I'd also recommend fasting or a ketogenic diet for losing weight if you need to. This vid is a really good watch. TL;DW: insulin that your body produces when you eat carbohydrates prevents your body from being able to access your fat storage to burn fat. Weight-loss programs of going on calorie restrictive diets and exercising regularly aren't effective for losing weight because the insulin inhibits you from burning fat and instead your metabolism slows down to reduce your energy expenditure. Fasting however, shifts your body from burning glycogen (that's produced by carbs) to fat straight away, and unlike common misconceptions, it doesn't slow down your metabolism or make you burn muscle.
