  1. for you mapped all of diffs in the set, i recommend you set same combo color in every diff, because i see no reason to use different ones there.

Catharsis

  1. 00:07:653 (3) - highly recommend you add one time repeating. there actually has a bell's beat at that red tick as well. same to 00:10:919 (3) - as well. your hard diff did that as well.
  2. 00:12:143 (1) - this anti-flow's not necessary imo, just do ctrl+g here.
  3. 00:21:939 (1,2,3) - for following the vocal track, i think do ctrl+g to them one by one can be better, try it.
  4. 00:24:592 (2,3,4) - change order to 4,2,3 can fit the vocal better imo, currently big jump at 00:23:572 (1,2) - is really unnecessary.
  5. 00:27:245 (2,3) - do ctrl+g here to follow that really special vocal beat.
  6. 00:32:858 add note to follow vocal?
  7. 01:06:939 (7) - seems like this note follows nothing but... other triplets are follow obvious vocals... maybe avoid this?
  8. 01:14:184 (1,3) - i highly recommend you avoid overlapping the arrow, it's nearly unrankble.

Edit:
Cropped and improved storyboard elements.
If you open up the .osb file and scroll down, under each element, you'll find something like
 S,0,190094,,0.1272728
S means scale
0 is the interpolation mode (0 being linear)
190094 is the start time in ms (there's usually an end time, but it's empty here as indicated by the ",,")
0.1272728 is the magnitude of scaling, 1 being default.
If you go through the .osb and change all of the necessary elements to have the same scaling magnitude, then they should all be the same size in the storyboard.

i don't like the trend of making the hardest difficulty have a custom difficulty name but it's not my place to judge
the spacing on this difficulty is totally out of sync with the song, it's ridiculously jumpy just so it can claim to be difficult. The erratic, unpredictable spacing of the notes, and how there's zero organization or pattern to most of them, leads this to be extremely unfun.

Try not to make something hard just to be hard. That's a slippery slope you're standing on the edge of, and there is beauty in a map that stays true to the difficulty you'd expect from the song.

your normal and hard are very well done and are very solid, but you seem to choke on making the hardest difficulty. This isn't uncommon, as it's quite difficult to find a balance between making it harder and making it more fun. Relatively easy maps can be very fun. Sure, you won't get a reputation for having "challenging maps", but you shouldn't want a reputation for making "maps harder than they should be" either.

Hey, fast check; no need to KD

It's been a while since I modded anything so apologies for any sloppiness.

Storyboard
- Not super important, but if you go through your .osb file and change all the scalings to be 0.625, then that can help with consistency through the SB.
eg: (look at the last number)
 S,0,5613,,0.625

- 00:07:245 - The transition from the brightness to normal isn't really smooth. Since the music also picks up at this point, I would also recommend using a flash here by having a white image fill the screen and fade out to about 00:07:653. This is the white.png that I use (right-click save).
- 00:46:429 - Your bg_in_red.png starts out smaller than the background. Go through your .osb file and change the last number of the scaling so that it matches the one you use for your background (should be 0.625) for a smoother pulse.
- 00:59:490 - Same thing here.
- 01:45:204 - And again.
- 01:58:266 - Yep.
- 02:17:858 - Perhaps a flash here similar to what I suggested before for a smoother transition.
- 03:16:633 - As before.
- 03:21:531 - As well as it being too small initially, I feel like the expansion rate is a bit too high, which gives it a bit more 'intense' feeling compared to how you did this pulse before, where the music wouldn't really suggest this at all. I would change it so there's more time before it fades out, preferably the same time as your previous pulses. That applies to the next three pulses too I suppose.
- 03:22:755 - I think it would be better if your bright.png starts at 03:23:164 instead, and have it continue fading in until 03:26:021 to match the cresendo in the music.
- 03:26:021 - I can't say I like how this switches back from bright into contrast and back into bright again really quickly; it feels pretty unnatural and doesn't really flow very well. I would rethink how you would do this part (perhaps make it fade into black and then pulse?). You can change my above suggestion too if that conflicts with this one.
- 03:39:490 - Pulse... you probably know what I'm going to say :P

- 00:46:021 (2) - Perhaps change this so you have a hard note at 00:46:429 since this is the start of kiai time.
- 01:44:796 (4) - As above.

