Pros: Be able to make maps of any song you like; satisfaction of people playing your maps

i've forgotten a lot of my time here in osu!, so i can't claim to have any particularly well-encompassing perspective on what actually qualifies as a pro or con... and most of the potential cons tend to apply more to pretty well-expected facets of gaming and respectively common elements of communities and player behaviors in general.
