Denizenship (as well as generations) as a concept was created by Abraker in order to catalogue OT's history. To be a denizen shows that you have contributed something to an extent where you have left a mark upon the history of OT. Generations are meant to define the various eras that OT has gone through, and their length can vary depending on the circumstances at the time.
The current qualifications for denizenship are that you have spent 8 months without any major breaks consistently posting on the forums and have also made a meaningful contribution through OT. Said contribution can take a variety of forms, whether it be through lore, high quality posts, art, or more.
You cannot opt out of becoming a denizen, just like you can't opt out of being in a history book.
Denizenship removal will be reserved for fringe cases where any positive contributions someone has made are vastly outweighed by a negative presence. In other words, you have to majorly and consistently fuck up. Denizenship will NOT be revoked for low quality posts or inactivity.
The rule about submitting your contributions to the OT!Gov is primarily for the sake of convenience, and forgetting something/not submitting will not prevent you from becoming a denizen.
I wanted to put this all into one thread, because it seems that no matter how many times I may state these elsewhere, there's always another person with the same misconception in another area. Ah, the woes of being president!