- 03:16:837 - I would put a note here to follow the vocals/piano.
- 03:19:490 (5,6) - Not sure about having a stack, but it's up to you.

Catharsis
- 00:40:102 (2,6) - Put these claps on the white ticks instead of the red ticks.
- 01:10:919 (1) - Not a suggsetion, but I think this stream is great :)
- 01:15:000 (3,1) - Looks like these became catmull sliders (drag the slider point around to see what I mean). I would replace them and make them the same shape.
- 01:20:715 (1,2) - Minor: These don't appear to be perfectly symmetrical with eachother.
- 02:33:368 (4) - I don't like the slider itself in my opinion (too much wiggling), and I would use this sort of rhythm personally: - 02:38:266 (1,2,3,4) - I would keep the spacing consistent with the rest of the stream, since I don't believe the music calls for an increase like this.
- 03:25:102 (4,1) - I would keep the spacing consistent here.
- 03:25:511 (4,1) - As above.
- 03:26:021 (1,2) - I would remove the hitsounds from these two personally since the music drops completely save for the vocals.

use 艦隊これくしょん -艦これ- instead as source ? you could add the romanized one on the tags instead imo
the soft claps were really poor and didn't fit the song tbh, i'd go for normal-hitnormal.. that's sounds more appropriate along with the drum on the song itself
also i think u could add some whistles at the first part of the maps, it'd sounds pretty plain without them
just some thought, that kind of weird to see the description SB that appears really late near the end of the song, but.. meh idk seems there're no other space that fit anyway xD

personally i dont think this spread is acceptable, i dont want to made myself sound rude but with that pretty high sv and speed up at kiai soo it can't be helped.

00:03:980 (1) - finish sounds too noisy, lower the volume or just change it to whistle
01:22:347 (1) - ^
00:12:143 (1) - this make nonsense with 00:12:960 (4,5) - as this one were just overmapped thing when the next slider kicks were representing the real drum stream, just change this into 1/2 patterns
00:47:449 (5) - it doesn't really justified to skip the drum to follow the vocal at this part, it makes the gameplay became weird imo
01:19:490 (3,4) - what's up with this part with suddenly many un-appropriate 3/4 sliders strike on ? i'd just go with 1/1 slider or 1/2 slider when the music didn't ask for it
02:58:470 (1) - the slider didn't follow anything at the music, should be changed with note and 1/2 sliders or something similiar with your own concern

i'd stop here, seems the overall maps also contains several same issues

Hello! Thank for the mod, but I'm afraid I can't guarantee a recheck for your map, as it does not meet my criteria in four two ways: Random jumping in Insane, colour and effect selection in SB, Senya, using Yamato for KanColle song background. But I will try to help improving the map.


[SB]
03:10:102 - use more comfortable and less pure colour. http://www.weibo.com/1872762823/Bek5AoBJC This is a useful reference, and please ignore Chinese characters. Also, dim the background out to make player see the words better.
03:22:347 - remove the expansion effect here.
03:24:796 - 03:26:021 - making a graduate blackout is commonly used here, and you can try this solution.
03:26:225 - use an easing effect instead of a sudden stroke. (remember to change both "bright.png" and "bg in red.png")

[Insane]
I think the problem may be that you are to struggling to make up the difficulty as a 4.3 star. However, you don't really to make it this hard, since you haven't map much and the struggle leads to loss of control. This amplifies the breaking of flow in the patterns, and lets the player lose interest after the first chorus because of consistent jumping.

