Hey there!

I was an active player 3 to 4 years ago and stopped playing osu!

Recently I got kinda nostalgic of how much fun and competitive/challenging the game was and decided to get back, but I'm nowhere close to my skill 3-4 years ago (that's obvious), so i wanted to know what would be the best way to get back on the game.

I used to play 4 star DTHD, high 5 and mid 6 star maps without trouble, nowadays I can't really fc a 4.5 star map. Would the best way to get back be to forcing myself into playing 5-6* maps or got slower on 4* maps?

Thanks in advance!

Just have fun, then increase the difficulty level.

the best way would be to simply play on a daily basis and have fun in general

have fun playing maps that suit you and you'll regain your skill :)

I think it would be best to find out your strengths and weaknesses.
So what patterns are you best at, what patterns are you the worst at.

From there, you can decide to improve your best assets or work on the patterns that you are bad at, without overdoing the difficulty.
So search around for some maps with specific patterns and play a variety of those maps. All maps are mapped differently no matter the patterns, so it is best to really just get a range to pinpoint what you are good at.
And of course, most importantly, have some fun.

My strength is jumps and my absolute worst asset is streams, guess I'll also try to play some easy stream maps to get used to it (I used to avoid streams at all costs back when I played xD)

if you enjoy the game, just play the game, if you need to force yourself to play the game, then maybe it's not worth it

I didn't mean forcing like being forced to play, just to force myself to play "harder" maps, but I get what you're saying!

I'd suggest starting off with some burst maps to improve your soon to be streaming ability.
Sometimes, other patterns can unexpectedly fun

If you want to rebuild your skill, I'd recommend playing maps that are generally a bit too difficult to FC but that you can definitely A rank on a good run (although since your acc in general is a bit low, perhaps 90-92 is ok as well).

the best way to come back is to feel the rhythm coming inside of you.
