If it can help you, looks like you rarely finish/start a map with < 80% HP (I played from 7th to 9th Dan), making things easier. 10th Dan was more pleasurable 'cause I always started around 20~40% HP

Not trying to sound rude but you should upload all of these separate instead of updating the same ones but with an added dan. It would organize things more and would take much quicker for the people that only want a specific course.

I was averaging around a-10 a few weeks ago, and I can tell you the length of the map doesn't increase the difficulty at all. It's like "gratz you just reached 10th Dan, now take this little eargasm as reward". Definitely the easiest map.

Star Rating may have jumped a lot, but 4th dan is actually pretty overrated imo (feels more like 5.3~5.5*)

I'm a mania noob and follwo your guide as some form of "training with increased difficulty" and I'm currently at the α-4 (4th Dan) - ☆2.12 and hit a little wall, because the note density is getting higher and thus my reading abillity really gets bad.
I need to learn more patterns I guess, since alot of the more complex or fast patterns (especially stairs or layers LN's) are throwing me off.
Btw could it be, that the star ranking in mania is not really helpfull?
Some 2.2 star maps are really easy and some are walls of notes and really fast patterns that are nearly unreadable for me.
Is that normal?

Yes it is normal.
Denser maps are rated higher, whether the pattern is easy to play or not. Well there are some underrate issues with maps with tons of Long Notes despite being dense (play area being cluttered with long notes, not note count).

Yes. Star rating is currently very broken in a few well known ways. For example, LNs are terribly underrated, while large chords, in particular chord jacks are overrated as hell.

Star rating should only be seen as a very rough guide to difficulty.

i'm interested to see who the hell passes this

So as to give some context to other people Sern888 recently cleared Azimuth which is an impressive feat but due to the note glitch, he did significantly worse at the final 2 songs.
Note Glitch: notes at the further end of a long and dense chart (pretty much around >7 mins length) notes will start to load slower, this means that sometimes notes can "appear" in the middle of the mania stage instead of starting at the top, this glitch gets worse as the chart gets longer/denser

Suggestion 1:
Pretty sure this has been reported before but I guess you can bump that thread or contact a suitable dev to fix this

Suggestion 2:
This suggestion is build upon the basis that players are honest, in which we have already informed them about by trusting they don't pause in the middle of maps to maintain upmost legitimacy.

Suggesting to break maps into separate compartments (singular maps) so that the glitch will rarely happen

Probably some issues I will counter beforehand

Bonus scoring: As there is another factor that goes into a mania scoring, thus may be an issue, but I personally think that this is negligible compared to the score loss currently
HP: HP gauge is reset when changing maps, currently, I can only think of Zenith being applicable for this criteria as the last 3 charts have a large enough intro to refill HP anyways (I might be wrong), not sute about Gamma and Azimuth, I kinda forgot how they played
Combo: eeeeeh not so important tbh
Break Time: the biggest issue here for breaking maps into separate components imo, loading time and Audioleadin result screen time is hard to keep fair amongst the players, not too sure about this

Would be great if Suggestion 1 actually went through but Suggestion 2 would be a temporary fix for now, I might need to mark these scores as a "unique case"

All you have to do to complete normal is pass
You have to 96% 0th and 1st insane

From my playing LN Dan 4's nyan cat has a relatively scary amount of bms patterns, imo lowering the OD might have a significant impact there.

is using scorev2 allowed?

I would suspect not; scorev2 changes LN mechanics and accuracy values among other things, so scores/accuracy can't be exactly equated between the two systems.

Of course, I'm not Jinjin, and now that scorev2 is in the stable client, maybe some thought should be given towards using scorev2 vs scorev1 to judge dan clears...

think there's a bit too many parameters to consider for ranking, besides it's not finalized yet so scores will become invalidated if something about accuracy/hp drain is changed

avoid score v2 for now

Hello everyone! It's been a while. I would like to address some changes made to the Zenith Regular Dan:

The regular Zenith Dan has been buffed (significantly!) We have found out from various playthroughs that the gap between Azimuth and Zenith was too small (and some people even thought Azimuth was harder than Zenith), and while people barely pass the LN Zenith, some people could pass Regular Zenith with ease (and with acc up to 98%)

After some planning, we have decided to buff the Regular Zenith dan so that it is a lot more challenging even to the best vsrg players in the world. You will notice that the new Zenith Dan is much more difficult than what it used to be. Do you think you have what it takes? Good luck!

1. Reworking a lot of the Regular / LN dans in order to make them more consistent with their difficulty
2. Revisiting Normal Dans and uploading them sometime in the near future

These updates will probably be done in small increments rather than one huge update (due to the limited time that I have for this every day)

basically anyone who uses their left thumb at this skill level (aka me) will most likely wont be able to get an S on this, let alone 96%
