weyheyhey !! - UP THE BUM NO BAIIIIIBEEZ by Backfire
- Familiar to a lot of you if you played in a Taiko Tournament this year, this map features some minor gimmicks but overall a brutal, unrelenting pace of notes that features a wide variety of structures, patterns and SV changes that will thrill you till the very end.
Fleshgod Apocalypse - The Fool by LZD
- A very, very stamina draining map from LZD. LZD is a great mapper known for things like this, like his ranked map Jikiniki. His use of long, simple streams in this map elevate it beyond simply just a map with metal music backing it, as it is very fun to play and practice on. The kiai features an awesome don heavy stream with kats the complement the great vocals for this track.
kuroma - Pon-Pon-Pompoko Dai-Sen-Saw! by -xNaCLx-
- Featured in this years TWC as a Free Mod pick, a lot of pro's are probably familiar with this map, and also, no doubt have a love-hate relationship with it's blistering difficulty. The 1/6 is intense but also fitting, as NaCL's veteran use of these kinds of patterns no doubt flourishes in this song.
Camellia - Lunatic Rough Party!! (Long Ver.) by tasuke912
- Not to be mistaken with Fantazy's Version, this version doesn't feature quite as heavy SV gimmicks but it is a well-mapped and represented version of the song, that does do a lot of justice to the cool and chaotic nature of the song. There is a lot of subtle work that went into the map to make it actually fair and playable, and that makes it a very nice entry to the list.
Camellia - Shun no Shifudo o Ikashita Kare Fumi Paeria by Nishizumi
- Colloquially known as Octopus, this is another very familiar map for Taiko tournament players, this map features very liberal use of SV changes in a way that makes it rather aesthetically pleasing instead of frustrating. Featuring two different difficulties with different philosophies on the SV use as well as patterning, there is something here for everyone to either watch or play!
Laur - Ultima Weapon by yea
- Probably the most overall difficult map in the pool, however it has a wide variety of difficulties for every player to play,
this was the most widely requested of the maps listed and it shows. Featuring insane difficulties from yea their-self as well as hard guest difficulties from the well known mappers _yu68 & Nishizumi, it's 340 BPM may be hard to keep up with but the ones who struggle can marvel and the great mapping by turning down the difficulty a notch with half-time!
Kurokotei - Scattered Faith by Sayaka-
- Here we go again...the Galaxy Collapse sequel. Perhaps almost as infamous as Galaxy Collapse itself, this map is beyond insanely hard, this is for god-level players only. Few players will pass this, even fewer of them will ever achieve the S. There is nothing else left to say but : Good luck.
Bring The Madness (Noisestorm Nightcore Remix) by Nwolf
- Used in the Grand Finals pool of LMS 4, this map was the err of _yu68, but let's not let his frustration put past what this map is : Cool. Even ignoring the awesome song Nwolf chose to map, the map has a variety of SV changes that are easy enough to read on sight, but also, a variety of difficulties based on what you may like or dislike. This may be one of the more contested picks, but we believe it's a great map that should be included with Loved.
Lily - Scarlet Rose by ll-oscar
- One of the only fast maps included in the pool that isn't super blisteringly hard, this map includes the normal ll-oscar patterns, simple and fun, with a great and infamous song to boot. Highly favorited and ll-oscar deserves a Loved map for all of his great and intense maps over the years!
