BTW, I don't think you should make the notes shake. Just the background (not video), the ki bar, and possibly the score.

Just as a side note (didn't quite know where to put this), taiko autoplay should start by hitting the right side of the drum instead of the left?
...and auto will miss the first beat if it's on the first beat of the song

Starting work on opengl support - feature additions may be slow over the next week or so.

Here is a teaser: opengl on the left, direct3d on the right.


Note that gameplay works correctly at the moment, but many direct3d functions are still being relied on - the most important one being slider drawing. In order to port osu! totally, there is still much work to do on shader replacement, and input handling.

(+) First testing release with OpenGl support. Keep in mind editor doesn't work and sliders don't render. Changing resolutions requires a restart. Fullscreen doesn't work. Combo fire/shaders are not supported.
(+) GL renders in standard window.
(+) GL runs with no DirectX dependencies (but will not work with Mono yet due to many native calls).
(+) Added toggle for FPS display and GL/D3D renderer.
(*) Editor won't prompt to save a map if no changes are made.
(*) Reorganisation of options menu.

Original was better. You could easily see how far into the song you are, now you need to actively look away from the playing area and it disturbs playing. Earlier it was easy to see even in pretty hard spots of a map.

depends on when i fix the one bug with it. opengl works on over 50% of PCs but textures display as white blocks on others. unfortunately its not so easy to debug as it works on all my pcs :/. i'll probably have it ready for public release this weekend though.

Hmm.. I wonder when will the OpenGL support is going to be released.. I cant play Osu! cause my Graphics card doesn't support pixel shader.. Well at least I tried it once on my bro's computer (but he reformatted it so I cant try it anymore.)

short answer: when its ready. if you PM me on irc i may be able to hook you up with a pre-release test of opengl. Otherwise think this weekend or sometime next week. Unfortunately this release is held back a little due to huge changes in other areas of osu! too.
