Why do the developers of this game insist on keeping it a niche community? Do they not want their game, which can easily become mainstream, to be successfull?

1. No option to remove backgrounds from the game. Developers go out of their way to make it hard for non-anime fans to remove hentai backgrounds off their computer screen. Its so simple to do yet they do not want to give users to option.

The game is blocking out a hugeeee market of non-anime fans. You go out of you way to make it imposssible to remove the anime backgrounds from the game, or even really play non anime songs.
I like anime and dont mind, which is how I found the game, but you have to understand most people do not want it shoved down their face. I literally do not show a single one of my friends this game because its honestly embarassing.

ITS SO SIMPLE TO GIVE USERS THE OPTION TO MAKE THE BACKGROUND BLACK. I DO NOT WANT HENTAI ANIME GIRLS ON MY COMPUTER AND NEITHER DOES ANYONE ELSE ****WITH FRIENDS****

Im not even complaining about the fact that you cannot find a non anime or nightcore song in the ranked section. I just want the option to make my backgrounds black so I can show off my osu! skills in front of my friends.

Again, I love anime and watch it, but I'm not some weeaboo weirdo like a lot of the people on here, no offense. Not everyone likes anime, and quite frankly, its embarrassing to have anime tits on my computer in my college dorm. Allow me to make the beatmap backgrounds black. Enough is enough its been 6 years and the weirdo developers of this game, who are probably virgins, constistenly go out of their way to shove anime down everyones throat. osu! is very successful. somewhere around 15 - 20 mil accounts. These days if you're a "gamer" chances are youve at least heard of osu.

There is alot of this in ranked all the time, not sure what you mean, but even regardless of that fact, members of the community create the beatmaps, not staff, so its up to some random people of the community to put in the hours to create the maps. do it yourself if you like hiphop. Its not the only genre people like. Hiphop and pop are very heavily copyrighted, so its not always easy to map/rank these songs anyway.

1. You literally can already do that, as many people have said in the comments.

2. It's not as easy as "just make more hip-hop beatmaps". People map the songs they want to hear, and the songs they want to hear are overwhelmingly anime shit. I personally think it'd be cool to see more maps with songs that don't fit the normal weeb shit, but it's not that simple. If you really want to see more ranked hip-hop beatmaps, then I'd suggest you get into mapping and be the change you want to see in the world.

Yet we have an infinitely better understanding of the game than you? Delete the BGs yourself, that will replace them with a "base background". there are tools that allow you to do this quickly.
