so, this subforum is pretty dead, and I know I'm not going to change that but I think making a thread and adding some variety would be nice

this thread is meant to discuss games released in 2024, your personal favourite, disappointments, what you want to try out, and any other stuff as long as it's related to 2024 releases. I also plan to bump this thread when the game awards start, to discuss that too. I may do a thread for 2025 releases on january

couldn't be the fist post since this isn't OT and I didn't want to this on the OP

this is the list of videogames i've played released this year

Initially my goty was rabbit and steal, but then I played 1000x resist, and then I played until then, good games this year, lots of surprise too, judero came out of nowhere an that game is a banger

now, I don't think any of these games is winning the game awards, i'm pretty sure either animal well or balatro are going to win the "best indie game" awawrd

Played Thaumaturge which is good and Dragon's Dogma 2 which is an absolute banger, it also got a big update like 2 weeks ago.

I have 1000x resits in my wishlist, don't know when I'll get to it.

I don't play many recent games sadly I'm stuck in old games limbo lol.

just beat Neva, new game from the creators of gris, this game is just gris but better, banger visual, may be the best visual this years which is surprising given this year we already had 1000xResist and judero which looked fucking amazing

So the game awards nominees are out, and I'm not going to say i'm disapointed because I expected it to be bad, but man, it was BAD

elden ring DLC nominated as goty, star wars outlaws as best action game, the category of debut indie is thrash fire, fucking manor lords and pacific drive over 1000xResist and hades 2?, really?, balatro seems it's going to win the indie category as it's nominated as goty, which seems kinda bs because lorelei is also nominated and that game is amazing
Ymir
I'm just happy for Pekora

I don't know why a DLC is getting GOTY

I don't think I've ever played a newly released game so I never really have any other involvement in this award show

I'm not a true gamer

It's stupid but games have been receiving GOTY for years they have not been released before so it's not like it means anything.

Results aren't surprising, none of the announcements are really interesting despite rumors that some of them would be insane lol.

Still not convinced to get a PS5, even though I'm glad a ""kiddy"" (not really, more of a "global appeal") game took home GOTY.

Though I'm actually convinced to buy Balatro, especially after it stood right there as a GOTY nominee...
