lol sorry, forgot to mention that I'm salty about this situation lately
I did list out some, however moving them about is another thing

Going back to this for a second. This does kind of help a little, but unless we remove other stickied threads or announcements, it's just another stickied thread/announcement. We need to actually start unpinning some of them so there's less clutter
I haven't unpinned anything yet since I wasn't sure what you guys consider as important to keep pinned and what not. Obviously I was expecting to unpin threads after this one has been put in announce.deadbeat wrote:

But, you see, that's the whole conundrum. The kind of person who posts mixed skins is someone who will never go look for the rules because they don't care. They have no investment in the community whatsoever, which is why they don't know the rules in the first place, and also makes it futile to punish them afterwards because they have nothing to lose. They stumble onto the forum, vomit up their low effort garbage, and leave forever when everyone yells at them. The forum is ultimately what suffers, and not the poster, and we can only do something about it after the damage is already done. Expecting responsibility from the irresponsible inevitably leads to an unwinnable game of whack-a-mole.deadbeat wrote:
5: People should always read the rules. I've already changed the guidelines thread to Skinning Rules. Once the stickied and announcement threads get thinned out, it'll be a lot more visible. I see no reason to throw information in peoples face because they're too lazy to read.

also, what about throwing old-meta skins into a separate section? Like kawaiipandah's Kagamine Len Rin and Nightcore HD

Are you kidding me? For the record, I view the Nightcore HD skin as an incredibly good skin that people should look to for quality reasons.h3oCharles wrote:

While a lot of the skins in there are missing a few new things because of updates that have occurred over the years, I don't think I'd want to throw them out.

Where should questions go? Been seeing a lot pop up as new threads while the skinning section's rules kinda imply that it should be going to mlgnom's thread
Would suggest to have a thread, clearly stated by the title to put your questions there but from experience I know that 50% will keep asking outside of said area so it may not work completely fine.RockRoller wrote:
I think they should be posted in the forum. The Post is really chaotic and you need to wait a long time to get an answer, if you ever get one.Geroyuni wrote:

Make the important pinned thread entitled in all caps to let other people read before posting.deadbeat wrote:
Stefan and I cleaned up the pinned threads a bit. Let us know if it's better now, or if you think something else should go.

How to make spinners symmetrical is a thread that does not need stickied. Is this somehow still an issue in 2017? How hard is it to make a circle and center align it?

Skinnable files list is obsolete. That info is all in the wiki.
How to adjust my skin.ini is also obsolete for the same reason.
It would also be great to have some kind of separation for questions and FAQs, and skins. I think it would be smarter to make the main forum for questions and a subforum for skins, because the people who are asking questions are the ones who are more likely to put their thread the first place they see. I also think that the rules should be made the sole announcement and everything else made a sticky so that that thread is the first thing you see when you come into the forum as it is on top and separated from everything else
Yes, it still is, especially for newbie skinners.Philosofikal wrote:

The list on the wiki isnt as good as the list. The list also features way more informations.Philosofikal wrote:

Why people shouldn't be able to understand simplified English. I don't like your ideaRockRoller wrote:
Stefan the english is really easy, but many people can't even understand that little bit english. Maybe translating at least the rules to another languages could be an idea.
Rethinking about that, it would be stupid.. they could read the rules but couldn't do anything more..Lyawi wrote:

+1 on that, ppl can look at WIP skins and give feedback while not getting lost in the already answered questions that are here for <1 yearRockRoller wrote:
I also really like the idea to separate completed Skins, Skins that are WIP/pending for complete status and question/general talk about skinning.
But I think it would be hard to do it. There are 116 Pages in this forum (112 or so after some got moved to completed) you would need to sort.h3oCharles wrote:

Yeah, I do agree. I do have no one to blame aside from myself, however the point I was trying to get across is that mods aren't the only who should have to do everything. I'd rather encourage people to help out more in small ways and not just leave all the heavy lifting to the mods. Sure we're the only ones with the powers required to lock/move threads, but at the same time, people are always free to reach out to us to ask for help. Waiting for help to arrive on it's own doesn't really work all the time.crystalsuicune wrote:
As for the Completed Skins subforum…To be honest that post from deadbeat a page or two back rubbed me the wrong way.
Sure we could work together to manage the quene and not place the burden on deadbeat alone,
in the end it's the -mods- who have the forum tools to move threads.
You can't just start a project like this, run off, then blame us for not doing the job you're supposed to be doing.
