow:excuse u i think that slider is beautiful on the inside. In all seriousness though, this slider is fine imo it's nothing wickedly outlandish.
ctrl + shift + a again, fix the spinner :arrow:grr u rite
00:37:142 (3) - can be confusing rythym for a beginner playing easy maps, I think it isnt a big problem (sry Im shit at Easy-Normal mapping and modding) but i wouldnt use this in easy :arrow:Well this is a normal mode, which should include introductory 1/2 patterns, therefor, I think this is alright :)

Thanks a lot! I'll get to your map! Sorry for the delay!

  2. I'd suggest that you add a whole set of hitsounds if you're going to use the drum set since many skins use quite heavy hitsounds for their drums, it feels very unfitting overall. :arrow:I disagree. It's not really up to me to accomodate the use of skin samples, simply my personal sample chouce for the skin I use to map (the default skin)
  3. 01:32:115 (1) - This spinner's end is unsnapped in both difficulties (MA and AiMod) :arrow:Fxied.

Minnow

  1. 00:33:025 (4) - Change the clap to after the repeat, at the moment it sounds too sudden to add a significant hitsound.
  2. 00:57:704 (5) - Change the clap to after the repeat on this to fit with 00:34:201 (5) - since they're the same thing. :arrow:The use of drum claps and finishes was not to hitsound the flute or steel drum, rather the bass chords in the back. As the bass gets lower, I use a finish sound, and as it gets higher, I use a clap sound, and I'm going to keep it that way. Sorry for the confusion!
  3. 01:05:645 (3,4) - I think you should unstack these to give a little more emphasis to the key change and to emphasize the clap. You did it at 01:07:998 (6,1) - too and at some other places later on. :arrow:I see what you're saying, but I'm going to keep this because I think of the noise that the circle and slider are both mapping not as two different sections, rather a section within themselves, if that makes any sense. Hence the stack.

Shark

idk why but this diff name sounds a bit sinister lol :arrow:Sorry! I titled them after fish, because you can catch sharks and other tropical fish on the island in this game that you can't find anywhere else.
  1. 00:16:260 (6) - It looks weird to have the flow change sharper randomly at a place where the beat isn't really significant. :arrow:I disagree, it's where the steel drum picks back up.
  2. 00:49:468 (2) - Shouldn't the NC be here? You did it before at 00:02:180 (7,1) - :arrow:Yes it should thanks.

  4. 00:49:201 (1) - Remove clap :arrow:Sorry but there is a bass chord there.

Nice simple map, good luck Also couldn't find many things wrong
Thank you very much! That was the goal. Also, no worries. You did good! 8-)

Alrighty! Time to look for a nominator :D Thanks everyone!
ezek
How did you find a nominator so fast? :v

[General]
  1. I'm suspicious about your current lowest diff name. Of course we can use custom names as long as the difficulty is understandable; however, will everyone know what a minnow is? I'd suggest to use something more simpler for your diffnames, like Small Fish / Big Fish or Small Shark / Big Shark maybe.
  2. Why is slider tick rate different in both diffs?

[Minnow]
  1. 00:34:201 (5,1) - Not perfectly parallel
  2. 00:49:469 (1) - Well, the pattern itself looks nice, but I'd suggest using a different slider shape from the previous one since the sound here is very different and even marked with kiai since is the part of the song that stands out more~
  3. 01:32:116 (1) - Unsnapped

[Shark]
  1. 01:31:969 (1) - Unsapped
  2. 00:45:672 (4) - the accuracy bar overlaps with this circle, in case you mind, cuz I don't mind~
  3. 01:29:321 (1,3) - It would be cool if you blanket these two

From what I see, it seems you have fixed the unsnapped spinners and they keep getting unsnapped for some reason. My guess would be that is being caused by the mp3's length, so if they keep getting unsnapped, the solution would be extending the mp3 a bit by adding some silence at the end.. I guess~

Feel free to call me back~

In the game you can catch fish by looking for shadows in the water, but only on this island can you catch sharks, which are rare harder to catch fish that have a distinctive fin poking out of the water from their shadow.

fish = easier to catch/more common
shark= harder to catch/more rare
ezek
Yes, as polka said.

Any kind of fish cast a shadow, which can vary on size depending on the type of fish; however, only sharks show the fin, as you can see in these boxes below:

With the addition that when someone says fish, most people will think about small fish, and shark being specific, you think of this dangerous aquatic predator~
