d,D = 동 | k,K = 캇

[Daybreak Oni]

Thanks for modding :3

The mapset is pretty much fine, the new changes are smooth and enhance the spread across sections well. Call me back when things are settled.

:?: however I have a few suggestions to point out

  1. I am not sure about these two tags you have put in, Underflow and Sylphi. I did a little search on the Internet, and they seem to me are not related to the song. Do tell me if it is otherwise.
  2. I am curious about this. Any reasons using 5.3 as HP? 5.5 and 5 are appropriate as well, so for me I generally tend to use those instead.

:!: 00:03:516 (17,18) - 00:07:631 (48,49) - 00:09:002 (58,59) - 00:14:488 (106,107) - 00:18:602 (139,140) - 00:19:974 (149,150) - I don't think these are appropriate.

You may be doing this for pattern progressions, and I notice that you have kd s after all these, but these are not fit to the music, as 00:03:516 (17) - lies in the exact percussion as 00:03:345 (16) - and 00:03:602 (18) - is a low base drum. This also apply to the other few 1/4 duplets. Moreover, I don't see you reusing this pattern choice at the very end of the song, which also has similar sounds as this beginning part.

So I strongly suggest you change them to kd instead

:!: 00:05:316 (31,32) - VS 00:16:288 (120,121,122,123) - I really like the idea that you leave blanks in 31,32 to emphasize the bass sounds, but it is the only place where you place breaks here in the beginning section.

No more breaks at 00:16:288 (120,121,122,123) - will loosen the structure and make that blank seems odd overall.

A quick fix is to change 00:16:288 (120,121,122,123) - to only a d at 00:16:288 - and a d at 00:16:631 -, which sounds quite nice as well.

:?: 01:27:602 (676) - There is a very notable cymbal sound here. I personally would map this D and delete 01:27:688 (677) - , but it is up to you. Same for 01:16:631 (581) -

:!: 01:28:802 (688,689,690,691,692) - This has very similar sounds as 00:44:916 (350,351,352,353) - but you mapped it differently.

It is fine to have different patterns, but I do think the usage of finishers should be consistent throughout the map, so that it creates a stronger coherence throughout the map.

I suggest changing 01:28:802 (690,691,692,693,694) - to rhythms that are similar to 00:44:916 (352,353,354,355) - Same for 01:17:831 (595,596,597,598,599) -

:!: 02:13:374 (895,896,897,898,899,900,901,902,903) - This part can be better arranged.

I notice this stream while test-playing. It creates a strange feeling because of the non-meta pattern and especially the offbeat 1/4 quintuples, which is not a common one that you used throughout the map. 02:16:116 (919,920,921,922,923,924,925,926,927) - This one however flows better and the melody is represented better because the two 02:16:631 (924,925,926,927) - duplets are currently mapped in such a way that it makes it clear to players.

I strongly suggest you change the pattern at 02:13:374 -

:?: 02:24:002 (990) - This is another place where I will consider putting a finisher and remove 02:23:916 (989) - . It is up to you.

:?: 02:32:745 (1060) - 02:33:002 (1063) - Switch these two notes' position? The music is still blurred until 02:32:916 (1062) - and it would make more sense that you map more dons than kats here. So the map is more related with the music in this area.

:!: 03:21:602 (373) - Should have finisher, just like 03:20:059 (361) - and 03:20:745 (364) - , for consistency. You may want to remove 03:21:516 (372) - as a result.

And the rest are fine.

 Please pay attention to the finisher usage throughout the map, I did not point out all of them because those I didn't point out are similar to the ones above-mentioned, but mostly after the calm part in the middle of the song.
 Call me back when you have applied my mod

  1. Change all patterns which have similar melody as 01:16:631 for consistency.

I'm here to give the map attention, so here's a few things that could better the map in my opinion

03:26:745 - You can make the a kkkkd pattern to follow the snares here.
03:37:716 - The same thing as above occurs in multiple random section of the map, so I will link each section I think should be changed to a 5 note pattern for these snares:
03:48:688 -
03:59:659 -
04:43:545 - this one could stay the same since the end of the song is decreasing in density and stuff.
//////////////////////
03:49:374 - You could make this a 7 note pattern possibly, right now the absence of a note 03:49:716 - on this vocal threw me off the first time playing through it.
04:15:431 - It is unclear what this 1/6 is following, so I suggest removing it. The only thing I think it could follow is this fall effect, but I believe that can be mapped appropriately without the 1/6, a 1/4 dkd would have the same effect without the unnecessary difficulty.
04:37:716 - 1/8 pp doubles when lol.
04:59:145 - feels like this 1/6 counteracts the decrease in density you started in this ending section, the sudden spike in difficulty is kind of confusing and doesn't fit very well, so consider changing this to just 1/4 kkd. If you are worried about similarity, you could make 04:59:916 (1115) - just k d so that the density continues to fall until the end.

Other than that, looks pretty good. Inbox me when you've responded to this and let's get it ranked owo
