pros: ease of exploration with music. something to absorb yourself in. potentially wonderful pockets of the community.
cons: history of volatile discourse with mapping standards and game systems. unsurprising precedent of unhealthy competition to the player's detriment. potentially unsafe pockets of the community.
i've forgotten a lot of my time here in osu!, so i can't claim to have any particularly well-encompassing perspective on what actually qualifies as a pro or con... and most of the potential cons tend to apply more to pretty well-expected facets of gaming and respectively common elements of communities and player behaviors in general.
