I would say it's osu!, it's just amazing. But if I would have to say something other than that, maybe Team Fortress 2.

And you think they would be so wholesome since they're playing a village game with animals in it.

From my experience single player and/or co-op-type of games tend to have more wholesome communities since the members are not put against each other, aka, there's no competition. Asshats will still be asshats no matter the community, but at least the game does not "create" animosity
Totally agree with this old post.

compared to other games, it's so easy to get involved in even the "niche" parts of osu! community, so I think if you have some intuition where to look you're guaranteed to find lots of cool people. I don't know if overall it's less toxic or whatever but it's your personal experience that matters
osu! has a lot of very different sub communities, on one hand you have OT which is pretty nice in general, on the other hand you have the mapping community.

definitely PSO2
the only toxicity comes from an alliance being dead, or when some meseta bot is in lobby
other than that, we literally just do emotes until it's concert LMAO
I miss PSO2 so much, wasted hundreds of hours on that game. The community was pretty nice, as long as you didn't accidentally join the 18+/weird blocks.

Definitely, you can even easily chat with the creator on discord, he's really cool.

True. Omori isn't not toxic. They're like a less worse fandom than undertale but still toxic.

GW2 is the friendliest one for me, there are a few bad apples there but it almost never happens. PSO2 comes close though.

I don't know if Algodoo counts as a game. But the people in the marble racing community are very cool and there are rarey annoying people in it.

I thought it's just a bunch of people going "oh hey, a marble video popped up on my feed, guess I should watch it because it's satisfying."

I hate this group of fandoms:

Undertale
Deltarune
Omori
Five Nights at Freddies
Friday Night Funkin

I think there's 3 things that contribute to non-toxic videogame fandoms:

1. The fandom is small.
2. No competitive aspect.
3. The game is wholesome.

The nicest one I've ever been in is probably the Another Eden fandom, which hits points 1 and 2, and although it's not the most wholesome game out there, I would also say it's not not wholesome.

I don't think 3 is needed. I've seen a few NSFW game fandoms but they're all so nice to eachother.

With number 3 I was thinking that less wholesome games tend to have more degenerate fandoms, but now that I think about it, degeneracy doesn't equal toxicity. So I agree.

project diva community pretty nice tho
bought once project diva ft then got bored, its like the 99% of fandom same

And on this day, none dared mutter the beast's name: League.

Jokes aside I'd say the Splatoon and Binding of Isaac communities are pretty non-toxic.

All the Binding of Isaac players I've ever met insulted me for not liking the game, then proceeded to insult every game I ever played.

most toxic thing i've seen in the splatoon fandom is the whole sticks/motion debate

that's a good thing, by the way. the debate is dumb and sometimes people will just bring it up for no real reason, but it's mundane and borders on being a weird in-joke sometimes

i find wholesome games to actually tend to draw in worse fanbases, since they often attract children and immature adults. the sort of people who'll send outright death threats over pointless things

All the toxicity in The Sims fanbase gets vented on killing your sims in horrible ways and telling EA to fuck themselves.

Not the least toxic but it's a relative low toxicity.

Children. Especially the children. They make up most of the toxic parts of a community since they can't grasp the concept that actions have consequences. They won't listen to reason or constructive arguments either since they're just children.

They also lack the ability to understand that not everyone has the same opinions as them. Most of Twitter needs to learn that lesson lol