00:20:306 - 00:44:796 - using consistent huge spacing in verse part just isn't a good idea. For example, 00:28:470 (1,2,3) - what does this imply? It's just an enormous jump from nowhere, and the player will feel confused, what does the jump come from? I suggest using a smaller spacing and remap the part. Or the whole map just becomes competition for who pokes random bubbles better.
Also, 00:43:164 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - The 1/4 in background can be used.
The same applies to 01:19:082 - 01:45:204 - .

00:48:062 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - This series is just random jumping with no flow. Adding NC on 00:48:878 (1) - may help you decide how to place jump in a better way (you can remove NC later when you find a satisfied pattern).
00:51:939 (3,4,5,6,7) - make a parallelogram for better looking.

I think during kiai time, whistle can be placed better by following vocal.

Other diffs are pretty solid and I can't find a problem. Anyway, good luck!

Overall this map is good, its rare that I can enjoy low maps but this was fun
  1. 00:30:102 (1) - this looks funny because of the way the combo is split.. but theres not much we can do about that lol. maybe we can make 00:30:511 (2) - using the same shape so it can match with something
  2. 00:30:511 (2,3) - fix blanket if you didnt take the suggestion above
  3. 00:42:347 (5,6) - this might get confused as 1/4 timing, maybe try putting them like this http://puu.sh/jKcx5/a40ca46332.jpg (you should also move the slider more to the right or the next stream more to the left!)

  1. 00:00:715 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - ooh this is really nice shape. but I don't recommend you start the song off with it. Lots of circles + nothing before it to show the beat of the song means many people will hit 100 or miss.
  2. 00:24:388 (2,3) - check the spacing here since you were using DS in this section
  3. 01:48:470 (1,2) - hmmm I think this might be a confusing pattern since everything else on the map is using small spacing. Sorry I can't think of a ez fix for this though, so just rearrange this section
  4. 02:05:817 (6,1) - is the spacing here too small? you can just change the shape of 6 a little
  5. 02:14:592 (5) - forgot NC here
  6. 03:00:306 (5) - ^
  7. 03:00:306 (5) - I think you are also missing some hitsounds here too

  1. 00:01:735 (5,1) - Weird that you don't put a jump here even tho its both a start of a new measure, and emphasized.
  2. 00:02:755 (3,4,5) - I don't like this kind of flow :P. Slider 5 doesn't follow the flow fro 3>4 very well.
  3. 00:29:082 (2,3,4) - Yea this flow doesn't look nice either.
    Visual flow
    Black = the visual flow of this pattern, its weird because you have a curve on slider 4 that doesn't reflect the flow of the previous two patterns. Red = the idea angle where the flow would fit.
  4. 00:40:715 (5) - Should NC this for better readability.
  5. 00:52:143 (4,5,6) - Larger spacing from 5>6 imo. cuz 6 is a stronger note. Generally white-tick notes are stronger than red ticks anyways.
  6. 01:11:327 (5,6,1) - Think of kick-sliders as just circles with a tail. You should have a larger jump from 6>1 for emphasis here, but in stead its a smaller jump than the jump from 5>6 (based on slider-head location).
  7. 01:30:102 (7,8,1) - Improper emphasis use here too. 7>8 shouldn't contain a jump when the music is putting emphasis onto 1.
  8. 01:44:592 (6,7,8,1) - 8>1 should be give a jump. Like I said earlier, its best to only consider the slider-head when thinking about kicksliders, and 8>1 isn't very impactful like the jump from 6>7
  9. 02:14:592 (1,2,3) - Following the drums and 3/4 rhythm would be more straightforward imo but 1/3 snapping also works here. I think the drums are more significant and straightforward tho. Like, players are morelikely to follow the drums than the piano.
  10. 02:32:551 (1,2,3) - Again, emphasis is wrong. 1>2 isn't emphasized in the music so the jump feels random and not mapped to the music (or not mapped as well as it could be).
I feel like i'm repeating myself. Hate to be that guy, but I think i covered a relevant number of issues in your map. Hopefully i explained them well enough that you can apply them to other places in this difficulty.
