PP farming makes you good at farming.
Untill it doesnt
Now don't get me wrong, playing only pp farm maps can lead you to missing important step and developing your skillset. However, if you combine pp farm along with maps that tackle other areas (i.e, streams, tech, low/high AR, stamina, etc), then you become a much better rounded player. And it's for one reason:Fxjlk wrote:

farming is always with higher ar. so idk what you are trying to say but you dont need to build every skills when you start imomqwilliamscom wrote:

Or you could just skip the farming part and just get good? PP comes naturally with a high skill level. We might have a different view of what farming is but for me farming is specifically playing maps that are overweighted and I don't see the point honestly.mqwilliamscom wrote:

I personally wouldn't say farm maps are vital. Rather just playing more aim intensive maps would help train the skill.
i dont really farm everyday but i can say that there is lots of top players got to their place by just farming. They only farmedFxjlk wrote:

And theres also many who got high rank from not farming.kujubuo wrote:

That doesn't mean farming is an incorrect way of doing things lol. You can learn to play farm maps well and then use those skills to get better at other aspects of the game. That's what I did when I used to be a top player and quite a few of my old friends did the same too.Fxjlk wrote:

Osu is a lot like music. There are some musicians who get amazing despite learning the wrong way. Though there is an even greater number who stay mediocre because they don't practice correctly to reach their goals
Tbh how you go for passes is also important. Like low misscount passes, just only passes etc. You can pretty sure improve by going for low misscount passesAlmost wrote:

A real wrong way of getting good at the game is only going for passes all day and randomly getting good like that. Is it possible? Probably but very few people (if any) have pulled it off.
Playing farm isnt bad in itself. The problem is when you only play to farm and only play hard farm maps to improve. Farm maps need a specific structure and this leaves holes in skillsets that don't really matter for pp.Almost wrote:

I can agree with that, the only thing I disagree with is when you insinuated that getting good by playing farm maps is wrong. Yeah you don't have to play farm maps but it's a path you can go down that's not going to be bad for you or hinder your progress.Fxjlk wrote:

Playing farm isnt vital to improving either, just like how tech maps arnt vital for improving. The fundamental skillsets (aim, finger control, stamina, reading etc) can be improved in many ways.
I see. I was replying to kujubuo who said top players could get really good from only farming. My reply referred to farming all the time as the "wrong way" but I wasnt explicit about that.Almost wrote:

I think your issue is that you are used to lower bpms. So higher stars require higher bpm and you suck at that probablyJuuuuuuuuul wrote:

Is that a National Geographic Documentation? I'd watch that tbhAnemic Witch wrote:
